  1. I figured to post this somewhere after I had my fun early morning and made a mock. Feel free to flame away haha. To get the Panthers out in front, I see two options: (A) Take our favorite of Icky/Neal/Cross available (preferred) (B) Trade w/SEA or BAL, gain a second round at minimum. Maybe gain a 2023 pick. Just stay near the top, could still land Cross or the first QB. Ideal: 9-Cross, then if they really want a guy, package 41 with a late rounder for a faller Corral/Howell/Pickett in the mid-30s range. I know right? Super different lol...anyways here's the mock going off latest Matt Miller, Athletic, and other rumors: 2022 Mock Draft 1-JAX: Aiden Hutchinson DE UM Not buying Walker here. Aiden has the upside against the pass and run. Walker has potential but too underwhelming of a pass rusher for #1 overall. 2-DET: Sauce Gardner CB CIN Early with a surprise but their GM Holmes has hinted that he’s looking for impact and talent over specific positions when drafting this high. They’ve been a hard team to peg down but DBs are ever more important in this day and age. 3-HOU: Derek Stingley Jr CB LSU Word is he’s very high on boards. Interchangeable use in the secondary, huge upside. Could HOU really be high on Stingley and Sauce? We’ll see. I like the fit to build out their defense w/DG. 4-NYJ: Jermaine Johnson Jr DE FSU I feel Johnson is high on boards but just hasn’t gotten a ton of press. Teams love him, he’s a student of the game and I just like the energy he has about him. Would really boost that Jets defense for Saleh. And remember how the 49ers built out that defense for him at his last gig. Important year for this franchise to take a step forward, get a top guy at a critical position. 5-NYG: Evan Neal OT Bama Schoen & Daboll need to see what they can do with Jones and the best way for that is to protect him. Yes, they have Thomas but Neal is a plug and play RT in the pros and would really make a solid line for the G-men. 6-CAR: Ickey Ekwonu OT NC State We obviously want to try and trade out if it makes sense, but this scenario makes the pick easy--That alternate here would be a trade w/SEA or BAL who may want Thib or Walker. (Alternate: CAR receives pick 9 & 41, SEA picks Thibodeaux at #6) 7-NYG: Kayvon Thibodeaux DE Oregon Big decision for the Giants if they want to secure their preferred OL or DL before the Panthers who could either be trading down for a team wanting Kayvon/Walker or taking an OT they may want. Interesting dilemma. 8-ATL: Travon Walker DT UGA Even though he’s been this consensus super riser in this draft, I just don’t see the upside as a pass rusher out of the gate. Tons of potential, but if the rumors are true how coveted Sauce and Stingley are, this could very well happen. Walker stays in Georgia. 9-SEA: Kyle Hamilton S NDU Would be a very good foundation piece to build that defense with. 10-NYJ: Jameson Williams WR Bama Zach Wilson needs help, they’ve got some promising linemen, but he needs weapons. Could see Jameson pairing really well in a growing Jets offense. This is the draft they help shape one around Zach. My favorite WR is Wilson, but Williams is a good fit here. 11-WAS: Drake London WR USC Mini-run on WRs. I want to give them a QB, but they apparently wanted Wentz. Next best thing is to pair London with McLaurin, Gibson, and Thomas in that offense. Not huge on London, but I see WAS liking him as a fit in that offense. They also tend to pick someone ranked high, but not the one you'd expect. 12-MIN: Jordan Davis DT UGA CB is their big need but McDuffie doesn’t make sense for them considering who’s available. Interior DL is also needed up there. Would be a great choice. 13-HOU: Charles Cross OT Miss St I can’t imagine Cross falling much further than around the mid-teens. Texans need help everywhere. If they go D early, I would expect to see something like this. They don’t seem to really value WRs. 14-BAL: Devin Lloyd LB Utah Whoever ends up with Lloyd is going to be a very happy team. And by golly, he seems like a perfect fit on the Ravens and more of what they wanted when they chose Patrick Queen. This pick would go a long way to re-establishing a great defense there. 15-PHI: Garrett Wilson WR Ohio State The Eagles finally pick the correct WR in a draft, who in this case, happens to be a lifelong, diehard Eagles fan. Match made in heaven right here. 16-NO: Demond Ridder QB CIN Boom. Nope, not Pickett, not Willis, but Ridder. NO goes for the higher IQ, football loving kid who really checks nearly all the boxes. May seem inconsistent but if everything we're hearing is right about teams falling for Ridder the most, he'll be the first gone. 17-LAC: Tyler Smith OT Tulsa A bi of a surprise going before Raimann and Penning, but I love Smith as a plug and play for this line. Could really round out a solid OL for Herbert and company. A pick like Smith could go a long way to build them into a contender in a tough division. 18-PHI: Trenton McDuffie CB Washington He’s been reportedly well tied to the Eagles through the draft process. Solid add. 19-NO: Chris Olave WR Ohio State Time to start rebuilding that offense. With Ridder competing with Winston, think Olave would be a very wise addition to that team. Wouldn't like it for us but it's a nice fit. 20-PIT: Malik Willis QB Liberty All the PIT-Willis buzz is true, it’s expected, and it makes sense. Tomlin deserves to get a high upside mobile QB project for himself. 21-NE: George Karlaftis DE Purdue This is the guy that passes the New England smell test for me. Considered Dean, but his limitations may make him drop a bit. They tend to make somewhat different picks, can see this one happening. 22-GB: Treylon Burks WR AK They get a WR to replace Adams early. Rodgers finally gets some WR help high up in the draft. 23-AZ: Devonte Wyatt DL UGA They need interior DL help to compliment good vets on the edge. 24-DAL: Trevor Penning OT Northern Iowa A kid with this much upside shouldn’t last much longer. Would be a really smart decision for the Boys. 25-BUF: Zion Johnson OG Boston College Bills go after a very smart addition to have on their line. They’ve got Davis & Knox breaking out paired with Diggs. They need to protect Allen and stay ahead of the OL game. 26-TEN: Christian Watson WR ND State I was tempted to go Pickett but just don’t see this front office gambling on him. Continue to build out that offense. The defense was much improved, they’re close but need more spark on offense to get past the hump. 27-TB: Kenyon Green G Texas A&M Fills a need for helping Brady win one more SB. 28-GB: Daxton Hill S Michigan One of my first “reaches” but it won’t seem like one come midseason. 29-KC: Skyy Moore WR Western Michigan Teams love Skyy Moore. He’s not making it out of R1. And boy would he love to catch balls from Mahomes. 30-KC: Josh Paschal DE Kentucky I really like this fit. Paschal is another dude many teams are high on. The Chiefs would walk away with 2 awesome picks at 29 & 30. 31-CIN Kyler Gordon CB Washington This next tier of CBs have potential, with Gordon having the highest ceiling. Bengals are all about those types right now. Would be a great addition. 32-DET Nakobe Dean LB UGA Popular spot for a QB but a leader for their defense is just as good for that 5th year option. Notables Omitted: Kenny Pickett QB Tyler Linderbaum C Matt Corral QB Sam Howell QB Bernhard Raimann OT/G David Ojabo DE Bryan Cook S Running Backs As mentioned, if we trade down and gain a second, I can see a trade up with new capital to ensure Corral or Howell high round 2. Cheers, have a solid weekend peeps.
  2. You gotta look at what you can do with these prospects. Per reports and by all accounts, Malik and Ridder seem to have convinced many that they can be a formidable piece for a successful team. Maybe Howell as well. Willis is the only with superstar potential, which is arguable. If you identified your guy at QB, then you get him. It doesn’t sound like we’ve done that. And it makes sense because none of these guys look THAT awesome. Ridder and Malik intrigue me but considering the scenario, it’s a risk to bring them in with Rhule’s fall. Ekwonu and Cross are the likely dudes. If word that the Giants have Cross as their #1, then we’re going to be in position for a top talent or something like a SEA/BAL trade down. I’d prefer a trade down—not to try and get some QB later but to hopefully gain 2023 capital and stay near the top14ish to land a great talent. We need offense in a league driven by offense. Hell, I’d be game for Jameson or G Wilson if that’s what it takes.
  3. This draft may not have any legit QB prospects but holy hell it’s made it interesting to dig into them all. First time I’m actually quite interested to know where a lot of these kids go more than whoever the hell we decide to ruin.
  4. This draft could go sideways really quick. Detroit has played it really close to the chest. HOU is a wildcard for a big perceived reach. They may go Stingley. And NYJ could go WR or DL, it’s not this auto-DB pick some seem to have. Jameson/Wilson or JJII are in the running. Get ready for pandemonium, I sense this could be one of the more bonkers drafts we’ve seen movement wise and unexpected selections.
  5. Sending smoke screens to message board owner's cell phones? Seems a bit too involved for these guys. In the past we've usually gotten the true interest pop-up that window within the last two weeks. Happened with Horn & Brown with this regime. I don't think both tackles are gone though. Stingley, Sauce and Jermaine are all in play top-5.
  6. That's a scenario in which we can't find a trade partner and Icky+Neal are gone. JJII hype is legit. Maybe we don't let Thib slide any further. But doubt we'd go Sauce or Stingley right?
  7. 100% agree. Fun to ponder the possibilities, but if Ekwonu is there just take him and accept our fate at QB.
  8. Borrego had a team that shouldn't of been in the play-in games. But he just loved to have those random skids when we should have been rolling. They should have been in the Toronto/Bulls tier with how they played. Time for them to land a big and a fresh HC that can coach up a playoff squad with Miles & Lamelo.
  9. Love the show, thanks for the link. Everyone should follow it on Spotify. Robert Mays is a cool dude, lives down the street from me near Wicker Park.
  10. Speaking to the football side, it's not just the Pickett bloom up. Yes, how does a guy who's had a rather poor career as a coach suddenly have what they had? But then you see it happen w/Addison, TEs, they all bloomed up together but under a coach and playbook that didn't. The big change I also see was the running game also shot up like crazy. 120 pg, 3.4 ypa in 2020 to 150 4.2 in 2021. And what was the biggest turnover from 2020 to 2021? The IOL. Pickett suddenly didn't have as much pressure which he typically was shaky against. But thing is, when he got pressure in 2021, he was still shaky. The advanced stats show it. He showed it. He simply had more time to make plays and roll out. Now does that take away that he had more time to show what he can do? No. But it also tells me he's not the best under pressure and that's the bust alarm going off.
  11. I see Ekwonu or Neal falling to us. Leaning Icky. Stingley and Sauce are buzzing too much, Aiden and Walker are top-5 locks. DET, HOU and NYJ need defense and in a hurry. It's really up to JAX and NYG. I just don't see Neal or Icky at #1, so actually it's possible we're the first team to select an OL. My current top-6 guess: 1. JAX-Aiden 2. DET-Walker 3. HOU-Stingley 4. NYJ-JJ II 5. NYG-Neal (Plug and play RT w/Thomas at LT) we get Ekwonu Then the real fun is the anticipation of us doing something with the little capital we have. Hoping we don't go crazy and mortgage more future picks for someone that a new regime won't be asking for. Oh man if Goodell goes up and says we've trade into the first, this board would go bonkers. BUUUT another kicker is that I could see someone trading up for Sauce. Seattle, Baltimore, teams really like him. So in that case, IF both OTs are magically there, do we trade down with let's say SEA (get 41 and 9) at the hopes one is still there or maybe Cross? SEA gets Sauce at 6, we get an OT at 9, and gain 41. Then it's up to ATL and NYG on the OL front.
  12. Yeah it was like the entire offense at Pitt bloomed up. Dug a bit into the coaching and that Whipple sounded like a weird OC. Just strange how his offense just randomly shot up after being rather meh with pretty much the same guys.
  13. I was trying my best to transcribe and provide some extra commentary. Don't know a ton about Wayne, but that offense seemed to go through Addison. Kind of reminds me of Bateman when he was in Minny.
  14. Well yeah it’s the offseason.
  15. If Stingley (hot late riser) and JJII are going early as it’s been rumored on the Athletic and a few pods this week, I can easily see Icky or Neal..hell maybe both available at 6.
  16. It’s a simple question Doctor, would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs?
  17. Good sized kid and solid career so far, would be a bit more polished than that dude we grabbed from Minny last year
  18. The fact that we've got this guy and upgraded two bottom-5 spots at C and G to top-10 guys is huge. I want a LT at 6 but the line as is vastly superior to what we've had. Bozeman, Corbett, & Moton are quite a threesome to push. That blindside though, oh boy. We will see what comes but ading Icky, Cross or Neal to that is just bon-appetite big uglyfest. Would love BC and Deonte to amount to something but I won't hold my breath.
  19. From my perspective (Being in Design & Construction, specifically Construction Admin), I doubt this will go elsewhere or would be very surprised. Abandoned projects this far along are quite rare, though you never know. They could have their own Fountainbleu situation sitting in Rock Hill. But being specifically for infrastructure improvements, I'm unsure as it sounds like this is a separate contract from the base bid for the facility itself and for area improvements tying into the facility/mixed-use development. Seems like a mess and would not want to be on the design, construction, or client side of this whole ordeal.
  20. Yeah he runs counter to a lot of the standard media ranks. Seemingly to a detriment. His videos are pretty great though.
  21. JT's rankings seem quite counter to the "media" as you put it. Ike Taylor aye? Pickett is his favorite quarterback he likes even more than Strong (Yikes Ike). He also says Kinnard is the best overall lineman in the draft. Over Neal, Icky, Cross, Zion, Tyler, Penning, Raimann, Strange, all of them.
  22. Dammit, was drafting this when it was made.
  23. I find this rather interesting and is definitely a conversation starter: His rankings: 1. Malik Willis The things he shows on film translates to Sundays. It's the transferability of his skillset. He didn't spend a ton of time on Malik but he needs to go to the right team, and it's not us. Even mentioned us directly as a team that's not viable for Malik (or any prospect for that matter..ouch) 2. Desmond Ridder He has the ability to run an offense, balanced approach to running and athleticism with NFL level throws. Thinks the anticipation-based accuracy issues are still there despite the statistical improvement but he has clear potential & has some really nice throws on tape. The Bama game didn't do him justice. 3. Sam Howell The 2020 film is great, top talent, the 2021, not so much. Consistent, accurate, he has the tools. He tried too hard to play hero ball behind a bad team. Though it's hard to tell because the dip in performance is something to note regardless. It doesn't place him at the top, but he still is a favorite due to the previous years' film. 4. Kenny Pickett Doesn't have pop-out of the film talent. He can create but doesn't have throws that show he can create a playoff type run. Last year's improvement is notable, but he had great perimeter talent in a bad conference. I.E. Pitt-UNC game that he barely won. Just doesn't show that extra bit you see in top draft talent. 5 &6. Matt Corral & Carson Strong (JT puts them in the same bucket) Corral: I'm surprised but I can see what he say-- He's "crafty", there's a place for him but he was in an offense that's not just RPO based, but had creative looks that gave him opportunities to show out. And it's not like his numbers were even that eye-popping. Had quick exits in A LOT of games due to small injuries. Could be very successful in the right system but has not shown he can drop back, go through reads. Put him in a quicker, stronger, faster NFL environment and there's pause. Strong: Loves his arm talent (straight up "wow cannon throws". Buuut---Injury or not, he had some serious footwork issues. Hope it's injury-only based but the leg showed badly in film. Impacts his ability to make standard moves in the pocket and power. 7. Bailey Zappe It's going to take a special scenario for him to really amount to much. Limited arm, lesser athleticism than the top. (He doesn't wish any of these guys to go to the Carolina Panthers lol, does not want them to suffer through it)
