  1. Baseball is so different than our other major sports. There is no clock. Each team gets 27 outs . Players, for the most part, play offense and defense. It’s not for everyone.
  2. Braves are having an EPIC season.. It'll still come down to best of 5 or 7 games in the fall. Hope they get their two starting pitchers back. Wright and Fried. I'm a San Diego Padre fan.. Friar Faithful. It's been a difficult season for me. HUGE $$$$$ line up and can't get it together. 4 games below .500, and hoping to make a wild card run. My bull pen is the pits. I have a closer but can't get the ball to him .. WHINE WHINE WHINE. Baseball is not accessible in my opinion. I live on the coast of NC. I can not stream listening to their games on the radio because I don't live in their market. Well guess what, I don't live in the Braves market or the Nationals market. MLB is not much better than the NBA. I miss the days of being able to watch the Braves, Cubs, and Mets on cable TV free.
  3. It's only 5 degrees hotter than Satin's kitchen here along the coast.. People are sweating,, but every time I ask if they are sweating ( while on the beach ) because of Bryce's rookie contract.. they look at at me funny .. Enjoy the rest of the summer.. A month from now , there will be real conversations here on the Huddle about , do we keep 7 or 12 WR ,, and the normal non starters conversations about training camp. BRING ON SEPT 10 AND THE ADDLANA FALCONS..
  4. Our dog used the thunder shirt ,wrap, jacket. It worked to an extent, but even then he'd want to be so close to you and still shaking bad. We did use medication. I hated it, but he literally couldn't handle fireworks and thunder. For fireworks we could start it earlier in the day because we knew it was coming. He still didn't like it but wasn't as bad as without it. Thunderboomers just show up, and the thunder jacket was the best option. And holding him.. It's what we do for our pets.
  5. Q: You know how you find Texas ? A: You walk west till you smell it, then south till you step in it. Q: Why is Oklahoma so windy ? A: Because Texas Sucks ( never miss an opportunity to blast Texas and their self absorbed citizens lol ) The attendance at all the college teams in our area will sag when then teams have 30% winning percentage ( like the Panthers the past few years ) . Tickets sold versus butts in the stands also change with college teams with wins and loses. Winning is the cure to stadium culture. Green Bay fills their stadium because ice fishing is worse. Selling tickets is not the same as butts in the stands and losing teams all have this problem in every sport. WIN NOW !!!! GO PANTHERS !!!
  6. Please explain to me what large businesses don't do this. ( receive incentives from a state, city , county , etc ) It's been going on for years and will so in the future. But for some reason if a professional team does it, it's a shakedown or fleecing . State of SC trying to keep BMW happy . 70 million. This goes on everywhere , when large businesses are involved. Do you really think all the banking interest in Charlotte just decided to move to Charlotte without incentives ?? https://www.thecentersquare.com/south_carolina/article_6bb96518-4fd8-11ed-8dd0-b301aef96fa0.html#:~:text=19%2C 2022.&text=(The Center Square) — The,battery assembly facility in Woodruff.
  7. Frenchwoman Isabelle Boyer, who was first married to the American industrialist Isaac Merritt Singer (of sewing machine fame), and later to the Duke of Campo Selice of Luxembourg. In 1878, the 36-year-old Duchess de Campo Selice attracted the attention of the sculptor who forever immortalized her features in the face of Lady Liberty.
  8. The fleecing comment may be true,, but it's also how business is done in the NFL and has been for a very long time. We can paint Tepper a bad guy if we like, but he won't be doing anything different that the other owners do. It's just part of the having an NFL team in todays world in my opinion.
  9. A running back that can catch the ball out of the backfield will have a high priority place in the game today.. IF HE CAN BLOCK TOO,, He's worth every penny .
  10. I’d like others to post their 4th of July pics.. if you live in the Mtns, post lakes, views, vistas,, cities post their , rooftop views and fireworks, If you’re rual , show us why east living is the best for that .,
  11. IT'S COMING.. till then,, Happy June 29th
  12. From Bleacher report : I like the pick, NADEAU SCOOOOOOOOOOOOORES Analysis: The success rate for 30th overall picks is lower than one might think. So while Nadeau may have some warts, who cares? So does everyone available at this time. The Hurricanes got one of the draft's best pure goal scorers here. He has All-Star upside, which is more than what many teams who have drafted ahead of Carolina can say. This organization prioritizes high-end skill at the draft and knows how to mine it. Nadeau will need a lot of development in college hockey. But if he comes out the other side as the best version of himself, this will be a steal for Carolina. Pick Grade: B+ Scouting Report: Nadeau is a true dual threat offensively. His primary function is as a goal scorer. Nadeau's shot is blistering. His release is fast, the puck moves fast and he picks his spots. After the lottery players, he may be the draft's best pure shooter. The University of Maine commit uses the threat of the shot as a mechanism for taking on the role of playmaker. Faking the shot, Nadeau will send slap passes to teammates around the crease for tap-ins. He's also excellent at finding teammates for passes across the slot and particularly from rush chances. As good as Nadeau is at creating offense on the rush, or when he has space, such as on the power play, he hasn't shown nearly as much ability to create via more typical cycle sequences. Nadeau is merely an okay skating, laking real agility and ability to beat defenders one-on-one with his feet or his hands. He's raw and needs to build a more complete game, but as one looks at the end of the first round and into the second round, Nadeau is the perfect type of high-upside player worth taking a chance on.
  13. I disagree. Hopkins IS a bonafide #1 receiver. IF you can get one, and it fits your salary cap etc.. you try to get better. He would ( or should ) make Bryce better . I think it's too early to grade Mingo without live action. I also think they should know what they have with Shenault and Smith.
  14. Very sad news.. as The FUZZ said above think before you go out. Have many eyes on your friends and family. When you live on the coast, you hear about a drowning way to often. Swimming in the ocean is not like swimming in a lake, pool , creek, etc.. Some days it's better to just catch a few rays than to go for a plunge.
  15. These rankings are just for fans and the media to talk about during the week when they have nothing else to talk about. Unlike college football, rankings mean nothing in the NFL .. it's all about winning the division,, and then trying to have the best records ( not ranking ) to get home field advantages.. I have us ranked number 1 on the NFL SOUTH .. and currently ( drum roll ) Number 1 in the NFC .
  16. Ya know,, I think I heard some of y'all saying you thought Coach Rhule wasn't a good coach.. more a college coach ,, some of you were saying he wasn't "coaching players up" ,( Brady Christianson ) etc.. Some of y'all = the whole fan base.
  17. Yeah, the comments were funny, especially the Greyhound bus
  18. 90% of the post here are for fodder .. but there are some Panther ( gold ) nuggets here as well. I live on the coast and for me to find any Panther information is pretty much impossible. My local TV won't cover them on a daily or weekly bases. I don't want to pay to listen to someone's pod cast to hear his/her opinion when their opinion is no better than mine. This is free and it's going to have ads. As others have mentioned, there are pop up blockers. If someone doesn't like this site for what ever reason.. stop visiting it. If you don't , then you too have discovered this free site with pop ups is better than what ever else you use to find Panthers news or discuss Panther news . Enjoy Free Evidently I don't see them to the extent some of you do and I do not use a pop up blocker. I get no pop ups, just a 1/4 of the screen on the right side has ads, and something at the bottom. ( then again, I might be one of ZOD's chosen ones LOLOL )
  19. I see your poo,, and raise you a beer
  20. I'm hoping your NUMBER ONE Deacs can break the jinx of the number one seed not winning the CWS. The last to win it was in 1999 , Miami. Pitching Pitching Pitching
  21. Kinda nice seeing Bryce’s first game ,, on the road,, hostile territory,, Kerry Collins didn’t get to start his first game.. we watched as Frank Reich led me the team.. it’s probably the best loss I’ve ever seen,, as we were an expansion team,, and lost in overtime. I think Bryce will say playing in Baton Rouge at night was harder ( after the Panthers come away with the W ). I’m excited about this team
