Agree 100%. But great for us
-
Am I the only one ok with no WRs in round 2? If that happens it means it was a run on WRs and it pushed some really good players to us.
-
Agree, older QBs that started for 4-5 years scare me. They might look good year 1, but year 2 usually rough. I mean, what is their untapped potential and upside? The last 1-2 years have been men playing against boys.
-
I hope not, and I think not, but I wouldn’t rule it out. If there is someone we really want and the cost is ok, I can see it happen. Would also give us year 5 for that player. Overall it will be a fascinating first round, feels like anything could happen.

Why is no one considering double dip at WR?
Martin replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Couldn’t disagree more, reaching for a position even when it is not BPA is a Panthers thing to do. Taking BPA would be very refreshing and the right thing to do. -

We need to go BPA, and I don’t expect that to be a WR double dip. It might not be a WR at all tbh.- 129 replies

🚨Tony Pauline: Panthers interested in CB Mike Sainristril @33

The JPJ and Cooper combo in the second round would be awesome -
Would you grab falling star t'vondre sweat?
Martin replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
That exactly where I was at as well. Now I’m hesitant. But it is ok to start taking chances in the 4th and 5th round, so that’s where I would still consider him. Canales strikes me as someone who could be a good fit for Sweat, but that’s just a feeling I have, and I obviously don’t know that as a fact. -
According to Legette, Panthers will draft Legette at #33

There is also not a lot separating them from DBs… -

I think those teams would be a great fit for him. He would be option 3ish, plays designed for him etc. So for those teams he could be a high pick. For us I don’t see him being a fit until the 3rd round, but by then he’ll probably be gone. -

I agree, super likable guy, exciting to watch, but still raw despite being older. Wouldn’t take him in round 2, but would consider in round 3 if he’s there because the Panthers need day 1 starters with the two 2nd rounders. And he’s not a day 1 starter. -
This one is unrealistic but fantastic:

PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take
Martin replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was pretty bad a deep throws in college, so it was not a surprise that carried over to the NFL. -

I don’t mind Wiggins at 33, trading back from 39 and missing out on another starter on the other hand… -
Draft Rumors/Charlie Campbell Notes (Per r/NFL_Draft)
Martin replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
That is concerning. He was my #1 guy, but that is a rough injury history -
I don’t get the obsession in trading back, moving out if a potentially great player at 33 and 39, and net a fourth rounder or similar. It makes 0% sense. Only way I would move back is if someone lost their mind and offered us a ridiculous return, I have no interest in the value chart. We need quality, not quantity. It was one of the many reasons Fitt was terrible.

Agree with you on the BPA. I know Philips at CB is someone Brugler was tweeting about the other day, and I trust his opinion, so that’s why I went with him. Not a fan of some of the other CBs projected in rounds 2-3. Would love Wiggins to fall and take him at 33, but I don’t think that will happen.
-
We should be able to get another really good player this year, as long as the lottery doesn’t mess anything up. What are your favorite players? I don’t know that much about him, but the SG from Kentucky looks like a ridiculous shooter. +50% from the 3pt line!

This is probably my dream scenario. I would go for any of the big three Cs with the first pick, Barton just happened to be there:
-
Great write up, I would be with be super happy with your picks at 33 and 39.

Snyder started out by spending tons of money on big name has beens. Very different imo.
