  1. Exactly. String together a couple of regular season games like this and collect some Ws, and maybe the narrative will start to change a lil bit. But until then, I will remain skeptical. Good step in the right direction though. Let's see how we build off of this. One thing's for sure though, it does seem that Canales has brought a WHOLE different attitude with this team. Definitely feels a lot different from previous years just in terms of attitude and scheme. We shall see.
  2. Exactly. So about a decade ago. His little 2nd stint here didn't even give him enough time to implement anything.
  3. GREAT stuff and insight right here! One huge thing I've noticed differently in terms of how our DBs are coached.........we're actually turning around for the ball now (which we also saw a lot in the first preseason game). There's no doubt that is being drilled in their heads by our coaches. I can't tell you how many years we've been questioning why our CBs NEVER turn around for the ball, which usually ends up in a DPI because of an underthrown ball by the QB. As for Bryce, this might have been his best practice yet. I have to see him do it when the real games start though, when they are actually allowed to hit him. But just happy he finally stringed together a great practice, joint practice at that.
  4. Excited to see what the defense does against another O. I'm out on the scoop, is Aaron Rodgers even participating in training camp yet? HOT TAKE Bath salts are the answer to all of your ailments
  5. It's kind of hard not to when he's given us nothing to cheer for. All his deep passes have been either underthrown or thrown to the sidelines (just like last year). CBs are undercutting his throws. His velocity on his throws are worrisome. It seems like he's worked on NOTHING during the offseason. How bout just give us a good practice to get hype for, or anything that says "oh, this guy might be something". And y'all might not like it but the moment we traded a king's ransom for him, he was always going to be judged more intently. It also doesn't help that CJ Stroud is already a top 5 QB in the league. It has just put every Panthers fan in a bad mood.
  6. Sooner or later y'all gonna run out of excuses Imagine if Cam had gotten all these excuses.... It was always "CAm iS InAccUraTe" or "CAm neEDs tO sTOp SulKING" or "caM NeEdS to plAY BeTTEr" when he had sh*t o-lines and WR's majority of his career here. Y'all know exactly who y'all are too.
  7. Bro, 10 ints while playing conservative is BAD! My point is he still managed to throw 10 picks and fumble 11 times PLAYING CONSERVATIVE! I can't even imagine once he starts attempting more risky (NFL) throws. But I will agree with you that at this point, I have no problem going deep more and throwing more risky passes. Can come to a quicker conclusion on whether he's cut out to be an NFL QB or not.
  8. Dude threw 10 ints while only averaging 5.5 ypa. Let that sink in.
  9. I mean, he started his career off by throwing 2 picks to Jessie Bates lol
  10. I mean, they were spot on if we just picked CJ Stroud. I don't even think it matters with this ownership tbh. You know those people that just have a weird/negative aura about them and negative sh*t just follows them? That's how I felt about Tepper when he first bought the team and I started doing some research. He's the same dumbass that was one of few minority owners who voted to have Mike Tomlin fired. I don't care that he lucked into being a billionaire, dude is a prick and doesn't know sh*t about football and stupid/negative sh*t will continue to follow this team as long as he's involved.
  11. Preseason is for two things: 1. Knocking the rust off for the starters so you don't have to play catch-up week 1.....getting back used to what it felt like to get hit. (There's a reason there was a week 3 rehearsal for the starters when we had 4 preseason games). 2. Evaluating the depth of your team Come week 1, if you need a half to get back into the swing of things, then you most likely are already down at halftime and gonna lose that game. Starting off the year 0-1 is something we've come accustom to, and it just so happens we are also usually the ones who just lollygag the preseason with no plan in mind.
  12. Yep. Just hearing his insight on what he's seeing and looking for before the play is going to be a treat. Hope he gets a good first game to commentate on.
  13. Wow. Actually can't wait to hear him call a game. I think he will be a natural just like Olsen is.
  14. Not only that, if you ARE going to be that frail and low weight, you gotta have some burners. You can't be letting DT's and DE's run you down, which we saw all last year. Like you said, there's no damn way NFL scouts saw Bryce in person and said "yeah, his size won't be a problem at all". There's just no way. Reich was known to ALWAYS go with bigger QBs, and you mean to tell me at this point of his career he just did a 180 and went with Bryce? Yeah right, people and the media can try to BS me all they want, I refuse to believe teams had Bryce #1 on their draft boards after meeting with him and seeing how small he was.
  15. Yep. It's why players like Josh Allen can come from a college like Wyoming and have so much potential. Same thing with Patrick Mahomes and Texas Tech. You have to look the part first, then decide whether his style of play can translate into the NFL. Once I saw the tape of Bryce vs Texas and LSU, I was out on him because those games simulated how NFL pressure will be ALL THE TIME, and he failed the test. I can count on one hand the amount of successful QBs under 6'0 in the history of the NFL, and we bet the house on that lol
  16. He seems like a very smart young man. I think he's come to the realization that he is indeed too small to be a QB in the NFL. Couple that with a weak arm and his confidence is shattered. He can't make the plays he used to in college because everybody is faster, smarter, bigger, and stronger in the NFL. I think he's starting to doubt his own ability. This Jets joint practice will say a lot.
  17. It's not even about getting in people's faces, but rather DEMANDING perfection. You don't have to act all big and bad. Yes, he is small, but Drew Brees had no problem chewing people out for not being in the right spot, or for lackluster play, or missing assignments on offense, etc. He would cuss your ass out even though all of them could whoop his ass. There's all kinds of ways to be a leader. You can even fake it like Russell Wilson did. But nobody is going to go to war with you if they look over at their QB1 and he's just going with the flow, sitting back and not being vocal.
  18. I just don't see the leadership in Bryce. You think Cam (yes I always compare Bryce to Cam because Cam was a REAL leader) wouldn't be chewing this offense out if we continued looking like this? He would be in people faces or fighting the defense because he was a true alpha. He wouldn't stand by and let this offense be THIS bad. A true alpha, a true leader. Bryce has to figure something out, or fake it. This is YOUR team bro. YOU were drafted #1, take the reigns man. Get loud, chew some asses out, let it be known that this is unacceptable.....SOMETHING! Oh yeah, I'm excited for this defense this year. Evero is the ONLY thing about this team that I am confident in. He has done more with less for a long time now, dating back to his Broncos days. I actually like the players we brought in on defense. Clowney is going to be a DAWG, and I like all the new CBs. ALL of them were playing sound football against the Pats. Just sucks we are going to waste it with a historically bad offense.
  19. If Bryce doesn't do anything against the Jets, then sh*t is going to get even more depressing around here because Jayden Daniels had no problem going deep against them.
  20. So then what's even the point of preseason then? This team is so full of sh*t it's ridiculous
  21. We just saw Jayden Daniels make this exact pass in his first game down the sidelines for a big completion. Bryce has shown time and time again his deep ball is non existent. Worst deep ball thrower in the league.
  22. I feel like Bryce worked on nothing over the offseason lol
  23. I'd trade him for free as long as we can get rid of that contract.
  24. Yeah no sh*t. Anybody with a fuggin brain could see we needed an actual center either from FA or the draft. JPJ was right there for the taking in the 2nd, yet we went with a devalued position that won't even be able to play until a month into the season. And then people wonder why we continue to be the worst team in the league.
