  1. If someone is constantly alluding to a culture being created and aspiring to some sort of grand idea of one, then you're directionless and won't really build one. You need tight bonds, top talent, and great coaching--from that it should just spawn into its own unique thing. We have none of those three. Those elements creates the energy in the building to build a juggernaut with good direction/leadership. It's coaching and talent. Coaching lays the groundwork and sets the tone and then the players (most notably a legit QB) get you over the hump and help bring it all together. We barely have any of it minus a few promising parts in Chinn, Burns, & Horn. We have a long way to go after we fire this staff who basically blew up a nice foundation Rivera left.
  2. 1. Ikem Ekwonu 2. Charles Cross 3. Evan Neal 4. Garrett Wilson 5. Matt Corral
  3. Watching the mid-range throws in practice just give me pause. He doesn't seem to have authority over the throw. Every throw just lands soft with no zip. I don't like seeing that on the 15-30 yarders. Those floating sideliners get picked in the big leagues all day. His highlights and games show he can make good decisions on the run and have good downfield placement when set, but I just never see the true command over the throw/accuracy wise.
  4. I would be much warmer to the idea for Pickett if he was just generally undersized like Burrow (which isn't really "undersized" IMO). The rule of thumb (pun not intended) among NFL coaches was always minimum 9.5". We're talking an entire standard nail smaller. Burrow was .5" under, not an issue. We could be going from the ONLY active starting QB that wears 2 gloves (Teddy) to the worst starting QB in the league (Darnold) to a 24-year-old rookie who wears two gloves (Pickett) They really know how to pick 'em. End this clownshow
  5. Corral interests me the most at this point. I've said it before, he could be a more-gutsy version of what people thought Mariotta was (Who I see starting again next year on a QB starved market) Pickett has some great qualities but I am legit concerned about hand size. He's beyond the fringe zone where you can make up for it elsewhere and it's just straight up a physical limitation. It's not comparable to Burrow, he's got the 2nd smallest in recorded history for QBs. That's why I find it weird analysts are shrugging it off; we're talking all time undersized for something many coaches have deemed important throughout modern NFL history.
  6. I purposely left off an out response to see what people think of Pickett. We all hate Rhule.
  7. Do you approve of Pickett at 6? Also—added q: would you approve of Corral and/or Willis?
  8. Yup. I’m personally on a sleeper Jake Haener train for next year. This year, zeroing in on Corral but the class is nothing special.
  9. Everyone seems to be throwing themselves on the anti-Pickett or gamble-on-Willis train but Corral is the only one I’ve never taken huge hesitation with. His stock will grow. Pickett and Willis are at highs right now and need to sustain through these undie Olympics.
  10. He’s the best blend of polished, intangibles, measurables, and upside of the bunch. He’s gone quiet simply because of the Senior Bowl hype but he was the consensus #1 for a bit and for a reason. He has two knocks: a bit trim/the frame is a bit nimble and coming from such a RPO heavy scheme/the unknowns. He could be what people thought Mariotta was.
  11. I'm not making a case for him. I'm just asking how you would build the line is the event this happens. That's it. Not saying its good or bad or really anything. The scenario might as well be "Build an OL without Pick 6 being an OL" But I won't get mad at the responses. It's honestly an indictment on this staff and team that the fanbase can't even discuss draft/FA scenarios. This board is typical filled with them by now and its apparently just not happening. Just vitriol and poo throwing.
  12. Thanks for actually responding to the question. Sound. Unsure if we can realistically get two B-rated or above FA OLs but I’d have to imagine that’s the optimal signings scenario if we go Pickett/QB at 6. You can find starting guards in the 3-4th rounds so I could also see a slight trade up into the 3rd with our 4th and maybe one of the 5ths to assure a good guard prospect.
  13. Something pretty wild—DJ Moore is only like 8 months older than Pickett
  14. It seems it could very well happen come April. So in the event he’s our new franchise QB, I’ve got two questions: How would you build the OL and how would you get back into the 2nd or 3rd round? We have: Pick 106 (Early Round 4) Pick 143 (Early Round 5) Pick 148 (Early Round 5) Pick 198 (Late Round 6) Pick 245 (Late 7th) Would also be interested to see who you think would be trade candidates player wise to get more picks. Recommend this thread for FA OLs: So yeah, I’m just interested to see what people think since I know ideally we’d all love to capitalize on what seems to be a VERY good OL class in the first few rounds. Cheers
  15. I wish he would've asked about Corral. With him not at the Senior Bowl, I'm as much, even more interested in what the scouts think of him. He was the consensus top pick at one point before Willis and Pickett came surging along this year. #JakeHaenerClub2023
  16. It will be the Pennsylvania club with Rhule, Tepper, & this kid.
  17. To be fair, his 2021 season was by all means a really good one at Pitt. I do think he'd be a fringe 1st/2nd rounder last year. 2020, I'd say he would have gone ahead of Jordan Love, well behind Herbert. 1st. 2019, ahead of Lock & Haskins. Ahead or behind Daniel Jones? 1st either way. 2018, he would have been considered in that Rosen/Lamar Jackson tier. Mid-late 1st. 2017, well ahead of Kizer, behind Watson/Mahomes. He seems like a mid to late first most years but will be drafted higher very much like Daniel Jones' situation.
  18. He basically fosters both pro and college scouting departments. He gets his guys to prepare all the reports, offers his input, Rhule simply has final say. It really seems like Fit has a vision when he talks that he wants to push into the fore but you can tell Rhule wins out. He doesn't seem like a straight up yes man, more of a company man, playing his cards.
  19. It's true. Everything aligns from Tepper's background, to the QB need, to having our highest draft pick since Cam. Only difference this time around is having a lame duck coach instead of one in his first season. If we draft him, I will hope for the best. And by best, meaning he shows promise, hands aren't an issue, we still suck, and get a new coach to bring him up in 2023.
  20. Given Tepper’s propensity to be all in, looking to buck trends, and trying for the newer hyped guys, I see Jerod Mayo as a strong possibility.
  21. Rhule "Hey Paul, what do you think about coaching DL for me?" Paul: "Is this the milkman? Oh nevermind, yes, count me in Mr. coach. I love Tight Ends"
  22. By all accounts it seemed he was given a cushy Gators job/pseudo retired the last 2 years. Rhule is digging up some NFL grave sites.
