Know Your Foe: New England Patriots
Castavar replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm honestly interested to see how well our backups carry out Canales' scheme. I know it will be vanilla, but there can still be a scheme in place but just call vanilla plays within that scheme. Honestly just hype to watch any kind of Panthers football, no matter how bad -
Know Your Foe: New England Patriots

If it's anything like last preseason, then count me out. I just want to see what Morgan's picks can do. Eager to see Trevin Wallace and JaTavion Sanders the most -

Bryce Young won't play in preseason opener
Castavar replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
So what's the plan here? Coddle him until the regular season? I'd rather him look bad in preseason than week 1. Is it to protect him from injury? I could understand that if the starting o-line or WRs aren't playing, but if they are then there's NO excuse. -
Ian Rapoport on Bryce: "Everyone had Bryce Young #1"
Castavar replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's not that trade I disliked. I also liked the trade even WITH including DJ. We made the right decision, we just made the wrong pick. And yeah, it's crazy how this front office loved Burns so much that it passed on TWO 1st rounders from the Rams and also didn't want to include him in the trade with the Bears...........................only to not want to pay him right after lmao This franchise man, ran by a bunch of idiots, lead by the true dumbass mastermind himself David Tepper -
Ian Rapoport on Bryce: "Everyone had Bryce Young #1"

My initial reaction to when we traded for the #1 pick was it's gotta be Stroud..............because in no way would we trade all of those draft picks to take a 5'10 QB. Then Josh McCown came out with that video of him comparing Stroud to Joe Burrow and I was all in. Then I rewatched him absolutely shred through Georgia's historic defense and I was all giddy. Then a month later, Bryce hype started catching steam. I then had to convince myself that I would be OK with either, but preferred CJ Stroud. I feel like the majority of the huddle was this way. In my memory, it was about 70/30 CJ vs Bryce initially, then it started trending the other way when the Tepper news came out that he really liked Bryce. -
Under thrown for sure. He allowed Woods to catch up to the ball. Bryce has had like 5 passes like that already in training camp. He has a weak arm.

I have zero confidence in Bryce as a franchise QB. This will be another long season.

If Xavier Woods and Jordan Fuller are scaring us from taking deep shots, then this season is shot lol

Oh no, that's surprising.....................NOT If average fans have been yelling to draft an ACTUAL center for years, you would think people that get paid millions would come to the same conclusion. Apparently not. Reminds me of when they put Byron Bell and Nate Chandler out there and then act all surprised during the season that Cam is getting fugged up. This has got to be the dumbest franchise in all of sports.

Dude's been breaking ankles all training camp

That's pretty sad. Our best case scenario (which isn't happening) is Bryce turning into Tua after getting superstar players around him...................and still having an early exit from the playoffs because the QB isn't good enough. How sad. Our situation is like if the Bengals traded up to the #1 pick and picked Tua over Joe Burrow lmao We are such a stupid franchise.

Levis showed more in his first NFL game than Bryce did all season.

Maybe instead of doing stupid Panthers sh*t and drafting an already injured luxury RB in the 2nd we could have drafted Jackson Powers-Johnson (center from Oregon) and have the center position locked up for the next 10+ years. It's just sh*t like this that has held us back our whole existence. Like drafting a fuggin long snapper over Trey Smith when a guard was a HUGE need for us at the time.
-
What games are you watching!? If he's not dropping a pass, he's getting a holding call..............or getting tripped up by the turf. Dude is the definition of a JAG (and I'm being pretty generous with the JAG part).

My only optimism is new coaches, new schemes, not everybody practicing. But yeah. not expecting much until the Teppers are gone
-
Was my favorite pick of the draft tbh

Don't underestimate just how much a run upgrade Clowney is from Burns

JaTavion Sanders slowly creeping his way up

Remaining schedule until the start of the season
Castavar replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sad but true lol God, PLEASE at least let this season be fun to watch. The last 4 years I've been out after the first game. Give us SOMETHING to get hype for, because it always seems week 1 ends in disappointment and then it follows throughout the whole season. Hell, I'd take a hard fought L, just let us put up a good game 1 for once. -
I just don't see that "IT" factor the was supposed to be the main reason we took him over Stroud. With Cam, you knew right from the jump in that Cincinnati preseason game that he was special (and then he comes out and smokes ARI's defense). Our only hope is that we surround him with enough talent and a great system that he can become a system QB like Tua or Brees. If we can create a deadly dink and dunk offense like the Saints with Brees or the Brady years with the Pats, then we might have a lil something.

Training Camp for 7/30/2024 (first padded practice!)
Castavar replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
This dude making the team. I still can't believe he went undrafted. I wanted him in the 5th lol -
Yeah, I don't care what some fancy analytics say, we've all watched football long enough to know what justifies as a "deep throw". People need to start believing their eyes over analytics. Even in the underwear olympics (Pro Day) with NOBODY guarding his WRs, Bryce's deep throws looked weak and took forever to get there, and it was no different in real time. We got sold on a super processor and got a lemon.
