  1. That’s where this just gets muddy for me. I really don’t like how he speaks as if these are his decisions but then say something like Marty ran that draft. GMs and coaches working in tandem are the best and it’s just a very odd thing Tepper put in place here.
  2. The biggest takeaway is I really don’t think there is a set workflow between him and Fitterer. I basically think Rhule can supersede Scott when he chooses. I find the GM-HC relationship we have very out of sync.
  3. Really surprised he doubled down on that after how dominant Slater was this season. I would’ve asked about Wirfs and Wills as a follow up.
  4. I liked Fields pre draft but agree, he doesn’t have what it takes to make the big league leap. Many scouts saw it. I don’t like Rhule turning the Horn-Slater thing into an indictment on Horn. Skirted his way around that. It’s about building a competent OL, not about Horn. They didn’t compensate in FA for not picking tackles in 1 or 2. Picked two very middling OL veterans to immediately sign with a decent FA market at our disposal. I’m just as ticked off we didn’t land Cosmi, Radunz, or Carman in R2 as Slater R1. Would have helped stomach this a lot better. I would have grilled on that subsequent strategy and the current status of Marshall. We drafted him 2nd, why the hell didn’t we use him when there was abundant lineman available?
  5. Irsay seemed to have written that before the day saw it’s snowfall.
  6. If we’re looking at the Pederson-Reich tree, might as well fire Rhule and get Pederson-Groh HC-OC. He was Reich’s heir who did aight and then management forced Pederson’s hand for guys he didn’t want..and then Wentz fell apart. Lot’s of snippets out there for the Groh debacle. Pretty bad that he and Gary Kubiak’s son are the best options. Good god.
  7. True that’s why I prefaced it as unrealistic and just my ideal targets/offseason per the premise of the thread. If we’re talking realistically, we’re f*cked
  8. Within the premise of the thread, not my ultimate realistic scenario or preferred long term, a 1 year plan for OL+QB: FA/Roster reset moves: Release: Erving Let Jackson, Jordan & Miller walk Target a younger FA LB to lead this defense Try to sign Gilmore but don’t break the bank, let him walk if it’s eating into OL allocation. We’ll have Horn-Bouye-Hendo-Taylor Put DJ on the block through the season and quietly. Yeah I said it, don’t think he warrants a huge new contract come 23. Sell him HIGH OL/QB approach: 1. My favorite veteran to get is Ted Karras from NE. Top tier center, midwesterner boy, great alternate experience starting at RG recently and it seems RG is his new spot. Just a sure thing, known commodity and not a BS reclamation. 2. 2nd favorite vet is Austin Corbett on the LAR. LOVED him in his draft class, was an assumed bust but ascended this year for LA playing over 1000 snaps, only 2 sacks given up and has been an asset for them. Thing is, he came in as relief so they’ll be strapped to sign him. He would come here and kick ass out of the gate. 2. Trade w/Denver so they can land Corral/Pickett at 6, leapfrogging ATL to get their guy—land their #9, a high 2nd (they have 2) and a 6th. 3. Draft Best Lineman Available at #9 (Ekwonu) 4. Use new capital to trade up for Carson Strong (fave QB this year) 5. BPA remaining draft (prioritize OL 4-6) New Line: LT: Ekwonu LG: Elflein/Christensen Center: Corbett RG: Karras RT: Moton Brady C & Brown are your main depth pieces at LT, LG, & RG We’ll get a best potential LT in the draft and two totally respectable OL signings with the stud being Karras. Plus more depth in R4 and maybe 5. That’s my OL that wouldn’t let Strong be murdered. You test them out behind Darnold first. If we’re losing, throw Strong into the wolves. We’ll either be on track for a top pick in 23’ or have found our QB1. El fin.
  9. A Bobby Slowik & Jon Embree would be one of my top choices from SF coming as a package of young guns. See what he can do with better TE integration for Tremble’s development and they’ve been Kyle S’s right hands behind that new promising OC of theirs. Although if we just fired Rhule, could get Hacket AND Gray to possibly come here from GB and build something special.
  10. I’d prefer Kubiak’s professional “brother” in Rick Dennison who’s trying to teach up mini-Gary. And prefer as in prefer rather than Kubiak. Don’t want to touch someone from the Vikes offensive staff.
  11. No kin of has-been 90s coordinators please
  12. Yup. It’s also why I won’t put too much into thinking we can simply trade back. I’m bracing for a potential QB pick but maybe we go OL and stay at 6.
  13. “Dearest Panther fans, I want to make a point to address you all after what may seem like a lost season and explain the direction and trust I have in people at the helm…[fart noise]”
  14. There are so many potential coaches available/actualizing this year from Harbaugh, Bienemy, Hackett, Eferblus, O’Connell, Daboll, Flores, Peterson, to Leftwich…and we’re going to side into the junk pile and get scraps after firing Rhule too late.
  15. It’s not too late to fire him Tepper. We already look stupid so let’s just get it done with. New OC be damned. Time to shut it down and let Fit & Morgan facilitate a search.
  16. I’m interested to see how he can finagle some added picks without making some big trade down dropping us out of picking a top tier talent near #6
  17. The only large FA move I can see is Center. There’s like 5-7 starters set to become UFAs. Wildcard being LB as well if Shaq gets unloaded somehow
  18. Bouye is a forgotten man who I thought was our best asset and is contracted through 2022. Jackson can make money elsewhere. We’re set IMO with Horn-Gilmoure-Bouye-Henderson-Taylor Just let Jackson walk and work with Gilmore on a respectable vet/hometown deal. Not the end of the world if he doesn’t come back though so not overpay.
  19. If no QBs go (or) a team loves Pickett or Corral, I can see a trade back. Nothing grand but I’m looking at Washington or Minny at 11 & 12. Or a much less splash trade could simply be Denver leapfrogging ATL to land one at our pick. They have (2) seconds and (2) thirds. Lets get their Rams 2nd with a 6 to 9 swap. Draft NCSU or Iowa OLs and land maybe Ridder or Strong next
  20. Interesting that Pep and O’Connell are both being viewed as HC candidates. Maybe Tepper has taken away Rhule’s offensive role all together and he can just be the ra-ra coach he is and lay his fortunes on the defense with Phil. If we do poorly then poooosh—-Kevin O’Connell or Pep Hamilton become interim or maybe long term.
  21. Holy fried potatoes is UGA’s defense amazing. Their line has one of the most insane quickness+power combos I’ve ever seen in CFB maybe ever.
  22. Let us not forget the UFAs also would need to agree to come to Charlotte, NC to play for Matt Rhule lol.
