They had the casuals fooled. Because from what I remembered on here, there were MANY skeptical fans mentioning how we only played the Jets, the Texans with their backup QB, and the Saints without the majority of their coaching staff because of Covid. But the superior fans came along and said we were just debbie downers and how they're happy being the "worst 3-0 team". It was fools good, and anybody not a homer could see right through that facade. It only took Mike McDaniel two games to beat a legit playoff team.

Apparently, dude is some offensive wizard from what I've been hearing. One of the huddles top 3 candidates to replace Rhule last year. *sigh*. Always a day late and a dollar short with this fuggin franchise.

That's what I'm saying though. You might miss out on the ONE good QB prospect from a certain school all because you lumped them all together. That would be like the Panthers passing on Herbert (if he fell to us) because "when was the last time Oregon produced a good NFL QB?". And actually, that was the mindset around here about Herbert.

When was the last time an Oregon QB actually pulled off a legit great NFL QB season before Justin Herbert? That kind of thinking will cause you to lose out on a great prospect.

I mean, who's worse? Jags just curb stomped the Colts. I think the Colts would run down our throats with JT and sneak a win. Detroit's offense looks legit and would definitely score over 17 points (Rhule 1-25 when other team scores more than 17 points). Jets just came back and beat the team that beat us IN OUR HOUSE. ATL has been fighting against superior teams and even almost came back to beat the Rams. Titans are a HUGE mismatch for us and would run for over 200+ yards. Bears defense would stifle us and Justin Fields would do just enough to win. Maybe SEA? Idk, I feel like Pete Carrol could pull one out against Rhule just on coaching alone. Who else really is there? HOU? Toss up game.

I honestly don't think he's going anywhere, as sad as that is (I even said this last year when most thought it was inevitable that Rhule was going to be fired after the season). Tepper seems like the petty type that would rather go down with the train instead of admitting he was wrong to us "basement dwellers".

I don't even think Rhule was in the majority of the Huddle's top 5 at the time. For me personally, his name came out of left field. My list was 1. Greg Roman 2. Matt Eberflus 3. Eric Bieniemy 4. Robert Saleh and 5. Mike McCarthy Once I heard Rhule's name getting thrown out there, I went and did some research. Once I saw he couldn't even beat ranked teams I wanted nothing to do with him. College coaches already have a TERRIBLE success rate, and you're going to get one who can't even beat ranked teams? Not to mention he was already blowing leads in college, blowing a 28-3 lead against Oklahoma.

He missed a WIDE OPEN LONG TD when Cooper SMOKED Horn. That's two weeks in a row where Horn would have given up a long TD had the other team had an average QB.

If we get a new coach + either Bryce or Stroud going into next year, my excitement level is through the roof. That would bring some fire back to Charlotte.

But what if that one OSU QB that works out will be the only one that works out for a long time? Look at Herbert and Oregon. Name me another successful QB that came from Oregon.

Some of us were calling out his abysmal record against ranked teams even way back then, but what did it for me was him bringing his college buddy with him as DC. After further researching his resume, realized his only NFL coaching experience was as a linebackers coach for the 0-16 Detroit Lions. Then going out and getting yet another college coach (Brady) who wasn't even the damn OC for LSU with all those superstar WRs.
