  1. Shaq was a first round draft pick, 25th over all pick. Maybe we've been spoiled by our linebacker play over the years, but we expected Shaq to dominate. He consistently has played in the shadow of Luke and TD, not breaking out unto his own as a starter. Last year I didn't see him playing better than when Luke and TD were here. Lets hope we see a newer more dominate player in Shaq and all the linebackers this coming season. Shaq hasn't made it as a pro bowl player. Yeah, ya kinda expect somewhere along the line , your first round draft pick to be one of the best. Oh, we've had first round bust. And Shaq is NOT a first round bust by any means. Right or wrong , some have expected more from him.
  2. Does anyone else have concerns with the talent level at starting linebackers. ?? S Thompson has never been as advertised for a first round draft pick D Perryman, I just think he's average at best. Not very big and gets lost in the scrums H Reddick , had 12 sacks last season. Seems like our weakest corp
  3. I live on the coast. I see a lot more Hurricane gear on the beach , usually in the form or hats or tees,, but almost no Hornet gear. With the Canes success this season, I'm seeing more Hurricane flags on homes, bumper stickers, etc. Never a Hornet. Maybe you're right,, the NBA teams are city teams.. but don't tell New England that when it comes to the Celtics . I have diretv .. and we get BallyCarolina.. and the Hornets aren't included. Evidently they are as Jayboogieman mentioned on the BallySoutheast. Either way, we can't see them for free in eastern NC, and I think that is a big problem. Maybe the Hornet/ NBA doesn't care about anything east of I 95 lol. It is a lowly populated area. But it doesn't cost them to allow me to watch LOL
  4. I'm right there with you. I'd add a personal fav,, the very first game the Panthers played.. On the road in Atlanta .. We lose in overtime, but it was obvious, we were not going to be the tampa bay new franchise . We had as many fans in Atlanta as they did and when we tied it.. Panther fans were rockin the place
  5. Agreed.. Let's hope the Panthers are knocking on their door soon. Caines are rockin . LETS GO CANES
  6. I realize we are on a Charlotte based fan base message board. But teams like the Panthers transcend city or county lines. They are beloved by two states, not just the city of Charlotte. My question is, do you feel the Hornets are more than a city team ? Do you think the Hurricanes are more than a city team ? I live on the coast. I can not watch the Hornets on TV. ( unless they are on the NBA network or some national network and yeah, that doesn't happen lol ) The Hornets are rarely if ever competitive. I'm not even sure they're mediocre . The Panthers in a small market have intense following. Not so for the Hornets. Why wouldn't the Hornets front office make efforts to have their product available on TV in more locations in the Carolinas ?? So living 200 miles from an NBA team and there is little to no interest in them east of I-95. Where as the Hurricanes are on the Bally network often, ( the old Fox Sport South Carolina ) . The Hurricanes have been competitive. Even won Lord Stanley's Cup. Hockey is not a southern sport and if you don't watch it, or go to games, you can't really grasp the nuances. Where as basketball is very prevalent in NC and no one has to figure out what off sides is lol. So do you Hornets fan follow the Hurricanes and their success ? or even care ? Because I really don't think there is a much of a following for the Hornets outside of 75 miles of Charlotte. A history of a poorly run team doesn't help the Hornets case.
  7. That was FUN .. repost the first week of Sept
  8. The team prefers 1 PM starts. I really dislike night games lol.
  9. Along with Teddy being gone,, I also hope Matt Rhule learned a lot about coaching in the NFL,, clock management etc. I think he probably has,, and I am a fan of Rhule, but he was on a learning curve last year. Key players out for many games ( CMC , Donte' Jackson etc ) I think he did pretty well, a High B+ . But he's got to continue to improve as well..
  10. Can't wait for the conversation on uniform/ helmet colors lol.. It's coming, it does every year . But for now, it's players numbers
  11. Short Story : A brief narrative, whos all constituent parts, unite, to make one complete thought. Hoping to read more during this next successful campaign on the B of A turf 2021
  12. Panther 12-5 Bucs 12-5 . Panthers win tie breaker with the 10th tie breaking rule. " Best Net Points In ALL Games " We didn't take a knee at the end of 4 games to score touchdowns in the last minutes. Nu awlens 7-10 Addlana 2- 15
  13. I think we get an A for the draft . It appears those who are( were ) in love with Fields will not like our draft. Those who might agree with the talking heads , who say the CB and DE are the second most important positions on the field. ( behind QB ) Bleacher Report gave us the most improved team overall draft . https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2942352-nfl-teams-that-improved-the-most-through-the-2021-nfl-draft
  14. Agent Blue,, you have some real problems lol.. Your glass is really half empty with your thought process of things that haven't happened.. While others glasses , seeing the same players , are half full , not knowing what will happen.. You are what is referred to as a " debbie downer " because you didn't get your way. Personally my glass is not only half full but refillable .. We are getting rave reviews on our draft.. ( unlike the justin fields fans here who didn't get their way )
  15. Someone has to offer us something. Just because we want to trade back doesn’t mean there are takers
  16. I don't see us trading back ,,, until we know who's off the board already. Say something weird happens and Pitts is available at 8.. we'd be killing ourselves if he was available and we'd traded out of that spot.
  17. Ok.. what's going to make you want to blow up the boards if we draft a ?? Quarterback Left Tackle Cornerback Tight End For me ,, it's QB .. we have more pressing needs at other positions. ( lets face it.. we're picking a QB with that 6th pick from Denver. )
  18. This question is sorta like .. Do you call them purse pants or Cargo Shorts
  19. BBQ sauce is cooked into the meat,, not for dipping .. shrug.. Cole slaw is never eaten along lol.. Now server him some Low Country Boil ( Frogmore Stew ) .. Find it along the Carolina Coast from Beaufort NC to Beaufort SC
  20. No way we pick a QB at 8 after picking up Darnold .. Should Kyle Trask , Kellen Mond, or Davis Mills be available in later rounds, I could see us taking one. But at 8 we're taking the best player available. Not best QB available. Trading back.. Some one has to want our pick at 8 and be willing to give up a lot. We can get a really good starter for US at 8... so for us to trade back , they're going to have to give me a lot. There are numerous teams picking late in the first round in need of Wide Receivers. This is a loaded draft for WR.. But these teams would have to give us A LOT.. maybe their starting left tackle lol and 2 first, 2 seconds. etc.. Green Bay, Indianapolis , Philly, New England. New England would be my guess. But I don't think anyone will offer enough and we'll get our own pick at 8
