  1. Unsure how it will shake out career wise, but the compensation is now known with players, no longer future picks: 2021 6th: Trey Smith OG Tennessee - This pick ended up being shipped to KC from NYJ. It turned out pretty damn well but these are hit/miss and he fell due to medical. We had a chance to draft him twice before this pick in the round. It is simply not the trades fault, rather our own for not taking the chance instead of Deonte or Fletcher. 2022 2nd (38): Arnold Ebiketie EDGE ended up being picked by ATL at 38. The Jets trade to NYG, the Giants trade it to Atlanta. A developmental, slightly undersized edge rusher. Boom/bust 2022 4th: Max Mitchell OT ended up going to the Jets with their 4th rounder. I liked him, has a lot of potential at RT or guard. Developmental, will likely be a depth piece. -- I will not provide much more commentary, but it is known.
  2. Please, for the love of god, just move past Cam. Loved him from 2011-2018. It's 2022, let's just move on.
  3. Yep. Mac Jones was arguably more of a nightmare behind the scenes but he's that pepp'd up southern boy so he was never really ridden hard for it. I remember a story about the sheriff or whatever basically telling him that they had his back or whatever. I think it's a non-issue. If he can get a bit thicker & the schemes and playbook under control, I've got a ton of hope for him.
  4. Just awesome all around. Rare to have a guy grow up a fan when we're under 30 years old as a franchise. Hopefully we'll start to see more of these guys start to pop up as prospects moving forward. Helps really build something fun, dudes wanting to sport the black & blue.
  5. Kids go through growing pains with learning their limits and hopefully grow from it. ANd that can bleed into their early 20s as well. Just gotta hope for the best. The bigger concern was the difficulty in interviews with teams--that's when they throw a lot of concepts at these kids so paired with the Wonderlic, just hope he picks things up. I mean, Dak and Mahomes were kind of in similar boats coming out and had to learn a lot quickly. I'm hopeful. Just hope he doesn't do any stupid sh*t, he's a professional now, it isn't college anymore.
  6. I will say, totally forgot we signed Xavier Woods to a multi-year deal. And Cory Littleton is no pushover but that's just a 1-year deal.
  7. I think we're set up quite nicely for a 2023 mini-refresh if things go off the tracks in a hurry. Matt is a 3rd+4th round investment & it doesn't preclude us from going QB with a new coach in 2023. Meanwhile, we can get overly optimistic we got ourselves a Dak type situation with Corral. And maybe Rhule can turn a corner with NFL guys around him. And we have no more hamstringed longterm contracts holding us back after this year. Just a handful of foundational guys here for sure come 23' Moore, Icky, Moton, Corbett, Horn, Chinn, Burns, Donte, Brown, X Woods, YGM, & Luvu Finger crossed for guys like K Taylor, Brady C, Marshall, Tremble, Nixon, Hoskins The rest are either vets that could go elsewhere (CMC, Hendo, Shaq, Robbie, Littleton, etc.) or just bottom roster types
  8. We have a history of picking some decent dudes around this range like CJ, Daryl, Klein, Mayo, Carter, Norman, Taylor (Most recently). We also have drafted guys like Beau Sandland and Stefon LeFors. It's a tossup but you can find some talent. Wouldn't mind taking a shot at a RB. You can definitely find effective ones these days a bit later. Exhibit A: Elijah Mitchell beating out his own fellow rookie and the SF RB room to rock it out last season. Maybe Snoop Connor, Max Borghi, Rhule's boy Ebner, Kyren Williams, Pierre Strong. There's some solid RBs out there. That App State LB looks cool.
  9. Interested to see the impression he gives off in the presser. He’s a cocky kid, good tools, grit on field. Anyone can grow and change so we’ll see. Not some major risk. So take the upside.
  10. Watch out for that trade icon come that Chicago pick
  11. We were probably waiting to see who would be the first QB domino to fall before really hitting the phones hard. I mean, people can bash these guys all they want but no one expected this. Pretty wild.
  12. Yeah this is getting a bit odd. Not like there’s some can’t miss talent elsewhere. There must be a lot teams saw to not peg him high.
  13. Well that's not what I'm saying. He seems peeled back from the PR side of things, so it makes you wonder what else. It seems you're drawing a line at what the "else" is, I don't know what it is.
  14. I feel like there's an odd overreaction to what I'm saying in the OP. I'm not trying to frame this as some false perspective that Rhule has been stripped of all power and is doing nothing and is in the corner getting sh*t on daily by Tepper. The dynamics just seem different and there's been a shift in how things are going. It just seems pretty clear to me. Doesn't mean he still doesn't have final say (double negative), but it's obvious they're letting Scott (and Dan who's all of a sudden getting exposure), be their main PR guys in draft season. It was always really Rhule with Scott there chiming in. It's just not the case, they're peeling him back. And it all just seems dialed back/or checked a bit more on his end.
  15. This is a rather interesting point. Seems Malik (and these other guys) simply aren't providing the value team's want. This draft definitely showed DE and OT is still coveted, but CB and WR have become just as important and in a poor QB class, their value is just as critical/if not more to obtain. I have to think team's are looking at recent success models and seeing how secondary and receiving groups are all top notch, it's not just pass rush and QB anymore. The Rams don't win a lot of games without Kupp, not to mention the NFCCG. Bengals weren't in the title game without Chase. Bills/Allen without Diggs? Brady at his age without Godwin and Evans at 100% became very evident. Can only imagine what Minny could do if they get someone a bit better than Cousins to chuck it to Jefferson. That could become something pretty juicy. Also why I do think the Jets absolutely crushed this draft. WR have some value, hopefully we can get something for Robbie. Want to see some Panthers action tonight.
  16. Maybe we’ll get a little “strong”er
  17. Pretty convinced we’re trading up. Ridder, Howell or Corral. Malik may go too soon/the capital would be too much.
