Attacking “glass half full” posters after a loss…
OceanPanther replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
“ PANTHER FANS EAT THEIR OWN “ -
I'm liking Steve Wilks more and more each week. I'm not Pro or Against him being the Panthers next head coach. He's part of the lawsuit against the NFL suing the NFL for racial discrimination .. We know the NFL owners will ban together to do what ever they want to do ( not hiring colin kaeperinick etc ) . So will the other owners try to have input with Tepper to keep him from hiring him full time ? Will Tepper tell them to bugger off.. Will Tepper hold a grudge against those suing him ? Currently , because of the Rooney Rule, Tepper can not give Wilks to HC ( instead of interim HC ) job till have the season. Personally, I think if Tepper likes him and the job he's doing, he'll hire him and tell the other NFL owners to stay out of his business

Why does it have to be a FIRST TIME head coach vs Wilks.. I'm not against Wilks or in his camp yet ( Like he cares LOL ) , but maybe there'll be a another former head coach to take a look at . I think Wilks is doing a very good job , coming in off the bench. Our offense still reeks .. As much as we liked running the ball down Seattle's throat , even when they knew it was coming ,, you have to have more pass offense. Of coarse having a TE and a couple of WR that can catch the ball, get separation, and even make the occasional miracle catch would help .

The debate isn’t IF we need a QB , but what if they all suck,, I think that’s what the people saying TE , DE , WR .. Yeah we need a QB , but some are thinking if there is a stud TE OR DE , sitting there and you’re picking the 4th QB in next year crop … pick that QB later

Oh,, the Panthers win alright .. This will ( IS ) be the most fickle season in Panther history. Another twist and turn. We hate a coach, we have seen 3 QB's have decent "quarters" , then suck in most. Head coach is awful , fire him, and some of his assistants.. Interim coach is doing " ok" but we still are 3-4 with him, so that by the end of the season, half the fan base will be singing his praises and the other half wanting more in a head coach. For the most part this team gets and F on offense, and a C on defense. Special teams are better than last years lol. SO HELL YEAH WE'RE WINNING TODAY TO KEEP US IN THE HUNT ,,,, AND MAKING OUR DRAFT NOW QUITE AS GOOD. ( I don't think the QB class that is coming out is all that good , so we probably won't get a franchise QB in the draft anyway ) GO PANTHERS . BEAT the SEABIRDS -
let's talk about Brock Purdy and Mike White

We literally have NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT on our message board. -
Yes, this is an CAROLINA PANTHERS / NFL forum. For this one season I understand all the weird topics showing up here , rather than THE LOUNGE forum . There use to be a college forum too, but I see it's gone. After about week 3 or 4 , our fan base was mailing it in.. So we really are discussing firing Rhule.,, Telling everyone that might still be reading, HOW BAD ALL OUR QB's are. Who will be our next coach .. Mathematically we aren't eliminated .. What I'm saying is WE don't have Carolina Panthers football to discuss. Our season is over. So for this Panther season I have no problem seeing others discussing their college football on the NFL FORUM. Or they could move it to the Lounge.

Matt Rhule: “I wish I never took the job”
OceanPanther replied to CashNewton22's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hearing his voice just made me cringe. Knowing he lies and probably believes them. Since he was sooooo bad here, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about this , but there is no way I could ever listen to him as a commentator ( tv / radio ). . No one would hire him. I feel sorry for Nebraska. And hope they lose as long as he’s there -
He may not be THE MAN ,, but he did beat Alabama lol.. of coarse there were many other bad games. Like the opener against Ga , and last week against the beavers

Bucs, Falcons lose...let's have some more pie
OceanPanther replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we play our cards right,, we can win the division, make the playoffs, and still have a top 10 pick in next years draft . Of coarse Nu Awleans, Adlanna , and Tampa will pick before us -
Slow the horses,, We beat a bad Denver team , a bad Atlanta team.. and Tampa Bay. We lost 4 since he took over., 3-4 .. let’s give this experiment a little more time. yes he’s better than Rhule.. no he doesn’t have an NFL quarterback,, but let’s not just write checks to anyone who looks better than Rhule.. let the season play out

Who should we be looking at outside the "top 4" QB candidates?
OceanPanther replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bo Nix . Oregon . ( via Auburn ) He'll be a later round pick for some one -
The UNC offense isn’t much better than the Defense . But NCSU defense looks like they’re in the UNC huddle when tje play is called

If season ended today which QB would you take.
OceanPanther replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
None of this class have me excited. Sure, 2 might end up being franchise QB's. But we have no clue based on their college play. And who ever comes to the Panthers,, will have a rough time becoming a franchise QB. The parts to surround him aren't as good as we think we are. We're not one player away, especially a rookie QB. There is no Cam Newton, or Peyton Manning etc. Look at Trevor Lawrence.. put him on a bad team, with a "strange" head coach, and then fire the head coach, and in his second year, second offensive coordinator and he's not considered a franchise QB .. Lawrence is good, but in bad situation. So I don't think the QB we pick, and we will pick one.. will flourishes . Never forget, we are a bad team. We don't have a top 10 player at any position. ( maybe long snapper ) We've also seen teams turn it around in just a few years. -
Buckle up buttercup.. Panthers are about to score a TD

Gaylord Perry also. 2 Cy Young Awards .MLB HOF If we go old school, Sonny Jurgensen NFL HOF, & Roman Gabriel NFL MVP -
Rhule's got about 40 million left on his guaranteed contract with the Panthers, Why would he go coach again. Ole saying : " It's better to not coach and be thought a fool , than to coach and remove all doubt " Yes, I know the original saying

Jaycee Horn weighs in on the turf debate
OceanPanther replied to PantherFanInPhilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field#:~:text=Specifically%2C players have a 28,on turf compared to grass. The data supports the anecdotes you’ll hear from me and other players: artificial turf is significantly harder on the body than grass. Based on NFL injury data collected from 2012 to 2018, not only was the contact injury rate for lower extremities higher during practices and games held on artificial turf, NFL players consistently experienced a much higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries on turf compared to natural surfaces. Specifically, players have a 28% higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries when playing on artificial turf. Of those non-contact injuries, players have a 32% higher rate of non-contact knee injuries on turf and a staggering 69% higher rate of non-contact foot/ankle injuries on turf compared to grass. -
Jaycee Horn weighs in on the turf debate
OceanPanther replied to PantherFanInPhilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why do so many call Artificial Turf , turf.. when real grass has always been called turf, hence having to put the word Artificial in front of the word turf . But so many younger fans think the word turf represents on the artificial grass. Throughout the south there are Turf Farms. They do not grow plastic grass. Golf courses have turf managers, and there's no artificial grass there. Just crazy how words get highjacked lol. yeah, I know I'm going to get slammed here lol -
I disagree. I refer to the UNC fans , not you in particular. I don't know if you've made the negative post in the past.. but you can go back to comments shortly after the App State game. Even with Drake Maye, the fan base was making negative comments. Drake Maye and his offense, receiving / running back / O line have been extremely good.. The defense has even had their moments of making key stops ,, but there have been plenty of UNC fans trash talking this team. I think they have a real chance to run the table. Ga tech, NCSU, Clempson then major bowl game ( If all the Jr an Seniors don't sit out waiting for the draft )

No NFL player is going to not want to win. If he does , he won't be around very long. You can't ask them to tank. You can't ask a coaching staff to tank. Especially if there is a chance they can make the playoffs. Tanking is for fans. Personally I don't see a clear path to a franchise QB in next years draft. Probably one of the ones coming out for next seasons draft will be good, but no one can say who it is. There's no Cam, or Andrew Luck , or Payton Manning coming out. So if we draft 10-20 we still might get the one who will be good. Yes, we need to draft the best QB available. Yes, our season probably is not going to end well, but I'm all on board with the players in Panther Uniforms giving it their all. We have 3 wins. Will we get our last two season average ( 5 ) ? I think we do. I also think we get more than that. We might get 6, or more. And that's IMPROVEMENT. We suck still, but now we're getting to see players lost on the bench and practice squad. Could TMJ actually be a decent number 2 receiver ? At least now we'll get to see if he's worth keeping for next season.

Alabama great QB's that translate to the NFL game. Joe Namath, Kenny Stabler, Bart Star . NONE IN THE LAST 30 years. Yet the NFL teams keep drafting them. UNC, NCSU and DUKE have better QB's than Alabama in the NFL over the last 30 years. ( probably an exaggeration , but you know what i mean ) SAY NO TO PROPOSITION 1 Bryce Young.
