  1. Even if these reports aren’t true, we are truly the most vapidly, uninspired, transparently desperate group of mediocre car salesmen I’ve ever seen.
  2. We are the least nuanced organization and leak out more than old man poopy on Smelly Mountain.
  3. We are the least nuanced organization and leak out more than old man poopy on Smelly Mountain.
  4. It's Pickett, Willis, a stupid trade, or FA/Darnold season 2. We can get all blinded and fool ourselves into thinking the Glasses and Ridders of the world could work out but it's just not happening. It seems teams are lukewarm on Corral and the rest of the class is just not good.
  5. Not joking, I'd be down to just give Morgan our GM keys and bring Luke back in as an AHC/Consultant to Dan's handpicked HC. Fit could be good but the whole Rhule/Fit situation needs to just be washed away. Morgan & Sal can stay as one is the personnel/team builder and the other is the money guy. F it, let's go full linebacker for 2023-- GM: Dan Morgan HC: Jerod Mayo AHC/Defensive Consultant: Luke Kuechly QB: Bryce Young
  6. I remember thinking guys like our own James Morgan, Chad Kelly, Anthony Gordon, Stash Minshew (well he sorta has worked out)...it's so few and far between. If you have a shot at the highest upside dude and have the need, you kind of have to (Willis). That may be what we will do. Or just take Pickett because it seems inevitable.
  7. I like a lot about Coan's leadership, growth and short & intermediate throwing. Top of the class with throws under 20 yards in catchable balls & on-target percentage. His issue comes with long passing. He's dead last in on-target % deep balls in this draft class. However, he has a strong arm so it doesn't mean he can't improve. Overall, he could be a late 2nd-4th rounder. I could see him actually playing in the NFL and not just sit as a backup and fizzle out like many "hyped" mid-rounders before. Examples--Our practice squadder in James Morgan, Hackenberg, Kizer, Kellen Mond, Geno, Pickles, Grier, etc. Really like Coan as a prospect though. Could see him thriving ni a system that uses a TE heavily. His placement on those seam routes is routinely perfect. Take him after an OL high. Coan is the one I see going higher than these websites are projecting. He will perk the interest of many teams & is a guy I'd trade up into the 3rd for using one of those extra 5ths. With the other guys: After some early hype, I think Zappe & Ridder will go lower than people think. I'm very undecided on Ridder. Some days like him but others just see a Josh Dobbs type guy who will never do much. Also, just hate his mechanics. Zappe had a poor Senior Bowl but I think his hype is warranted, but the arm strength is a concern. Strong & Howell are that late 1st-2nd territory that need to get brought into the right situation and could play well in the league. However, I see neither as special or taking the league by storm--ever. Just nothing special to them. Pickett, Corral, & Willis are still firmly at the top but not without some BIG question marks. Not a huge fan, Willis may be the one to swing for, but I don't see Rhule doing it. Crum's mechanics are bad, and I can see him not getting drafted. I've seen you hype Eleby but wouldn't go out on a limb for him. I just really don't like him under pressure, he will turn the ball over a lot in the NFL. It's just a BAD class.
  8. I really liked him during the season and at the beginning of the offseason/draft build but I've veered away as I've done with basically every QB in this class. At this point, I actually wouldn't mind going BOLA in R1 and then maybe see if a QB slips late 3rd we could make a slight trade up for. Low risk, can easily move on for a first rounder in 2023 like Young, Haener or Stroud with a new coach. Don't see it happening with Rhule though. Pickett will likely be our pick folks barring Corral or Willis getting unecessary momentum/buzz around them.
  9. I'd listen to what comes in but not actively shop. We're looking at his 2nd contract coming off his 5th year (2022) and he's only 24. If he was 26 and requiring top-5 money, then yes, I would explore it and see what type of value is there. But I think we can cement him here for the next regime. He was the first receiver taken in his draft for a reason and will be 28-29 at the end of whatever contract he gets. You listen if you're clearly getting more than just 1 pick. I can imagine a lot of teams wanting him on his 5th year and to work on a new extension. All just depends on what's presented but wouldn't be active in trading him, rather listening to what may come knocking.
  10. It really comes down to staff, personnel foundations and QB. I personally feel you need the right staff first and foremost but if there's enough strong players/limiting the need for a roster blow up, then that's fine. We picked a bad coach and let him blow up a team that didn't really need to be blown up.
  11. The Athletic Football Show had J-Rodrique on and they discussed this is detail that it's much more nuanced than just going all in. They managed to come away with a lot of contributors and still build a foundation through the past few drafts. Kupp WR (arguably the league MVP this year IMO), Rapp S, Edwards (Their starting LG), Brian Allen (starting RG), Henderson RB, Van Jefferson WR, Akers RB, Terrell Lewis LB, Rochell CB, Skowronek WR. Also, when you're landing all of these great free agents on shorter deals, you're getting comps. 6 of their 8 picks are comp this season. This is not just an all-in approach. It's an all hands on deck, let's build the best team we possibly canm approach because we have an awesome coaching staff and can lure them to LA.
  12. Part of me wants to hold on disliking Tepper a ton. Not because of his non-football success, mainly because we just don't know what the deal is behind the scenes. He clearly told his first big gamble in Rhule that this is it. I just don't see how he's content and don't see some friendly peer type relationship between them. We can joke and all but we don't have some senile old dude running the show anymore. What he is is a guy who seems a bit stubborn about building something and intent on going all in. You produce or you're out. I'm not a fan of lame ducking but I can see that being the case with Tepper deciding not to look impatient for prospective coaching hires post-Rhule. And he wants a QB, Watson went from a potential mega-trade to the whole massage fiasco, then Stafford denied us, but otherwise, the only true miss was not cutting ties with Ron sooner to land Burrow, Tua or Herbert. Otherwise, who were the QBs we really missed out on? Hurts? Lance? Wilson? Fields? I mean, I'm honestly okay with that. Those are guys those teams will be strapped with until they find out they don't have "it" I wanted Rivera gone just as much as Rhule when we were sitting at 1-6, 2-8 in his second year with Cam seemingly regressing. Then he rallied the team back (I can't see Rhule doing, not the same type of coach). Giving a coach that 3rd year is a gamble in itself. Did us keeping Rivera actually prevent us from winning a SB? Did keeping him longer after Tepper arrive screw us out of Burrow or Herbert? Herbert, likely. Well maybe the tradewinds are on our side this time because we truly have a bad coach and not one that rallies. Maybe keeping Rhule will be a blessing in disguise because he'll shrivel when his back is against the wall and we're sitting on top of the 2023 draft. That's my optimism lol. Maybe he sees a rookie QB+new coach setup clearly possible in 2023, that pick is out of bounds, but otherwise, it's sh*t or get off the pot time for Rhule.
  13. Would love a lot of those mentioned (especially Glowinski). But we’re likely looking at guys like Bozeman, Karras, Ben Jones. That next tier that may have avg annuals under the $10 mil mark. Maybe Norwell. He seemed to brush off his 2020 down year and was one of the rare bright spots in JAX
  14. They're just a year off but DJ is older born 97, Pickett 98. Still though, DJ is going into his 5th year with Pickett getting drafted. That's cray cray
  15. Without a new QB or NFL caliber coach, there won’t be anything getting me excited for this team. That being said, there’s not really a new vet or rookie QB that would even have me excited prior to season starting. Maybe Corral or Willis but they’re a stretch. No FA QBs and the trade market doesn’t look good for us. Maybe at the best we can find a Delhomme/Romo type situation with CJ Beathard, Nick Mullens or some bullsh*t. Until then, I’m eyeing Stroud, Young or Haener 2023 with Jerod Mayo. Maybe if CMC can play a full season again and Marshall and/or Shi showing out to be a legit receiver. Umm, yep there’s not much.
  16. I'd like to think we could get more than Pick 16 for Burns (his original selection). If anything, I'd basically shop him for a min 2023 1st & 2022 mid-rounder regardless of who we may get at the top of the draft. However, I do like him and he could grow into a premier player if he can continue to refine his run-d skills.
  17. Per that earlier post--Was not aware of his character concerns. The best QBs are a bit of pricks but his HS-to-college transition does seem a bit immature. I'm still open to the kid though. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ole-miss-matt-corral-faced-a-reckoning-head-on-allowing-a-team-leader-to-emerge-on-the-other-side/ Could be a fluff, but people can change. He checks the most marks and has the least concerns on the field in my opinion while being the closest to the modern mold. Don't mind him at 6 but prefer Ekwonu, Neal, Cross, and dare I say Garrett Wilson over him.
  18. Two FA targets I'd like: Bradley Bozeman C/G: Solid starter, won't be the cream of the market but would be our instant starter for years to come and help open up options on the line come the draft. I like FAs from the AFCN. ~$8-10 mil/yr Anthony Walker Jr. LB: We need a complimentary linebacker that can work with Shaq. I think Walker is a great fit. I'd imagine he's ~$6-8 mil/yr The rest would need to be the standard style FA pickups we make because we are what we are. It is what it is.
  19. Not saying this is the most important but there are countless times during a game where a QB will have to tuck it, pump fake, try to slither out of an arm swat, hold on during an almost-sack, lots of scenarios. I just find it a concern/flaw you can't really fix which makes him a no-go for me. You're basically owning a guy who can easily cough it up and needs to wear 2 gloves.
  20. Yay another Quarterback thread. So it's funny, after being a discussion point and something analysts will typically knock, I'm very surprised so many are looking past this hand thing with Pickett. Maybe it's because they feel Burrow's success makes it less of a concern or the way more modern QBs (Mainly just Mahomes) palm the ball, but it gives me huge pause. Let's get technical about it: Pickett barely grips a football 1-3 (Meaning 1st+3rd lace). Sometimes it's almost like a 2-3. It's essentially the pinky to ring finger displacement for holding that sucker. Larger the hands, typically the larger the differential, more coverage for gripping the ball. See below: Now why are we caring? Am I just getting overly critical? Nope. I.E.--Brady was a 1-4, hell, Baker manages 2-4. Most QBs are 2-4 or 2-5 (largest hands). That alone is pretty easy to see why (a) he wears gloves & (b) why that ball is not secure. Joe Burrow for example who supposedly had smaller hands at 9" manages a 2-4 (although gets a bit loose with his pinky like Rodgers, but it's a firm grasp on the ball) Exhibit Brady: Here's the players themselves talking about the grip: Again, just look at this--how will this ever be secured on a blindside hit? (Larger NFL sized ball in this pic). His hands can barely even be seen wrapping the ball: That's my hands argument and why this concerns me. If they were larger, I'd likely view him in a WHOLE other light.
  21. I agree and it's in large part why I made this yes/no. It's a lazy argument while still agreeing to get a QB but in the most unrealistic way (1st rd trade down) I could see an argument if one wants to make one for Pickett but it's rather "not at 6".
  22. Javonte, Jeudy, Sutton, & Fant are a great young group
  23. Not to mention the FAs this situation will attract are money desperate ones. I doubt anyone in their right mind will be like, “oh yeah, Rhule and no QB in Charlotte, NC sounds good to me” I expect very little on the FA front and reaching in the draft.
  24. I think Wilson is gone this year. But I’m still thinking it’s to NYG
