I agree with you that it is worth watching. What I think is the difference is that Sam won’t be afraid to take a shot when it presents itself. Teddy on the other hand essentially passed out with fear if he had to go deep. I’m hopeful, but we’ll see.

Early on they said the were working on eliminating mistakes, trust his reads/take what the defense gives you and it looks like it is working, “Darnold hasn’t been doing much downfield lately, which he said is more about following his reads than anything scheme-related.” But hey, jumping right in to “... the pass game struggling.” is one way to look at it.

I expect Moton to LT happening soon. My biggest concern is Eflein at LG. Hopefully I’m wrong or Daley steps in.

“In over their head” is complete nonsense. Trying to gain insights from established and successful head coaches is a very smart thing to do. Being open to potentially different ways of doing things if they show to be better is great. Sounds like you are looking for an arrogant insecure coach who does things his way or the highway. If that is true you will be disappointed with our HC. Myself I think it is great that he shows a willingness to try new things to gain an edge. But again, we might just have a different ideal coach, and that’s ok.

Do you remember where you saw about Moton wanting play LT? Couldn’t be more excited if this is true.

I don’t necessarily a bad thing. Him and Reich agreed to go all out with the 1s in practice and play the 2s and 3s in the game. They might do something similar this week. Taking input from another coach is not a weakness, taking feedback and being open to suggestions is a strength.

Agree with you on this one. Thinking it will be Moton on the left and Christensen on the right (maybe not the first game, but eventually).

Listening to Mick you never knew if we got a first down or not, you never knew how long a play was etc. It was an absolute guessing game for the listener. You had to wait until the next snap to fully understand what happened the previous snap. I have no doubt he is a wonderful person, but he was an awful announcer.

I actually like to hear different opinions and view points, but some posters are taking every thread and make it in to a pissing match, taking what was a good two-sided discussion and make it about them. Some are obvious and funny, like the Teddy troll one. But the few that over and over derails every thread just overshadowes what I come to this board for.

Not sure if you subscribe to the Athletic or not, but Joe is doing a lot of good writing in there, not the same as when he was at the Observer. I know a lot of people like to bash him because he is not breaking news. His article today about Jaycee Horn was excellent.

Here is his comment on Slater “...and I believe he can excel at left tackle...”. You might have missed it.

It is great for a tackle to have long arms, but it doesn’t mean you can’t be a great tackle with “just” 33 arms. The best LT in the last decade, Joe Thomas, has 33 arms, and so does Joe Staley (good comp for Slater imo). But great feet + long arms is ideal. But I think both Sewell and Slater will be great LTs.

Someone shared the Darnold to Robby stats a few weeks back, and they were really good. Darnold’s stats when leading are also not bad. His stats when trying to come from behind (and not throwing to Robby) are horrendous. Is that because Darnold sucks? Maybe. Is it because his coach is the worst in the league, his o-line and support cast stunk? Maybe. I’m a glass half full person, so I hope we can bring out Darnold’s good side with good coaching and a strong support cast.

Love the first three rounds! I don’t know enough to judge the later rounds.

Detroit is the wildcard for me. I think they’ll trade with a team looking for a QB. But if not they might take Sewell. Nightmare scenario if Sewell gets past Cindy.

This would be an awesome problem to have. And I think our QB coach is next man up

Thank you for sharing a different opinion and “justifying” why. There is way too much name calling and yelling at huddle in general. My opinion differs from yours, but that’s what makes a good discussion.
