Exactly. Batted balls is like 75% o-line fault and 25% QB's fault. QB's fault for staring down where they are going to throw it, and o-lines fault for not getting theit defender's hands down. Stats have shown that there is no correlation to height and batted balls.

Can someone explain why the Lions are playing the Chiefs on opening night?

Crazy the hype they get. We beat them with Sam Darnold last year.

Offense sells tickets and is entertaining.

  3. OP is 100% right in the fact that if we win that Bucs game, we set ourselves back 4 years. This offseason would have been GRIM!

As for tanking, I think most of us have different definitions of "tanking". I was ALL FOR tanking, which for me meant resting key starters and letting more young guys play to see what we have (which also meant losing more). Take that last Saints game for example, we lost TWO IMPORTANT players on our o-line to major injuries and now probably won't even be ready for the season. That game was meaningless, you absolutely tank and play your young players and rest key starters to PREVENT that, while also attaining a better draft pick in the process.

  4. We saw last year how "splitting" practice reps between Darnold/Mayfield and making them "earn" their job went. We came out week 1 rusty, players had no connection with each other, o-line missing assignments (because of Rhule's dumbass musical chairs theory), etc. It was just an all around mess.

Let's not overthink this. Let Bryce get the much need reps with the 1s. Let Bryce get a connection with his WRs, center, o-line throughout training camp and preseason. Let's not have to figure this sh*t out weeks 1-4 because we wanted to make him "earn" the job. We are not in a position like the 49ers were with Mahomes to let him sit a year. They had the benefit of already being a very good team. We don't have that luxury, let Bryce learn on the fly.

  5. Just the fact that they acknowledge and are aware of the fact gives me a lot of hope for this front office and coaching staff.

Fitterer also said the Panthers are focused on improving the interior of their offensive line, in order to prevent the disruption that can happen up the middle, especially with a shorter quarterback.

“If we can build it really stout up the middle, we think that’ll also help Bryce,” Fitterer said.

I LOVED that they mentioned this. With Ron Rivera and Co., it was always trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and always dismissing the elephant in the room.  Cam needed a good o-line and WRs his whole career here, yet for some reason Ron and Hurney thought nothing was wrong. It's such a breath of fresh air to actually have a front office self aware enough to know a good o-line is a MUST.

You watch his career highlights and watch what happens after he gets the ball out.....he take big hits, just like everyone else. That very first play where the snap is bad, he gets that ball out and takes a headshot.

The last week or two, that's what I've been focusing on, him getting hit after he gets the ball out and he gets hit just like every other QB and just as hard as every QB.

    And you know what?

    He gets up.

    Every. Damn. Time.

And you know what he does every time gets back up?

    He makes magic happen. Again.

Y'all act like he's some fragile piece of glass, but if he was, he would have already been broken.

He's tough and he's as durable as any other QB coming into the league. He's got the same capacity to get injured as any other QB, no more or less.

I'm just not going to worry about it. I'm just going to sit back every week and watch him work his juju and enjoy the wins.

That hit at 8:08 in OP's video against Florida was vicious. Free blitzer with a clear shot at Bryce and just cleans him straight in the chest. What does Bryce do? He stands in there, takes the hit, delivers a strike, gets right back up, and then finishes the drive with a TD. There's not many BIG QBs that could do that sequence. Just sayin.

    1st round - Bryce Young

    1st round - Smith-Njigba

    1st round - Kincaid

    1st round - Bresee

I traded all our picks. I traded all our picks next year.  I traded all our picks the year after that.  I traded all our picks the year after that.  I traded Sir Purr. I traded Dom Capers.  I traded some Bojangles.   Traded 2 cheerleaders.

I'm a freaking football GM.  Yall can stay in your lane.  Trust the professional.

You traded all of that and only ended up with Smith-Njigba, Kincaid, and Bresee? You suck lol

You could have at least managed to keep the Bojangles.

Atlanta looks to be setting up to drop a rookie QB into a very good offense and succeed.

I'm hoping ATL has the best mediocre season this year. Do not want them getting in position to get or potentially move up for Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.

With all the years spent doing the complete opposite in favor of defense, I am perfectly fine with this finally being the offense that benefits more for a change.

    This x100

Everybody kept bitching that we would always put offense on the back burner in drafts. Now that we finally did the opposite (like everybody wanted), now everybody saying we should have went defense early lol I for one am absolutely HYPED on Mingo. Dude has all the tools to become a LEGIT #1 ala AJ Brown type.
