There are a lot of empty Industrial Parks in NC ,, not just NC , but nationally. I witnessed Cumberland County ( Fayetteville ) built the right way. I live in Wilmington , but traveled to Fayetteville weekly. Back in the late 70's and 80's they brought in Black & Decker, Monsanto, Purolator , Goodyear , and a small Dupont facility. Good clean industry, paid their employees decent. They had a huge work force to pick from ( many Military vets once they got out ) . Now many of these are closed, and like our textile industry, moved to different states of out of the country. I don't know how much credit should go to their local politicians ( Cumberland Cty ) . or what, but someone got it right. Its a shame that in most counties ,, the largest employer are the governments. ( local, state, national ) . Your court systems, DSS, and all the federal programs, ( now HHS ) , law enforcement, local colleges and community colleges, school systems etc etc. So no wonder government keeps getting bigger, it's feeding so many in every county.

This has always been true,, the teams that win, their message boards complain about how some one stood on the sideline, or dressed,, while the 70 % of the teams that lose often have message boards where ever poster thinks he can coach, knows what's "really" going on behind the scene , etc ..

I think it's safe to say this was one of the major reason Watson wouldn't pick the panthers.. " trade away half the team" , What he'd be be left with on both sides of the ball. What would excite The Texans in what they'd receive from us, would not excite Watson,, just the opposite. There's another thread, WHY WOULD WATSON PICK CAROLINA .. well, if you read those replies,, it's pretty clear there weren't good reasons. I even mentioned that the Saints had the better team to offer him. Starting with our coaching,,( Rhule ) vs a new head coach for the Saints, they still looked better in coaching. That's sad. I don't think offering The Texans our best players was good for us getting Watson ,because it wasn't good for Watson.

There’s always a sub basement..

Currently, New Orleans has a better "team" / roster , than the Falcons or our Panthers. They've won 58 games in the last 5 years. Depending on what they have to give up to get Watson, they'd be ready to compete with Tampa this season. We aren't .

I read on the Saints board, a post saying , Watson started following the Falcons yesterday and they him. He doesn't follow any of the other teams involved. I don't do twitter , so can't verify

Salary Cap for the Horses in the Race**
OceanPanther replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not trying to nitpick, but that wasn’t the question.. I was just using Ryan as an example. once a deal is made with one of these teams, their cap situation will change from the figures you shared .. still great information, glad you shared the numbers . -
Salary Cap for the Horses in the Race**
OceanPanther replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Keep in mind, these number are all before a deal is done. We don't know what any team will be giving up. It won't be just draft picks Example : what if Matt Ryan is part of the deal Atlanta offers ? what would change for them ? -
The "PLAN" and " SCHEDULE" are working, I heard Rhule say so..

Just a thought. Watson has to waive his no trade clause to go anywhere. Just for the sake of conversation.. lets say he waives it for the Panthers, BUT, he's can have input on decimating the team he's going to, Saints, Panthers etc.. He's not going to want all the best skill players on defense of a team he's going to be traded away. No matter who the team is, he doesn't have to waive the no trade clause if he sees a team decimated on defense, or all the wide receivers traded away. I think he has more leverage than we give him credit for. Oh,, we have 140 plus pages on trade for Watson,, the Saints only have 96.. we must hate him or love him more

Father Time is undefeated for sure.. but he gave Tom a different clock ..

"Don't Go Shopping At The Grocery Store When You're Hungry" Panthers ( David Tepper ) are very hungry for a franchise QB . He's patient enough to get one through the draft but is there a franchise QB in this draft ? probably not . We've also seen since seeing the QB's in this years combine, teams in search for a QB ( Denver , Washington ) have traded for a veteran because this years draft on QB's , just isn't that good, So the talk is 3 first round picks. plus other "stuff " .. This years first round pick, in a trade for Watson is a no brainer. But the next two first round picks is where the tire hits the road. Year Team CMP% YDS TD INT Rating 2020 Texans 70.2 4,823 33 7 112.4 2019 Texans 67.3 3,852 26 12 98.0 2018 Texans 68.3 4,165 26 9 103.1 2017 Texans 61.8 1,699 19 8 103.0 Those stats are that of a franchise QB ( top 10 QB ) We can draft a QB the next two years and not have someone with stats like that. Or we can trade for a Kurt Cousin or Jimmy Garoppolo etc and not stats close to that. ( not to mention we have a Sam Darnald as a back up ) So we'll have a QB like this or a QB from this years draft. I don't think either choice is a potential franchise QB .. So on paper he's worth it. How much more they trade in the deal is much more debatable. CMC is my current favorite player. But he's also the player with the potential value. I don't want to have to include any of our young defensive players. Shaq Thompson might still have some value and I'd trade him.
-
Personally, I think it would make our franchise a media circus.. We don't need to be in anyone's spotlight till we're a good football team. Some say all publicity is good.. I don't think being the NFL circus is positive.
-
Ok,, I'm in, 3 number 1's .. 1) Our First round this season,, a non criminal Watson is worth our first pick 2022 2) Sam Darnald , Yup, he's a 1st round pick ( dumb Jets and Panthers ) 3a) Shaq Thompson .. another first round pick.. ( CMC is 3b ) That's ALL I'm willing to give up in the Florio scenario .

Whole lot of Deshaun Watson chatter happening out there
OceanPanther replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not sure I follow.. So you're saying he's found guilty of all or some of these assaults' or sexual predator stuff,, and we sign him anyway ? Then I concur with you . If he's found to have done these things, the NFL will handle all our problems of him signing here, Or are you saying because so many came forward and filed civil suits against him that he's guilty just because of the sheer numbers,, some may be lying but all can't be ( where there's smoke, there's fire ) ? If it all disappears because he paid them all off ( it was a big shake down by the ladies ) , but was guilty in your mind due to sheer numbers ? No matter what, he's guilty in your mind ? this is not me saying he's innocent till proven guilty in a court of law ,, but there are a lot of big name people in all professions that are not guilty of anything and pay them off, and some that are guilty of things, pay off someone and we still listen to their music, what them play basketball etc. -

And that's ok.. Each fans tolerance level is different. Some can only tolerate a winner LOL.. but some of us sit here win or lose.. I'll welcome them all back with open arms, because that would be we'd be winning. lol. Part of me wants all that to happen,, but there's a raw part of me who still wants Rhule gone. -
2022 Charlotte FC Game Thread
OceanPanther replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Football Club
I rarely visit any forums other than the Panthers .. enjoy your comments there sometimes etc.. So if I ignore you here on the soccer forum, for basically trolling lol, will it ignore you on Panthers also ?? -
I still think , after observing Rhules 2021 draft,, we can't rule out Long Snappers with our first pick. Rhule is drooling over these 4. IF we trade back, we'll never get these guys .. Cal Adomitis ,Pitt.. Damon Johnson , USC Erik Dickerson, Arz St John Taylor, Duke
-
You mentioned this being possibly a weak draft... So who's going to want to give up what you are suggesting for a 6th pick ? I think Philly likes all their first rounder right where they are
-
Could we really pick something other than QB or o-line at 6?
OceanPanther replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I could see us going in another direction,, maybe a 3rd Long Snapper.. can't have too many ya know.. ( having an extra person who can kick an extra point in a pinch is extreme ) .. But Offensive linemen ( more than one ) , and QB would be nice. But I understand the long snapper angle too -
Fans are just frustrated. They ( we ) want to see change and it's not happening fast enough. If a fan is leaving because of the results of the last two seasons.. he/ she would also leave all message boards, radio call in shows,, etc.. But fans will be here. Even if it's to whine and complain. Go back 3-4 years,, before Rhule.. pick any in game thread we use here.. you'll see fans whining on every play call, or missed tackle.. then the next play goes for a touchdown or a big pick up and they still want to whine about the play two plays ago. " EVERY FAN THANKS HE/SHE CAN COACH AND COOK A STEAK" Panther fans will still come here and whine if we lose,, and some will whine if we win. We're fans. Will they go to the games if we suck ? many won't. Will fans watch on TV if we suck again, MANY WON'T ,, but they'll come here and whine
