Both QBs have flaws/potential issues and it’s ok to admit to it
-
The denial it takes to argue that everyone outside of the Young crowd on the Huddle is wrong and Young’s size is not considered a potential issue is staggering

Albert Breer's insights on the Panthers and other Top 10 teams
Martin replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Breer is very good, really like him. He also clearly states this is his opinion. His “breadcrumbs” are currently the test score from Young (no one knows Strouds score) and the fact that Teppers like Young’s parents. He might be correct, but not much there to be honest. I think we might get better insights once all visits are over and the team actually meet to discuss the pick in more detail. -
Dane Brugler's 2023 Draft Guide a.k.a. "The Beast"
Martin replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Brugler is the best, not even close. He highlights all the strengths/weaknesses/concerns in a great way. -
Which QB Best Fits Reichs RPO Style Offense?
Martin replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
A lot of people downplay Strouds processing and understanding of the game, not sure why? -
If we pick Young I hope it carries over from College. I just think Stroud is the overall better NFL prospect.
-
I believe Young can do more with less, but I also think Stroud can do more with more. Currently I believe we have a team and coaches where Stroud would excel behind what Young can do.

Thank you. It is such a weird logic for me. Back in the day when betting on stuff the odds were a simple multiplier. E.g. if the odds were 2.5 you got you betting amount x 2.5. So $100 turned in to $250. Sooooooo much easier in my mind. But I also use the metric system…

I don’t bet. How does a -150 work? Why would you bet 150 to win 100? It’s a guaranteed loss of 50. Obviously I’m missing something here.

Hahaha, I’m the same way. I tell myself to step away, but then I get pulled back in.

I like the Michigan TE later in the draft, can’t remember his name.
-
From what I’ve seen you’ve been extremely open to discuss strengths and weaknesses. The majority has not.

Someone really really good will be there for us to take. Will be really fun to watch the end of the first round, early second round this year to see who “falls”.
-
I appreciate you interpreting it correctly I believe they have different areas where they are better than each other, but in general they are close in most of them. However, most of the time it does feel like the Young supporters believe that Young is better or the same in every area. Him being short is actually great and one of his many strengths etc. It is ok to admit he’s not perfect. He can still be your guy. I think that’s where a lot if the discussions go sideways.

David Newton: Panthers leaning toward Bryce Young
Martin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t. -
I’m prefer Stroud, and believe the same thing. I like it even more when you can combine it with a strong arm, that’s the ideal situation.

David Newton: Panthers leaning toward Bryce Young
Martin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m totally cool to disagree, I like most of the debate as different perspectives are good. Reading your statement it seem to infer that Stroud can’t move and throw out if the pocket. And I think that is one the big differences is between us. I believe he can. I also believe that the majority of plays are still made from the pocket. I believe Stroud is the better passer. I also don’t believe Young can run around in the NFL as he did in college. But if you do, I totally understand why you prefer him. -
Personally I only use discredited sources since nobody credible would even dare to think Young is anything short of perfect in any way.

David Newton: Panthers leaning toward Bryce Young
Martin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you ignore his size and arm strength he probably is the best QB in the draft. But that’s not really how it works in real life though. Stroud is widely considered the best pure passer in the draft, so it comes down to your preference in what you are looking for. I think they are very close, so I’ll side on the one I think is the better overall passer and the one better suited to win from the pocket. But I understand people enamored with Young’s skill set as well.
