  1. Could see Seattle go young now that they have Drew Lock as a backup/bridge. They don’t really have a good core right now. Wagner is getting old. I will say after Penny finally showed up, him Fant, and Metcalf are about it. Bad OL, a trending down defense. I can see them positioning for Bryce/Stroud/Haener. Something I see a few typically good teams doing that suddenly have QB vacancies.
  2. He sat for a 1.5 years, 1 of which was as 3rd strong behind a UDFA. And when he finally played, looked jumpy and nervous. Had issues calling plays w Davante and was bailed out multiple times. I’d rather gamble on a potential bust than just grab another one.
  3. If they’re keeping Carr, they have a ton of cap and want to build a proper offense around him. Already have a above avg OL and Waller. CMC makes a lot of sense.
  4. A 1st for McCaffrey could be a contingent type but I think that’s reasonable. Not expecting too much but he’s still got value.
  5. I think CMC with Josh McD would be pretty damn interesting paired with Derek Carr. Pick 86 + 2023 1st We toss in a 2023 4th/5th
  6. Yep, agreed. Something I liked from the Athletic pod last week is that a 1st rounder needs to be a top-12 at their position within their rookie contract. And to that point, the first round isn’t all hits but the higher up, the better the rate. So yeah, I don’t think dropping past the mid teens is really to our benefit. You don’t trade down so far with a hope one of three guys is there. A reach isn’t always a bad thing. That’s what many would have called a Slater pick last year. Sometimes your need and a perceived reach can actually land you exactly the guy you’re looking for.
  7. Throw it out there idea—tie CMC to our 6th overall and see who bites and with what.
  8. Have an indirect way of explaining the source?
  9. For 2022: -mediocre cheap FA backup to the Darnold tank commander (Mullens/Dalton) or a 3rd-5th rounder IE Zappe/Glass) -#6 OL or Garrett Wilson -minimum 1-2 more OLs in draft -minimum 1 FA OL signing (proven starter for once) 2023: Jake Haener or CJ Stroud
  10. These were the two contracts that were mentioned before to being ideal for restructuring. Not really a surprise. They want cap to overpay—I mean outbid for guys they want.
  11. There’s always those dudes that end up high first that we all project mid or late first with trade down scenarios. Penning could be that this year.
  12. Wonder if San Fran would shake this: Trey Sermon & Pick 29 (or) 23’ 1st for CMC and 2023’ 4th
  13. YGM needs to develop into a 3-down DE. He's an asset in run-D and would compliment Burns well if he breaks out this season. His pressure % was super good and was always digging into lines. Those 2 with Fox rotating in and playing 1 tech sometimes is fine. Brown is in a big year for 2022. He needs to become a leader for Roy, Nixon and co. Luuvu may be a rare diamond in the rough find with this awful regime.
  14. Being a bad scheme requires us to have a scheme lol. I don't even think Rhule really has an "offense".
  15. Between injuries and coaching, CMC's legacy here will be a bit lost over time. He had a solid 2018 with Cam, the one monster year with Kyle Allen, & then the rest is history. I can see him making a name for himself more in his second spot if he gets past these two injury ridden seasons.
  16. If he is 10 mil+, hell no. I'm starting to lean towards the Darnold disaster train 2022 and to simply grab a cheap Hoyer-esque option as a tank commander backup. Just use the cash somewhere else to help with a longer term contract, not this fool. (Apparently the Rogers bit is showing, not the Mitch part--but he's supposedly garnering interest and will be upwards toward 10 mil)
  17. Chinn & Horn are the only Rhule brought in pieces I’d still want to keep. That’s about it. They can blow up the rest, sure. It’s not like they know what they want on offense or defense anyways. Just bs artists with no true scheme.
  18. Having 3 competent linemen would help BC and Elf or whoever is out there. Would be nice to land a Bozeman, Karras, Laken, or Corbett. Unsure about Norwell. I don’t really think BC is some long term answer. I know we want him to be but it may just not be the case. Potentially great backup/serviceable starter at times.
  19. The whole “fanbase is worse” shtick is super frustrating. Tends to be an echo chamber about how much they dislike other fan’s views of the team. Yep, the very thing they’re saying they don’t want to do. So don’t discuss the bad things about the team or the good. Just about how much we dislike those saying the bad. Like, you’re wasting your own time if you’re being honest.
  20. I just feel we get so many direct knowledge sources of behind the scenes stuff whereas a lot of other spots it’s more rumors or the transactions themselves.
