  1. That’s my point. Keep the draft picks and players we traded away, build the core of the team and then you are not gambling it all on the success of a single draft pick, which is not guaranteed to work out anyway. If you have a very strong overall roster, it sure is a hell of lot easier to find a good game manager (Delhomme) than trying to draft lightning in a bottle (Mahomes).
  2. So, a game manager QB can get you a Conference Championship win, and you don’t need to trade the farm for the number 1 draft pick? Who knew?
  3. Is Sir Purr safe or are we looking to poach a mascot from TB or Seattle?
  4. May the odds be ever in your fabor...
  5. I’m sorry. Should I have asked your permission first?
  6. He’s coaching this year to bolster his HC opportunities next year. I doubt he mails it in…
  7. True but Satellite’s OL typically sucks in bad weather games…
  8. Hell, just trade Burns straight up for DJ, and correct the original trade mistake. Doesn’t fix the entire WR room but it would be a step in the right direction.
  9. You have probably heard of the phases of a failed project? The last three phases are 4. Search for the guilty, 5. Punishment of the innocent, and 6. Praise and honor for the non-participants.
  10. I said something similar when Reich was fired; "a mercy killing." I wouldn't be surprised if Reich said, "thank you" when Tepper delivered the news.
  11. It does on the pretty org charts… /s
  12. Many teenage males start with the swimsuit issue… or so I’ve heard.
  13. Maybe Bezos will buy SI, just like he purchased the Washington Post. Traditional print media; where capital goes to die.
  14. The eternal triumph of hope over experience.
  15. To be fair, he’s very tall for a midget but, I get your point.
  16. “And the sea will grant each man new hope, as sleep brings dreams of… past NFC championships.” [With apologies to Christopher Columbus]
  17. He is smart within his area of expertise, running a hedge fund. I think he is now learning (maybe, we hope) that running an NFL team is infinitely harder than running a hedge fund. Who knew?
  18. Jon, come on. Superficially, Siefert at least dressed like an NFL coach/GM. Bellicheat looks like he just stepped off the set of Animal House.
  19. From your lips to God’s ear, please…
  20. Beat me to it... A person of average intelligence makes average level mistakes. To galactically screw up requires someone who is absolutely brilliant... and knows it! [Anyone who has spent years in upper management knows this to be true.]
  21. Ya'll are missing the brilliant strategery of Tepp and Fitterer. We trade Moore and picks to draft Bryce number one in 2023, who becomes the key cog in our 2024 tank strategy, so that we can get the number one pick in 2025. I tell ya, this is next level strategery, boys...
  22. Oh, hell, why not? Bryce and Fields in an open competition in training camp for starter? At least it would be entertaining.
  23. [CRA made this point before me.] Otah’s comparison should be to Horn. A good to very good player that can’t stay on the field…
  24. This is a multi year rebuild; can’t fix it all in one year. Addressing the OP’s immediate question… 1. WR that can get separation. No slots, please. 2. LT 3. C/G Assumptions: BC gets first shot at LT next year. Ickey is moved inside and competes against Zavala, Mays, others for a starting spot at LG. C/G pick backs up Bozeman and Corbett. LT pick backs up BC and Moton. Go run heavy. Re-sign Foreman, admitting our mistake in letting him walk. Bryce gets one more year to demonstrate that he is or is not capable of being an NFL starter. If Bryce disappoints in 2024, we draft higher in 2025 and pick Bryce’s replacement. 2024 is going to be butt ugly, no matter what we do. Might as well sort out our WR and O line issues in 2024, setting up Bryce or his 2025 replacement for more success.
