I appreciate it!

I saw this mentioned the other day. How do you block someone/not seeing posts from someone? There are a few posters that just ruin most threads so I figure I give that a try. Thanks!

Panthers Confidential - A Look Into the Panthers Offseason
Martin replied to DeSim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Voth is confirming it wasn’t Fields: -
Not sure if you subscribe to the Athletic or not, but Joe is doing a lot of good writing in there, not the same as when he was at the Observer. I know a lot of people like to bash him because he is not breaking news. His article today about Jaycee Horn was excellent.

Here is his comment on Slater “...and I believe he can excel at left tackle...”. You might have missed it.

LTs & arm length (basically: This draft's OTs are great but...)
Martin replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is great for a tackle to have long arms, but it doesn’t mean you can’t be a great tackle with “just” 33 arms. The best LT in the last decade, Joe Thomas, has 33 arms, and so does Joe Staley (good comp for Slater imo). But great feet + long arms is ideal. But I think both Sewell and Slater will be great LTs. -
Someone shared the Darnold to Robby stats a few weeks back, and they were really good. Darnold’s stats when leading are also not bad. His stats when trying to come from behind (and not throwing to Robby) are horrendous. Is that because Darnold sucks? Maybe. Is it because his coach is the worst in the league, his o-line and support cast stunk? Maybe. I’m a glass half full person, so I hope we can bring out Darnold’s good side with good coaching and a strong support cast.

Love the first three rounds! I don’t know enough to judge the later rounds.

Detroit is the wildcard for me. I think they’ll trade with a team looking for a QB. But if not they might take Sewell. Nightmare scenario if Sewell gets past Cindy.
-
This would be an awesome problem to have. And I think our QB coach is next man up
-
Thank you for sharing a different opinion and “justifying” why. There is way too much name calling and yelling at huddle in general. My opinion differs from yours, but that’s what makes a good discussion.

The below link has all offensive snaps from three different Northwestern games. Fun to watch Slater. Admittedly not an O-line expert, but man does he move well. His second level run blocking is awesome, on top of really good pass blocking. He definitely feels like a drop in instant starter at LT. Would be a perfect fit for us. https://draftwire.usatoday.com/2021/02/27/2021-nfl-draft-rashawn-slater-northwestern-film-room-video/

1.a Sewell 1.b Slater

In my opinion we have to come away from round 1 with one of the three elite LTs. I wouldn’t risk trading back. I hear people saying names in round 2 such as Eichenberg (btw his arms are 32 3/8...) and Leatherwood (who was abused by speed rushers), but that’s not good enough. We might as well just keep Trent Scott there if that is the case. We have a chance to come away with a very good LT for the next 10 years, it is a no brainer!

Breer talks about Gase (and Tannehill; oh, and Darnold)
Martin replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was enlightening and also speaks to what a terrible coach Gase is -
What’s your hesitation about Slater at LT? I’m not good at judging o-line, so I have to lean on “draft experts”. Curious what’s holding you back? great list btw

Has the trade for Sam Darnold changed your outlook on the 2021 season?
Martin replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we come out of the draft with Sewell or Slater, I’ll be super excited. Think Darnold can do fairly well behind a good O-Line and our RB/WRs -
Between Pitts, Slater and Sewell, we will get a fantastic prospect. Going to hope QBs at every pick before ours. Should be a really exciting draft. Bonus: we don’t have to worry about drafting Mac Jones!!!
-
I saw that Sewell had the infamous 33 arms everyone freaks out about. I personally don’t care in his case, but will it make him drop a few more spots to us?

M&M: QBs we are not talking about much (Mond/Mills)
Martin replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hard no to Mond. A 45 game starter shouldn’t have that many issues. The upside we see based on tools etc. in fairly inexperienced QBs doesn’t apply. We know who he is at this point. -
100% agree with this. He has started 45 games!!! He should not be this up and down at this point. If he only had one season as a starter, I could see going for his upside based on his arm etc. But he has proven who he is at this point.

I know it is very optimistic, but as of now, I feel Pitts to Atl and Chase to Bengals makes the most sense. Dolphins desperately needs weapons for Tua, so WR also makes sense. Detroit is a wild card, no doubt.
