  1. Canes lead 2-1 at the end of one. Jaaska puts one away on the breakaway just before time expired.
  2. Got a tough one tonight followed by three very winnable games to close out the season. Would love to get a point tonight and then go on a run. Fourth is still in play if we can get 10 out of these last 12 points.
  3. Canes pick up right where they left off last night. 1-0 just a few minutes in courtesy of Jackson Blake; assisted by Jaaska and Fensore.
  4. Sometimes it’s just your day, everything going right for the Heels to the point that they are picking up first downs on blocked punts now.
  5. Mark Williams hurt again… As for the trade I like it better for the TWolves because I think Naz Reid is ready to break out for them and Randle still provides them with the ability to stretch the floor, he’s just a smaller guy than KAT. Also great business by the Hornets, the new GM is doing a great job of facilitating trades and picking up assets like Josh Green and draft picks in the process.
  6. For sure but it’s definitely nice to see some new things like a potential Burnsie net front on the PP, more effort to enter the zone rather than dump and chase all the time, guys being willing to get to the middle of the ice, etc. It was nice to see the Canes win a game 8-2 that they should win 8-2.
  7. Only Orlov, Gunler, and Martinook failed to record a point tonight. I’ll also say that I think the number one goalie spot is Koochie’s to lose. Andersen is starting to wear down.
  8. Canes taking out the young kitties Now 8-2 with a goal from Roslovic assisted by Kotkaniemi and Walker followed by a goal from Carrier assisted by Jaccob Slavin and Burns and finally a goal by Svechnikov assisted by Gostisbehere.
  9. 5-0 Staal from Carrier and Chatfield
  10. Goal number four courtesy of a tip in by Jarvis off a Walker shot, Aho also gets a helper.
  11. Canes starting to pull away. First a nifty move from Jarvis with assists from Aho and Chatty then a blast from Walker on the PP with helpers from Burns and Suzuki.
  12. Canes up 1-0 at the end of one. They are really making an effort to get the puck in front of the net which is refreshing.
  13. Young Josiah Slavin gets us going from Ghost and Necas.
  14. Eh it probably just doesn’t mean as much to App this year. They don’t have a shot at the CFP and Liberty does with their easy schedule but they need that 12th game.
  15. Central Florida here, just got some wind around 65 mph and some rain. Nothing crazy. Tampa just to the west of us got it good though.
  16. Interested to see Robinson tonight, from his highlights he looks like a speed guy that loves the front of the net. He could replace what Noesen brought to the team. Also interested to see if Gagner or Grimaldi force Rod to keep one of them.
  17. Interesting that three of our new guys are on that list: Rosy, Carrier, and Robinson.
  18. My bet is also on Stillman, Morrow needs games. Sitting in the press box won’t do him any good so start him in Chicago.
  19. Looks like Sam Gagner is signing a PTO with the Canes. There’s also a rumor going around that PNC Arena will be renamed to the Lenovo Center as early as tomorrow.
  20. Can he play QB? It’s the new “can he play LT.”
  21. I’m actually not worried about the defense. Pesce was declining and Ghost and Walker are perfect fits for what we are trying to do. I will miss Skjei. The forwards are the big question mark. Prior to the trade deadline we lost 52 goals between Turbo, Noesen, and Bunts. In hindsight I’d wish we never made the trade because we could really use Bunts this year. Those 52 goals prior to the TDL were replaced with 15 goals by Roslovic and Carrier. As of right now I see us as a wild card team at best due to our forward group. I’ll change my mind if Roslovic turns into a 20 goal guy and Carrier into a 15 goal guy. Realistically we’d need 15 goals out of one of the rookies (Nadeau, FUS, Blake) as well.
