Can we create two threads for the first pick, one for celebrating and one for whining? I would hate for the celebration thread to be overtaken by the few folks that has been spamming negativity in every thread the last few weeks. I’m usually very open to the back and forth, but let’s make tomorrow a fun one.

It absolutely looks like Young is the choice, no doubt about it. But nothing is official. So it is just a bad choice of words.

I have seen people bashing Young and his size, but I have not seen people bashing Young supporters with nicknames etc. There are a very small, select set of Young bashers that are behaving nuts, but it’s been focused on the player. Bashing the supporters is a one sided thing (unless I’ve missed it).

Their overall player ranking is wild, with Levis as the number one QB…

With a shorter QB, G has a higher value than normal. Would it be worth looking at Torrence with our second rounder? Is he that good? I didn’t see many Florida games so I don’t know.

I’ll be honest Eric, I have no idea why me saying I didn’t think Young was surrounded by scrubs is such a trigger for you. I also have no idea why you keep bringing in Ohio State as I literally said Strouds offense was better than Young’s. But it is ok to disagree. I don’t think Young was surrounded by scrubs, but you don’t agree, and that’s cool.

I think Ohio State had a better offensive line up. Alabama had a much better defense, nobody is questioning that. Everyone is questioning that Young was surrounded by scrubs and no names. Which teams that Alabama played this year had a better roster than Alabama outside of Georgia? Would love for you to answer that question.

I think Young has gotten in to a habit of extending plays even when he doesn’t have to. He will have to change that up in the NFL and take what is available more often. But that should be an easy transition in my opinion.

Our head coach said Young’s size was a concern. Obviously not enough of a concern, but a concern nonetheless.

I wanted Stroud, but I’m extremely happy with the very thorough process we’ve used to arrive at out pick. It feels like we haven’t left any stones unturned and I also think we have a very strong front office and coaching staff. It has been proven over and over again that Tepper is asking the tough questions without dictating the action, which is exactly what you want. This is without doubt a decision made by Fitterer and Reich, if you think otherwise you are just in denial. Young seems to be the pick and this is the most excited I’ve been in a long time for the Panthers.

I still get surprised how offended people get with anything Cam related, he was awesome but he wasn’t perfect, and that’s ok. They comparison was just regarding one aspect of Cam’s game, not the overall player. And it was an opinion not aimed at being negative about Cam, but highlighting something being undervalued with Richardson.

It is extremely flawed, despite what Thomas Davis says. Any SEC team would be destroyed by the worst team in the NFL. If you argue otherwise I don’t know what to say.

I think people know that reason is out the window in this case and are just letting it be. There essentially is the Young supporters, the Stroud supporters, and Rippadonn is part of a third group. I’ve always admired his passion, but this is something completely different.

I’m a Stroud guy, but coming around to Young thanks to Rippadonn. If he is that strongly against Young, Young has a chance to be special.

I think a poll would be good. Who I think and who I want. Only three players, Young, Stroud and Richardson. Just make all options available, e.g. think Young but want Stroud

It’s like a factory. They find someone young and promising, develop them to an excellent reporter, send them off and bring in someone new. It is pretty impressive tbh.

Everyone acknowledges that he is small. But many feel it is not a huge deal. That where opinions differ. And you can chose to accept that other people have a different opinion or pretend like everyone has to agree with yours.

There was a bunch of “I guess you’re going to no longer support the team” kind of crap a little while back. But if that’s wasn’t you I apologize.
