  1. Better be damn sure that you don't load up on contracts for marginal players, like Matt Kalil... Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate
  2. Good for him. Hope this young man can eventually return to a normal life, maybe even the NFL. Prayers answered.
  3. Trade Burns or Moore and 1.9 to land at 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5. If Young and Stroud are gone, some great talent will be available at those three draft spots. Not only will we get a great young player on a rookie contract, we’ll offload an expensive (Moore) or soon to be very expensive (Burns) contract. Addition by subtraction.
  4. And there’s the race card…
  5. No need to apologize. The memory is the first thing to go as we get older.
  6. Sam hasn’t yet mastered the art of running crisp routes, getting separation and catching his own throw. Bad Sam.
  7. Try decaf before you have a stroke…
  8. Pie for that turn of a phrase. Just beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye.
  9. That’s just wrong on so many levels…
  10. Ouch…. But how do you really feel about him? Don’t be diplomatic.
  11. Oops. Thought this was a thread about Corral. My bad.
  12. Kick him upstairs with a fancy new job title and promotion. Happens in the C suite all the time.
  13. Agree with everything you said. The rub is that the list of reasonably priced FA QB’s that might be considered starter worthy is fairly thin. Most would fall into the backup category, which is why they are available FA’s. Unless you want to break the bank for Carr (please, no), we are picking from a pool that is not really that much better than Sam’s most recent body of work. Minshew maybe? Any other budget friendly bridge quarterbacks better than Minshew or Darnold? “We’re back in the tree, again.” Timmy, Jurassic Park
  14. Piffle. Ours are natural, and everyone knows we are rich and easy… ”I said, I’m drunk, y’all”
  15. Well, we are sitting on a bar stool wearing an unbuttoned blouse, short skirt and fishnet stockings, so ‘hard to get’ is not the look we’re showing here…
  16. Just human nature. Hypothetically, if you have the Owner and HC providing you with their input to not do that trade, you better be damn sure of your job security and your own assessment of the situation before you decline that input.
  17. Along with Tepper, Wilks may have had substantial input into the decision not to do the Burns trade. If anything, I think the incentive would have been for a GM to take that trade, since it was so generous. JMO
  18. Geez, enough of the pearl clutching. It's a sport, not life or death on the Serengeti.
  19. Potentially? You mean success is not guaranteed? In case you missed the game, we were exposed at several positions. Too many needs to trade the farm for a player that may or may not be the answer at QB. We are not one player away from the super bowl. Take a shot at Levis or Richardson if you must but we have many more holes to fill without trying to trade up.
