  1. I agree. Unfortunately there has been limited good news out of training camp, so it is hard to play up positives. Close to all deep balls have ended up short (classified as great breakups by the db…) etc. I hope he surprises all of us and has a great season, that would be fantastic. It is just an unusual lack of positives coming out of camp from all beat writers.
  2. This 100%. He seems like a super nice guy.
  3. Not sure about Dak to be honest. While I believe he would help take us to the playoffs, Dallas is pretty loaded and he hasn’t been able to take them to the promised land. I’d rather gamble again on a rookie so we can spend more to surround him with more talent.
  4. He sure did. However, it will be interesting to see how he does when defenses force him to play in the pocket/within structure. But no doubt he has all the physical abilities needed.
  5. Yes that is brutal, honest, but brutal. And sadly not surprising.
  6. I don’t expect much of a turning point performance wise, tbh I expect us to be quite bad on offense lol. But I expect us to start turning in the right direction, see some progress, and then draft a new QB next year with some good things in place for that QB to succeed. Hopefully I’m completely wrong and we somehow look good with Bryce at the helm.
  7. Obviously you need good players for success, nobody disputes that. However, I think Carroll was a massive reason for their success.
  8. I 100% agree with you, I might have miss interpreted what you wrote. He seems high on accountability from what I’ve heard, but maybe more of it is behind closed doors.
  9. He comes from Seattle/Carroll and they were all about positivity while being extremely successful. Not saying it will work, but also not dismissing the style. The thinking that a HC has to be an asshole is, in my mind, a thing of the past. As an example, Reid and Harbaugh are extremely well liked by their teams, they are positive and good guys who knows when to put their foot down and have built a great culture. Dismissing Canales after one pre season game where he was happy that our defense looked good (I thought it looked good as well) and didn’t chew out offensive practice squad players and backups is a stretch in my mind. But as I usually say, it’s ok to disagree on these things.
  10. Maybe it was just me, but with a QB as bad as Plummer starting while resting the whole starting offense, I can’t say I was surprised one bit.
  11. Until Bryce shows me something this season is all about QB for me.
  12. I agree. We will be a pretty bad team with our starters this year, so obviously our backups will look bad. Plummer is a practice squad QB at best etc. Yes it was brutal, but that was expected. I don’t know why this was a surprise to anyone.
  13. Agree, I think defense looked good. No offense in the league would look good with Plummer at QB, he is awful. So overall in line with expectations
  14. Just curious, what in this game gives you that feeling?
  15. I would think so, Plummer is as terrible as expected.
  16. I agree, and the plays seem to get out there on time, so a good start for Canales.
  17. I think 0% said they wouldn’t watch the game, people just said they’d enjoyed the Olympics this year. Both can be true
  18. It is always fun to watch a couple of players. How is DJ doing after looking good at camp? Will he or someone else show some life at our OLB spots? Mingo could have turned the corner at WR. What about the o-line. And as mentioned above, how will Canales do in a live game situation.
  19. The prime time show is really well done, best in a long time. I’ve enjoyed it, no doubt.
  20. This is sadly 100% true. Well stated
  21. This is a struggle. You don’t have to do it often, but you have to at a minimum make the defense account for it to make them cover the whole field.
  22. He needs to play enough games to be able to make a decision for next year. If he looks great and play all games, that would be surprising but awesome. If he looks bad, he needs enough games to make it an easy decision to draft a new QB next year. There can be no situation where we say “we need to see more of him…”. That would be absolute worst case.
  23. I fully agree on the o-line, and overall I’m optimistic long term. We are building an offense to give strong support to a QB. Oline, RB (Brooks as starter, Chuba as rb2), WR (Dionte is a very good starter) and TE. At QB, it will most likely not be Bryce (I hope I’m wrong), but we are setting our current or future QB up for success, and that is my reason for optimism even though this year might be a bit rough with Bryce at the helm.
  24. So everyone but himself said he had a good day. He holds himself to a very high standard and expects more from himself. And now that is a bad thing? Am I missing something?
