Agree with everything you said. The rub is that the list of reasonably priced FA QB’s that might be considered starter worthy is fairly thin. Most would fall into the backup category, which is why they are available FA’s. Unless you want to break the bank for Carr (please, no), we are picking from a pool that is not really that much better than Sam’s most recent body of work. Minshew maybe? Along with Tepper, Wilks may have had substantial input into the decision not to do the Burns trade. If anything, I think the incentive would have been for a GM to take that trade, since it was so generous. JMO

Potentially? You mean success is not guaranteed? In case you missed the game, we were exposed at several positions. Too many needs to trade the farm for a player that may or may not be the answer at QB. We are not one player away from the super bowl. Take a shot at Levis or Richardson if you must but we have many more holes to fill without trying to trade up.
