  1. My gut tells me Ridder or Howell happens somehow. I think those two make the most sense and actually have some potential here. I just don't think we're aiming for Willis and I truly think Pickett is a 2nd rounder. Call it a gut feeling. He just doesn't smell right, he's not going to the draft, reports are just very lukewarm about him.
  2. Maybe we write a sternly written letter lol
  3. With how weird JAX has been, time to place your bets on Neal if that's the case lol.
  4. I've seen enough reports about his stock flying high, he obviously interviews fantastic if you've caught any of his vids or pro-day, and his play is just downright dirty. The control he has at such a high in-game speed is not normal. In a league driven by offense, he's the biggest offensive boost in this entire draft. He will be a surprise early pick, maybe not by us, but could be a trade up for Philly as I'm predicting or maybe another team who sneaks ahead of ATL. I DO NOT want him in Atlanta.
  5. It's all over the place this week, but I take Neal all day. Still a chance Neal could go #1. JAX needs to help Trevor all they can because he didn't just look bad because of his colleagues and coaching last season. He's not quite what the media hyped him up to be IMO. Overall, I'm still flirting with the idea of Garret Wilson as I truly think he's a Chase/Jefferson/Kupp level impact guy. I just think you're setting a QB up for success (whoever it is) if you're handing them CMC, DJ Moore and Garrett Wilson. But to the point 1. Neal 2A/B. Ickey/Cross
  6. You go and get the guy you want--the ones that are going to be game changers, even if it costs future capital. Find the guys that put you over the top when you're at pick 6 (especially) If you think you found your Allen, Mahomes, you get them however you can. And those QBs are found all over. At 10, 12, in the 3rd (Russ), 4th (Dak), etc. etc. I personally don't have that guy in this draft. And it doesn't seem like the team does either, but hey, I could be wrong and be happy if we finally roll the dice somehow. I do very much agree: You don't play this trade down game. If there's a top talent you want, get him. So then if we like a non-QB that much on offense at 6, then yes, get him. I.E. Bengals last year with Chase over Sewell. Who knows regarding next year, there's a whole draft and season to play out. Right now, Young and Stroud are the talk of the town, buuuut come this time next year, we could be talking Levis, McCall and Haener for all we know. I would brace for an end of 1st trade UP much like the Ravens did for Lamar. We may roll that type of dice. I just don't see us falling back into this crappy veteran purgatory again with jobs on the line. I will not be whining if we end up with a QB high (however that happens). We're at least rolling the dice. Just don't make it Pickett. He screams bust, Hasselback at best.
  7. Scenario-- 1. JAX - Neal 2. DET - Hutchinson 3. HOU - Stingley/Sauce 4. NYJ - Thibodeaux/JJII 5. NYG - Thibodeaux/JJII/Cross/Ekwonu Even with Neal gone, still a good chance Ekwonu and Cross are available.
  8. Makes sense. A trade down is not out of the cards, or even a R2 trade up. I can see a scenario with just about every QB to us minus Malik given the situation.
  9. I agree although I don’t think JLC’s inside sources are Carolina rooted. That part of his “insider” article seemed to be pure speculation.
  10. Deebo to the Jets? The 49ers may end up with the 10th pick come draft time. And honestly, they could land a better receiver there in Jameson Williams or Garrett Wilson https://www.ninersnation.com/2022/4/25/23040199/49ers-news-deebo-trade-draft-trey-lance-jimmy-g-stefon-diggs-samuel-davante-contract-nfl-golden
  11. And oh boy, JLC released his latest erhhhh Pickett at 6 lol: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2022-nfl-draft-insider-notes-heres-how-jason-la-canfora-sees-the-top-10-picks-playing-out/
  12. Yeah I thought the praise for him was a bit premature. It seems like there’s always these apparent “generational” OL talent we just can’t pass on in recent drafts…when in reality, the only to come into fruition being Nelson. I mean just last year Sewell was this can’t miss dude and nearly everyone pegged Slater as this other tier lower.
  13. Another just general note is that the Jets worked out Jermaine Johnson and have vetted him very hard. Should note he could very likely be their guy if Thib is gone at 3. Or they may even covet him over Thibodaux.
  14. Collating some notable tidbits I've come across. This thread will have constant update/adds because I'm being nerdy about the draft this year. Thibodeaux to Houston at 3? Rising again?: WalterFootball (I know, take it for what it's worth): 4/24: Updating a previous item, the former Texans employee believes Kayvon Thibodeaux will be the pick. - Walter Cherepinsky, WalterFootball.com The IOL Prospects are not as you expect... Word is that there are zero teams that have a 1st Round grade on Linderbaum Both Cole Strange and Cam Jurgens has ascended during the process. Much higher on boards than perceived. Source: 2022 NFL Draft News and Rumors: Will the Green Bay Packers finally draft a wide receiver? (profootballnetwork.com) Kyle Hamilton Free Fall? Per Pauline and a few others as reported this week, sounds like Hamilton may fall anywhere between 15-20 (maybe further?) Packers draft rumors: Could Kyle Hamilton fall into Green Bay's range? (lombardiave.com) Garrett Wilson Top-5 Prospect? Per Jordan Schultz: "Wilson, according to one GM I spoke with, is one of the best receivers I've evaluated over the past five years. Speed, route-running, hands, can break the game open at any time." *Should note that every team went to his pro day. Trade-Likely Teams: DENVER, Carolina, Seattle, Minny, Philly & LAC This is per my SF FO ties (take it or leave it)
  15. Yeah this draft is the biggest tossup I’ve ever seen. There was some anonymous GM quote about how they think the online rankings are going to look silly where they see who goes in the first (and who doesn’t)
  16. There is a pretty big chance Thib, Walker, and Sauce could be available when we pick. Hell, all 3 could be available if it's a combo of Aiden, Stingley, Neal, Johnson, Cross, Icky, a few possibilities. BUT--if they would be willing to consider a DE or CB (AGAIN) and at 6 OVERALL, then I'm honestly pissed they wouldn't be looking at Garrett Wilson at 6. This is our highest pick since Cam, and it would be nice to have an offense that doesn't fall off the rocker without CMC. Honestly, if we're rolling into 2023 with basically just Moore and the hope that Marshall and Tremble don't bust, we're going to be a bad shape REALLY quick yet again on offense no matter the QB. CMC could beout, Moton older, Bozeman is a 1-year. We basically have secured Moton, Moore, and Corbett. Marshall smells like a bust, Shi the same, hoping Tremble takes the big leap. Wilson is hands down the best playmaker in the draft in the mold of a Diggs and Kupp. And those are the types taking their teams to the next level. Chase, Kupp, Diggs, I'd like to see Cousins without Jefferson. Rams don't win the SB without Kupp. He was the real 2021 MVP. So, if they're being all ridiculous and don't feel inclined to get a OL or QB, then go the best offensive impact available in an offensive driven league. That would be the true forward thinking approach. Add OLs throughout the rest of the draft and hand that arsenal of Moore/Wilson off to a rookie in 2023. They're setting the offense up to fall apart the second it may get good.
  17. I think they’re looking at Ridder hard. I’m imagining these draft rooms and just don’t see any of these teams genuinely getting stoked to grab Pickett R1. These guys like Corral and Pickett may go way later than people expect. At this stage, more than just Zappe could be available for us late R4
  18. Pickett is day 2 at best. Maybe, maaaaaybe someone takes him late first but I really only see Ridder and Malik in R1
  19. Scenario (Alternates in parenthesis): 1. JAX: Evan Neal OT (Aiden Hutchinson DE) 2. DET: Aiden Hutchinson DE (Thibodeaux DE/Walker DTE/Sauce CB) 3. HOU: Stingley CB (Sauce CB) 4. NYJ: JJII DE (Thibodeaux DE/Sauce CB/Walker DTE) 5. NYG: Cross OT...(or Walker, Thibodeaux?) Available: Walker, Sauce Gardner, Ickem Ekwonu, Kayvon Thibodeaux We could trade down with a DE/CB needy team (SEA at 9?) and hope Ickem slides to it. Have to think Sauce, Thib, & Walker would go. Maybe even a WR.
  20. Pauline is sending out a lot of noise this weekend for the teams he used to work for.
  21. Addendum: Cross is the hot name this weekend. Is he truly ahead of Neal and Ekwonu for teams? Could be that pick at #5 for NYG. There are a lot of rumblings w/NYG in general, they're playing games right now because of having us sandwiched/as a trade spot. That sequence of 3 picks 5-7 will shape the entire draft. I wanted to put Quay Walker in here but couldn't find the spot. Doubling down on: -Sauce & Stingley Top-5 -Jameson Williams Top-10 -Jermaine Johnson over Thib at 4 -Paschal in the 1st -Karlaftis to NE. I just really sense this one. My best guesses for trades: -Philly actually trading up for Garrett Wilson (or a DL) ahead of rivals/other needy clubs (NYG, NYJ, ATL, WAS). I tried to make the mock without trades but I see him as super coveted. Pairing what I've seen in interviews with his nonstop star performances, I think teams are ALL over the kid. I see us or Seattle as their trade partners. He's like Kupp meets Jefferson. I know, high praise. But those are the players putting their teams in position to win these days. -Tying in with that, Seattle trading down. I think this is around where the major tier drops if you don't need a WR. -Vikings trading down. I don't think their needs align with the top talent. They're also in an odd spot if there's no good secondary or edge left by 12. That 12 spot and the 2 DTs are going to be targets. It's otherwise a BAD interior DL class and there's two clear dudes at the top. The teams in need are late-teens to mid-20s.
  22. Haha yep. That’s the scenario I referenced at pick 7 for NYG. Even though we’re sandwiched by them, it actually could help us have them pick a DE if they think we’re trading back. The CB buzz has me thinking it could easily be the case. It’s a bit of a game NYG and us will be playing.
  23. I think Cross could happen and him that low is not indicative of his rank. There may be truth to him at #1 on the Giants board. Both him and Ickey check a lot of boxes. Just depends on what you want out of the gate. Think Ickey will have the best blend of power and technique over time if he stays on his trajectory. Seems really built to handle modern DEs.
