Well Raanta is gonna be out for a while…
Alex Lyon will be on the next flight to Florida.
-
Nice pass by Slavin.
-
Only reason I have this thing still on is to hopefully watch Jarvis get another point.
-
This game is over, putting in Raanta is more about not leaving Andersen out to dry and sending a message to the rest of the team that they played poorly enough to get their goalie chased.
-
There’s no sense in leaving your starting goalie in that you expect to play 60 games to get blitzed. Raanta should have been in after the third to at least send a message to the rest of the team that your play got your goalie ran off.
And my God get Jarvis up on line one with the Finns.

Wasn't able to watch the first period. Are these penalties legit or soft calls?
The two trips were poo, TDA’s hook was a hook, they never showed Lorentz’s hook.
-
This team doesn’t give a poo. How have you not ran someone yet.
-
fuging bring Raanta in my God.
-
fug it.
Go to Raanta.. don’t want Freddie to get blitzed because the refs are poo.
-
Penalties occur in 80% of every shift it’s just about whether the refs want to make the call.
The calls have effectively taken the Canes off their game. Wouldn’t be surprised if this one gets out of hand because our guys are going to be too worried about getting called for a penalty.
-
Refs aren’t going to let us play… this is stupid.
-
Really wish they’d stick Jarvis up there with the Finns.
-
Good Lord, already getting jobbed early.
Can’t let a southern team make history.
Perfect storm for the NHL… let one southern team keep the other from making history.

Ya, the other option is to put Cole with Skjei though. I think it’s more of a speed thing.
I’d have dropped Bear down to play with Skjei and put TDA with Slavin.
Slavin can make up for TDA’s mistakes and Bear is somewhat of a responsible d-man.
Only downside is that TDA would then be on the ice with Barkov.
(Edit: I stand corrected, I guess he’s not playing per Black Panther.)

Dont love Skjei and TDA together, but they are familiar with each other from NY so who knows. Not sure if they ever played on a line together.
I don’t like that pairing either. I feel like they are going to be good for at least one brain fart… hopefully Freddie is prepared.

I really don’t know much about Brendan Smith but he was the one that went right after Tom Wilson in the infamous Caps/Rangers game that was mired by tons of fights.
Smith was sticking up for Panarin and Buchnevich who were both attacked by Wilson with some pretty horrible cheap shots in a prior game.
(Edit: Apparently the video is so bad that there’s an age restriction on it. )

So I’m guessing we get knight tonight? Haven’t checked moneypuck yet.
Yep, it’s Knight in net and Gudas is back. Heads need to be on a swivel tonight.

Just a heads up, it’s a 6:00PM puck drop as the Canes go for history tonight.
Projected Lines:
Marty - Fishy - Turbo
Svech - Young Tro - Nachos
KK - Jordo - Quickie
Stevie - Step - Jarvy
Slavo - Bearsy
Brady - TDA
Smitty - Cole
Freddie
Finnish Father
Injured: Nino, Pesce
Stats of Note: Aho has 21 points in 20 games against Florida; Necas has 12 points in 11 games against Florida.
Matchup to Watch: Skjei and TDA vs. Huberdeau - Reinhart - Tippett. Skjei and TDA really need to buckle down tonight.
Florida Injuries: Sam Bennett, Joe Thornton, Sergei Bobrovsky

Never mind, that’s all for me. Everyone enjoy your night.

I’ll give it until half time, if we don’t have this thing within 10 then that’s all for me.

There is absolutely no reason to not play Bouknight and Jones. We are dead last in points allowed per game so arguing that they’d be a defensive liability is BS. This whole team is a defensive liability.

This team cannot start games on times and is getting knocked back down to earth pretty darn quick.

FWIW, stylistically, Thor was drawing comparisons to Giannas and KD tonight. Obviously it’s the G-League and defense is pretty much non-existent… nonetheless, to drop 34 points in your first professional basketball game at 19 years old is impressive.
In comparison, Jalen Green’s career high for the G-League Ignite was 30 points and Jonathan Kuminga’s was 24… Thor topped both of those marks in his first game.
Green is currently averaging 14.8 points per game, Kuminga is not seeing much of the floor.

Kind of surprised the Canes haven’t called anyone up with the injures to both Pesce and Nino.
Defensively, Joey Keane, Max Lajoie, and Jalen Chatfield have had decent starts for the Wolves. Offensively, C.J. Smith has been fantastic. Maybe the Canes are just waiting they truly need the extra body. However, if someone were to get hurt tomorrow they’d need to hustle someone down to Florida from Chicago rather quickly.
It’ll also be interesting to see what the pairs are defensively.
Personally,
I’d role with:
Slavin - TDA
Skjei - Bear
Cole - Smith
But we shall see..

The main issue is that players are responsible for there whereabouts. Pick your fuging head and skate around him…
This poo happens all the time but for some reason it’s always our goalies who get ran.
