Remember when our offense sucked last preseason and everybody was like "lol we are just running a vanilla offense, McAdoo isn't going to show his full hand" and then proceeded to go 1-4 out of the gate?
-
Meanwhile, Mahomes and Co are going to play the entire 1st half.
-
Also, we don't have the luxury of resting the starting O, play them a whole half until they get their sh*t together and score a fuggin TD. We have two division rivals to start the season, and the way it's looking we will be 0-2 in the division and season after two games.
-
Eye test don't lie. Giants have no problem getting 1st downs and TDs, we can't even get 5 yards. Same sh*t with the Jets.
-
Let's call a spade a spade. Vanilla or not, the Jets and Giants have had their way with us with the same "vanilla" offense and defense. We just aren't a good team. We are losing every single one of our 1v1s.
-
At some point we gotta be honest with ourselves, Frank Reich has had a trend of starting off seasons slow. He also lost to a bad 2-14 Jags team in a must win game to go to the playoffs.
-
Refs willed us down the field..........and we still can't get a TD. Whew boy, it's not looking good. I don't think we will get a TD this preseason.
-
What is Ekwonu even doing lmao
-
What is the evaluation process here? Running Chuba up the gut in the preseason isn't accomplishing anything.
-
I can't with these Chuba runs. Bored out of my fuggin mind. What TF do we need to see with this? That Chuba is ass?
-
Chuba is a fuggin plodder. Jag if I ever saw one.
-
I want the starting O to play until they score a TD. No more excuses, we do not have the luxury to not "show" our hands, we have two back to back division rivals to start the year, get something going
-
Yep. Trust the eye test, we lose our 1v1s majority of the time. Both Jets and Giants are having their way with us, and they aren't even the upper echelon of the NFL
-
If he didn't stop running, he would have had a huge gain. Bryce lead him, he just stopped his route
-
Don't worry guys, Jets and Giants are just taking the preseason too seriously, we're just running a "vanilla" offense. Right?
-
Yeah.............let's go wit that
-
Can't wait to go three and out on offense because you know "iTs oUr VaNILLa OfFeNsE" while the Giants just waltzed down the field lol
-
Yeah, and we were also in one of (if not THE best at the time) divisions in football in 2011. Atlanta had 13 wins that last year, New Orleans had 11, and the Bucs had 10 wins the previous year before 2011. Not to mention we had THE hardest schedule going into 2011 as well. Neither of those apply this year. So yes, we are definitely positioned better than 2011. Saints and Falcons got marginally better at best. Bucs got SUBSTANTIALLY worse, so overall it's a push. Still a bad division.
-
All I will say is, if we can't win more games than an interim coach that traded its best player away, that inherited a 1-4 record, in an even WORSE division, then I don't know what to tell ya. This isn't even remotely like 2011. We aren't coming off the 2nd worst record in franchise history. We EARNED that #1 pick. There is absolutely NO reason why we shouldn't win (or compete) for the division this year seeing the division is even worse with Brady gone.

Positive from Today: Bryce Young's Talent in One Play
Castavar replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce looked like a 5 year vet out there in terms of looking defenders off, knowing where to go with the football, throwing it where only his guy can make a play, etc. I just wish he had more time to showcase a good drive for us. Also, Ickey was responsible for that first pressure. He didn't get enough depth to where he could trade defenders with Brady in case they ran a stunt (which they did). I honestly don't think they expected the Jets to be running stunts in a preseason game, so maybe there's that. I'm sure Campen will go over film and correct these things. -
Unless you're the Browns lol

How are you feeling after the first preseason game?
Castavar replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Preseason doesn't matter to an extent. However, if you look at preseason games as 1 on 1s, then you realize that we just lost every 1 on 1 for 60 minutes straight. Not a good look. -
I'm more concerned about every single on of our o-linemen getting sh*t on.
-
Losing in the preseason is not very concerning. HOWEVER, getting blown the fug out and having NOBODY even resemble a good game is absolutely concerning. ZERO points in a preseason game. I don't think people understand how pathetic it is that you can't even walk into a FG from your whole roster.
