Another Thing that Bugged Me About Rhule (Miller>Scott)
MillionDollarCam replied to Castavar's topic in Carolina Panthers
That was a flat out shitty decision… Here’s a live look at John Miller playing guard… more at 11. -
It’s literally the greatest move… you don’t end up wasting money on two shitty QB’s and you either get to see what Cam has left in the tank or you roll with Kyle Allen and Will Grier and likely end up with Trevor Lawrence. At the end of the day we know Cam wouldn’t have held out because he’s a competitor so we’d have had our answer last year that Cam can still be our QB rather than chasing after QB’s that aren’t even has-been’s they are never-was’s… And Rhule takes the blame because he’s running the show… he literally said the contracts go through him… that’s clear as day. Example A: “I think in terms of on the contract, a lot of those things probably rest with me,” Rhule said. I’ll be one of the few as well that states that Hurney had some fault in it as well but he’s no longer here so… if Rhule was truly a stand up guy and truly believed he could make chicken salad out of chicken poo, why didn’t he fight for Cam… all he had to say was “Hey Marty, give me shot with this guy”. Let’s be real, Rhule wanted to ride with his own guy and it’s gotten him nowhere.
-
Okay I’ll respond to this because the answer is rather easy… You don’t extend him… If you truly don’t think he’s good enough to be the franchise QB you let him play out the final year of his contract, get a high draft pick, and replace him… not sign fugging Teddy Bridgewater and then trade for Sam Darnold. If he plays well then you re-sign him, if he doesn’t then congrats, your new franchise QB is Mac Jones… simple as that. And if Cam chooses to hold out then he’s the one that comes under fire for it and you trot out Kyle Allen and Will Grier… and like magic… you still get your high draft pick. Hell, you might even get Trevor Lawrence with as bad as those two are.
-
It certainly could take longer than a year and a half… hell the Browns still don’t have a QB… but we’re back to the issue that it shouldn’t have taken a year because Cam was already on the roster. I’m not in the organization and I have no ties to the organization but I find it hard to believe Tepper or Hurney had anything to do with Cam’s departure. It wasn’t Tepper who called Cam, it wasn’t Fitt… it was Rhule. That speaks volumes in my opinion. That’s all for me tonight folks, enjoyed the football conversation. Always nice to talk ball with civilized people. Until next time.
-
That one position has lost and won more football games than both you and I can count. For me, it’s not about finding the QB, it’s about not letting the QB that came back a chance to start with. If Rhule gives Cam a chance we aren’t having this conversation.

Bad matchup for sure… But I did suggest a change unless you glossed over it. McLaurin plays the least amount if his snaps in the slot… that’s where you move Jackson. Okay, so what happens when they move McLaurin to the slot.. at that point you have linebacker help and worse case scenario you are giving up 5-10 yard completions rather than 20+ yard completions. You can also rotate him with Bouye so that Jackson isn’t completely out of the game plan but he also isn’t hurting you every play. It’s certainly better than being flat out benched. Onnnnn the other hand… If WFT doesn’t move McLaurin to the slot then you play Gilmore on him and at that point you can play man across the board and shade the safety to McLaurin’s side to deal with his speed. It’s not rocket science… In fact, Rhule should pop open a Webster’s, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

That’s cause ol’ faithful is back… what happens if he isn’t resigned next year or even worse, what happens if he is BUT the Panthers don’t make the playoffs. Also, let’s not kid ourselves. Tepper isn’t a fool, Cam is our best option but he also keeps the stadium full. -
To me it’s not about the coaching… it’s the wasting of a year and a half to find out that the answer was “truly on the roster”. I think he gets another year but it’s playoffs or bust next year.
-
I personally don’t think zone was the answer. There’s no reason to punish the rest of your defense because one guy is shitting his britches. McLaurin is known to be an outside guy, he can play in the slot but just last year he stated that he was learning the position. I’d take my chances on the fact that they don’t move him inside and if they do at least the deep threat is off the board and you have linebacker help. If they keep him on the outside then you have Gilmore there to play press man.

10 carries for the best RB in football
MillionDollarCam replied to KillaCamNewton's topic in Carolina Panthers
This… Brady called a stinker but it wasn’t due to not feeding CMC. This was the quintessential Rivera game where the WFT had 10 more minutes of possession than us and we were playing from behind most of the second half. Couple that in with the fact that we only ran 49 plays on offense and McCaffrey touched the ball on 35% of those plays… it’s easy to see that this wasn’t a usage issue for CMC. -

Five year rebuild won’t sound so exciting to Tepper once the stadium looks like it did in the Clausen days. Wether you have a billion dollars or $100, no one likes losing money. -
It’s not Cam I’m worried about, it’s the fact that the Vikings, 49ers, and Eagles are all ahead of us with much easier schedules.
-
I get what you are saying and to a point you are right. Most coaches wouldn’t yank their CB1, but with the way he was playing you certainly have to try and mask his deficiencies… for example, move him to the slot. If you are loyal to a T then you’ll find yourself unemployed very quickly in professional sports. Unfortunately for Rhule, he hasn’t figured out how to walk the line. Whether it’s straight up lying about “how excited” he was to work with Cam or his inability to find a spot on the field for Jackson (other than opposite of McLaurin), he still has a lot to learn about how to handle tough situations.

It’s quite an interesting trend and you’re right, it’s across the board. Essentially you have Kirby Smart who has his guys ready to play every game and then every other game is a pick me. -

Quite possible, I think Rhule has realized college is a little bit easier to manage. -
I don’t agree with it but they are going to give Rhule the Kingsbury treatment. He’ll manage to get to 8-9 this year and next year will be put up or shut up. You have to wonder where we’d be in the “Tepper plan” if we didn’t play ring-around-the-rosie in the fugging QB room for a year and a half and didn’t give the entire estate to a coach with exactly one year of NFL experience.

Just imagine how he’d show up to a Panthers practice.. it would probably look like a Hugh Freeze recruiting trip. -

Next question should be his favorite answer. -
That most of them are on Reddit or other message boards(HFBoards). There’s a few of us that are loyal to the Canes board… maybe one day we’ll have more people interested. I can certainly see why you wouldn’t be interested if you haven’t seen a live game. I feel like that’s the first step for many folks. It’s not as easy of a watch as football or basketball. Any who, I’ll pull for all of NC’s pro teams but I understand some people just don’t like certain sports… kin to how I think singing shows are foolish.

The way he handled his Temple and Baylor departures along with the Cam situation. For starters, here was an interview he did right before he left for Baylor. Rhule - “This is really, really hard. People start coming to your door and say hey, ‘I got four million dollars.’ But you know what, I’d rather coach Temple’s kids. I love these kids. I’d rather coach here and coach Temple’s kids then just sell my soul for four million dollars. That is the truth and that’s as honest and open as I can be with you guys.” Then we get into the Baylor situation where players stated that Rhule told them that he would inform them if he was going to leave… they found out through the media. Then we all know how “excited” he was to work with Cam and how well that went. Guy should have to pass a lie detector test to enter the facility. -
By no one you mean you? Seems like there are plenty of other people that enjoy the success of their states teams regardless of the sport.

Well those guys are the cream of the crop right there, they even fit the bill down to their appearance. I believe Rhule is more of a pathological liar… but who knows. -
Probably not… but the coach can probably one of the plethora of corners we’ve traded for, drafted, or signed and see if they fare any better. Orrrrr… on obvious running downs role with Fox and YGM, or occasionally move Burns to a standing OLB position… Just some thoughts… If Rhule doesn’t want to make any changes he can join me up in the nosebleeds, we can enjoy some beers together and both be fans while someone else coaches the team.

That’s alright, when your brain evolves just realize that the Carolina’s have other sports teams that are solid.
