4:00PM can’t get here fast enough because the Panthers are ass.
-
Let’s do it again on Monday!

Fun fact, Freddie Andersen is dating Team USA’s women’s hockey superstar, Hillary Knight.

Forget what I said about Pesce, I’m an idiot.

Not sure I like Pesce on the PP, I’d like to see Bear get a look there.
It’s also time to give Jarvis a look, fourth line has gotten a bit stagnant. Even if he starts there and only gets a few minutes he could provide a spark.

We have to give up more 5 on 3’s than any other team, need to get one back here.

Did they flip flop TDA and Bear?

I’ll be the first to admit that I was not a fan of signing Andersen and even though it’s still early he may end up being the perfect goalie for us.
He’s very calm and he seems to start games on time. He’s only allowed one first period goal through four games and for a team that gets better as the game goes on like us… I think that’s a recipe for success.

In our system I think TDA Is an upgrade tbh.
He definitely moves the puck well, the power play isn’t as stagnant anymore.

Andersen held it down until we woke up.
Another point for TDA.. that’s 4 points in 4 games.
Whether the Canes brass wants to admit it or not, he was brought in to try and provide some of the offense that we lost when Hamilton bolted… so far, so good.
TDA - 0 goals, 4 assists, 4 points, +3
Hamilton - 1 goal, 0 assists, 1 point, +1

We seem to have woken up now.
On another note, I hate the high sticking rule when it comes to goals.

I’m not sure we deserve to be in the lead right now, need to clean it up in our own zone… Andersen off to another solid start.

There should be two options and one should be the Canes feed, that’s how I’m watching.

Bean is a DL1 for them? Wow. He was barely cracking DL3 for us last season. He’s either second or third in TOI for them defensively. Better take advantage of the insider knowledge on him.
Also going Korpisalo over Merzlikins is interesting.
Playing his offside too, I’d like to get Necas out there against him.

did i not read somewhere that we dont have his rights?
You are correct, but the Swarm drafted him in the G-League draft.
He’s not technically affiliated with the Hornets as he will only be signing a contract with the Swarm but this keeps him close to the organization and potentially allows him to sign a two-way deal next year or if he completely balls, sign a contract to be a part of the active roster.

Due to a procedural issue, LiAngelo actually had to be drafted… looks like it all worked out anyway.

Hopefully this does NOT mean Freddie won't play against his old team on Monday.
Tough to say but I suspect that Freddie plays against Toronto and Raanta gets Boston.
While Freddie does have a winning record against Boston, he’s lost to them more than any other team he’s played. To my knowledge, Raanta has never faced Boston.

We get to see our old pal Jake Bean tonight along with former long time Hurricanes prospect, Gregory Hoffman.
On our end, it appears Rod is going to ride this lineup until they lose (or someone gets injured).
Columbus is likely to role with:
Patrik Laine - Boone Jenner - Jakub Voracek
Gustav Nyquist - Cole Sillinger - Oliver Bjorkstrand
Alexandre Texier - Jack Roslovic - Yegor Chinakhov
Eric Robinson - Sean Kuraly - Gregory Hoffman
Zach Werenski - Jake Bean
Vladislav Gavrikov - Adam Boqvist
Scott Harrington - Andrew Peeke
Joonas Korpisalo
Elvis Merzlikins
Columbus is off to a strong start but they’ll be without Max Domi tonight who has been placed on IR. They always play tough in their own barn so this should be a good matchup. We need keep eyes on Bjorkstrand who is off to a great start and stay out of the box so we limit Laine’s opportunities.
Overall, Columbus doesn’t generate a ton of high danger scoring chances and they are 31st in the league in shots per game. If we get the Freddie we’ve been seeing for the past few games then we should be able to come away with a win.

Sara is great, we’re lucky to have her.

The big thing for the Hornets is that we have six guys who can put up 20+ points in a game (Ball, Rozier, Hayward, Oubre, Bridges, Washington). If we have at least three of those guys going then we’ll be in every game.

Going to be a big test against Brooklyn.

I trust the game plan against these big ass tired Cavs dudes. They tried to play fast early and got gassed quick
Have to imagine three 7 footers trying to keep with our pace of play isn’t a recipe for success.

If they keep this up we’ll get to see Bouknight and Kai after all.

Cody does have sneaky hops.

Looks like no Rozier again, would love to see Bouknight get some run with the second team. We may need some extra scoring today.
