  1. Ron’s strength is a culture builder, perfect for stopping a disaster of an org and get them close to normal. Then someone else will have to take over to take them from normalized to good. Ron is not a bad choice for the Jets, but I’m not sure they have the patience to start doing things the right way.
  2. Fair, however Snyder never changed and is also a terrible person. I don’t think Tepper is a bad guy, and I think he is learning and changing. So that is what makes them different. Tepper made a massive mistake initially not cleaning house and keeping Marty. That lead to the hiring of Rhule and eventually Fitt. And we are still paying for it.
  3. And we coached and played aggressively to get us in to FG range as well. Big momentum swing when we missed that FG before halftime. Not that it would have mattered overall, but took some of our momentum away nonetheless.
  4. The big difference for us is that Tepper wants to win and he’s prepared to spend to make it happen. What he has struggled with is trusting the wrong people and hiring the wrong people.
  5. I agree that the opposing view should be ok. What I see too much of is a small number of people trying to jump in and “destroy” threads that they oppose. We get it that their opinion is different and that the opposing view is somehow a huge trigger. But they can’t stand a discussion they don’t agree with. So by not moderating, they take over and destroy every thread, making most people not engage, hence we miss out on a potentially good discussion. However, that is essentially impossible to moderate, so I don’t blame the mods in this case. It’s not like being a mod is a full time paid position. Mods are volunteers. I don’t have a solution, outside of people being less angry and growing up, I just wanted to share my perspective.
  6. 100% agree. Yes the roster is bad, but what has been done to elevate what he has? We have two years of missed assignments and confusion, poor tackling etc. And the defense he left behind is better than it was when he was there. We need someone new.
  7. There are a couple of really strong DCs with HC experience out there. Saleh, Eberflus etc.
  8. The funny thing here is that the HC they ended up wasn’t their first choice, they picked second which left them with the best two QBs in the draft to pick from etc. Sometimes you also need a bit of luck.
  9. He has probably the best set up of any QB in the league, but good for him, he seems like a really good guys.
  10. There are very few elite QBs. You need a great overall team to win in the playoffs and win the superbowl. You need to continue to build a great team and hope your QB develops or that you stumble in to one. “Chasing” an elite QB at the cost of the team gets you nowhere. I have serious doubts Bryce will get us where we want to be (hopefully I’m wrong), but we need to build our team next year and give Bryce one more year to see what he can do.
  11. Good one, Bryce did really well building up to that joke, funny stuff. I can see why he’s really well liked in the locker room.
  12. I think Graham will be there and will be our pick. The two QBs and Hunter will be gone. And there will be at least two standouts from the combine, and then all of a sudden Graham’s “short arms” will be an issue for teams. It happens every year
  13. If, and it’s a big if, XL can improve his hands in the offseason (like Chuba did), that would be a massive improvement to the WR group overall. XL did a really good job with route running and getting open to his year which was something I didn’t expect.
  14. We need a defense that can stop the run, and I’m not sure that is Evero’s thing. He has not had much to work with with our personnel, but his philosophy of a smaller NT etc. gives me a lot of hesitation.
  15. Winning in December against a team fighting for the playoffs is a meaningful win. It shows everyone playing hard for the coach and each other. It matters. Also, the talk about stopping the run? I think it will come through loud and clear in FA and the draft.
  16. That’s where my head is at as well. If we draft him I hope I’m wrong. I want a great player, not a player that is not great yet but has the potential to be great.
  17. He strikes me as a guy that loves making splash plays and then he goes silent. When he makes a play you definitely see him as he celebrates a lot. I’m relatively uninformed about him tbh, but I’m very concerned about his run defense and if he cares about it or not. Maybe someone that has seen him a lot can add something here
  18. It’s not a great draft, so I’m not that concerned. I really enjoyed the win.
  19. If so, the NCAA should just, imo, that it is all sports or none, and I don’t think the SEC has an appetite for that.
  20. The 12 team format is a play in. Arguing that one team would be #12 over another is just semantics as both would get stomped. It is about finding the best team, not which of four is most deserving of being #12
  21. I’m still in the camp if switching to a 4-3 and draft Graham in the first. There seem to be a fair amount of 4-3 DEs that would be around in round 2. Would completely change our d-line and defense
  22. “…a Colorado fan…”. Well played lol
  23. This year I think most of the top 8 teams have a chance tbh
  24. Yup. There is not a single team outside of the 12 that would have a chance, and that is the whole idea, to make sure everyone with a chance gets in. Who is 11 or 12 is irrelevant.
  25. We need more SEC teams in the playoffs…
