  1. Fair enough. So no to being worth it? (and no other QBs in R1 for ya?)
  2. That's what I'm thinking and trying to reconcile. If it happens and we keep Rhule hoping that: (A) He can look good and to be the future & (B) without Rhule & his version of an NFL OL ruining him It would be good for a new coach (if Rhule isn't canned and a rookie is his last hurah/he's gone after 22') that our selection at least seems promising and could have a Eagles type situation with Hurts.
  3. I'm asking this out of sheer curiosity, not so much promoting him as our target QB. I know people are already attaching Rhule to Pickett, which is unfortunate because Rhule sucks. But if we step back for a moment and just look at Pickett and his season, what could we be getting? I get many to most want to establish the OL first and foremost (I don't disagree) and without a 2nd or 3rd rounder, it will be even more difficult. As things stand, we're picking 5/6 and then 105. It sucks. Hoping Henderson can work out and we can basically consider him a draft pick but the 2nd for Darnold hurts combined with it. The trade down discussion is easy to throw out but I think it will be difficult in our spot. Maybe we could do something with a Pittsburgh or Denver and get a OL+Corral/Ridder type combo but there's a lot of extenuating factors. So my questions aside from the OL situation and Matt Rhule as our coach (for now): Is Pickett a viable #6 Overall pick? Corral? Anyone else? And second: How would you go about building the line without trading down and landing a QB at #5/6? I will no doubt wonder how the hell we build a line for him if Rhule is here and pray he doesn't get ruined. I just see a lot more potential than plenty of guys taken around the same area. He had a Burrow type ascent and I don't see why he couldn't come in at a decent level. Looks a hell of a lot more ready than Zach Wilson for example, I don't see a ton of question marks. Just seems like a solid QB I don't think we should brush off because of Rhule's history with him or the fact that we have a dogsh*t OL situation. Again I prefer an OL first approach, but if he's the pick, there will still be a lot to be excited about. Cheers.
  4. If someone wants to leap WAS and ATL to assure Pickett (edit: or Corral), we are a spot to target. Likely candidates being DEN (11), MIN (12), & PIT (17). Denver does have an extra pick in the 3rd. I don't see many other scenarios unless let's say it's a closer trade-up for a non-QB prospect. Thing is we're sandwiched by both NY teams who have 2 firsts, one of them could trade back with their 2nd picks as well and a lower asking price than what we'll require so we're kind of in a sh*t spot. Going to be a weird position to be in.
  5. Rhule getting handed off Pick 7 in 2020, getting to pick 11, then to pick 5/6. Just brilliant work right there.
  6. I won't forget the small Giddy for Gabbert coalition.
  7. True. Short term patience could go a long way for these guys running the ship. They all just seem so flippant and inexperienced. To your point--Hell, could've still landed Darrisaw for LT who's played a million times better than anyone minus Moton on our line. Not to mention, would have probably netted an additional 3rd or 4th which would help digest this Darnold situation. Then had 2 firsts where taking Pickett or Corral would have been much more easy to stomach with an OL first again like Ekwonu or Lindenbaum. I love Horn but picking him there set us back with true impact players. For where we stood roster wise, picking a CB round 1 just never sat well for me. To this day it still just feels like a missed opportunity. You go for the franchise changers/game breakers or the guys who will help you win at the LOS.
  8. One thing is for sure and it's that their fans DO NOT want it to be Commanders. Surely Snyder won't pull a Bob Johnson right? Wouldn't put it past him. Being GroudHOG day, could we be looking at the RedHogs? Oh man I'd strangely love that. Defenders or Armada may be it.
  9. I know people will be resistant due to our history with the brother, but Derek Carr could do something before his career is out/in a new spot. Although, all of these type of moves would put us in a similar position to these franchises like MIN, LVR, & CLE. Not getting over the hump but have a guy you need an ideal team around. Sure, better place than our current sorry asses but I just don't know at this point how to proceed with QB. Unsure if Cam can realistically go a full season and I doubt we're giving the Rhule+Darnold combo a second go. People may not like it but we're staring at Pickett or Corral at this point barring a trade down.
  10. Toney was picked where the Bears were and there was a pretty big dropoff around that pick to 2nd round tier guys IMO. The 2nd round is where we got too cute. I wanted Slater badly (before the draft) but I do see the argument with Horn even though another defensive player that high was hard to swallow after the Teddy-Brady campaign. Could have taken some completely formidable LT prospects in Sam Cosmi or Dillon Radunz in R2. I really don't see how they valued a trade back/pick accumulation that netted Terrace Marshall THAT much higher than just grabbing someone to fill our biggest need outside of QB.
  11. It will definitely be in our interest to hype these guys up so I foresee a lot of rumors with basically every top-QB prospect and us. Pickett will be the loudest (and could be the pick), but if Corral, Ridder, Howell or Strong end up being looked at favorably, it's in our interest value wise.
  12. The highest drafted center in the last 25 years was Damien Woody in 1999 at #17 however guys like Bradberry and Ruiz were both taken high in recent years. Teams are placing higher value on them in today's NFL. Many reasons why so Linderbaum could be an option. But Ekwonu could be the guy as well. Looks like many are plaving him at the top of the OL rankings. Notably, TDN has him as their #1 OL, and #5 overall. Their QB order is 1-Pickett (#18), 2-Corral (#25), 3-Ridder (#32), 4/5 (#39/40) Howell/Strong
  13. The OC pitch is basiclly: "Anyone wanna come help me save my job?" Nah, most would prefer to be on the replacement staff or away from this organization.
  14. F*ck them all and f*ck this coaching staff. Maybe Gilmore team friendly if he wants to settle in the Carolinas. Otherwise, f*ck it all and f*ck Matt Rhule.
  15. Rhule has his guys in place now. This is his type of team lol. Brady’s inexperienced and lackluster run shows how bad of a coaching staff Rhule really assembled—because let’s face it, we went with the coaching bandwagon train and Tepper’s pocket to get Brady. Just look at Temple and Baylor’s offenses—they were never really that good. Like at all.
  16. This staff strikes me as one that will say Neal weighs too much, won’t take Lindenbaum high, so will reach for the 3rd-5th best OL prospect at 5/6 overall. …or Pickett. Those two DEs will be gone and I see no one anyone would be worth trading up for. We could be looking at a similar line & coach with Pickett next year. Get ready folks.
  17. Yeah we knew why he was the way he was and gave him a worse off situation. I don't get it. It shows that they REALLY felt they built a workable OL with Cam+Elflein+Paradis+Miller+Moton. They claim it to be a process but if they wanted to set their Sam investment up for success, they needed to do more than that (and a few preseason snaps). It just makes no sense.
  18. true. Still though, the focus year 1 was D, year 2 offense. A as Zoolander would say, they really really really really screwed it up. I’m about done at this point. If Rhule is here, it may be the first draft/offseason I really don’t follow since 02ish
  19. If Matt’s seat is either hot or just iffy with next year being assured, the team that played today didn’t give AF and it is such a terrible spot to be in. End this horror show.
  20. Seriously, we could’ve kept Allen for scraps and would’ve been about the same (possibly better) and with more draft picks.
  21. DL and Secondary. We are soft in the middle on both the line and Lbs. Getting improvements there could change a lot.
  22. The whole OL vs QB debate gets very tiring. The honest debate is if you think one or the other in the 1st round is absolutely critical. However it becomes more of a hotly contested debate when we don’t have a 2nd or 3rd rounder lol
  23. Screw this team. At least the Jets and Texans have progressed a tad with their young guys. We are utter dogsh!t
  24. I mean, how do you not win today against that Saints team? This wasn’t even a mess anymore, it’s just not an NFL caliber team.
