I’m not a fan of Pickett either but I can understand to a point why some people are. Whoever drafts him is essentially hoping that he had a Joe Burrow glow up. The issue is that Burrow beat about 7 nationally ranked teams and set all sorts of records on the way to a National Championship. Pickett on the other hand beat up on a poor ACC. I do like Howell. For me it all comes back to him being able to put everything together. His first two years he was one of the top passers of the football while not having much of a presence in the run game. This past year he struggled throwing the ball a bit but he was phenomenal on the ground. Can he put two and two together and become a Russell Wilsonesque QB? The big question for Howell is can he be a franchise QB. A franchise QB might have been able to get a little more out of UNC last year. I get that he lost a ton of production but if he’s drafted high he isn’t going to be in a field of sunshine and daisy’s… it’ll be a pit of hellfire and brimstone. If we’re looking at a QB, I’d probably trade down between 12-15 and take Howell.

For us in particular I don’t think either is a good option. Both Howell and Pickett seem like better fits. Howell has shown that he can do it all, now he just needs to do it all at one time. Pickett on the other hand could be a late boomer or he could have taken advantage of being the most experienced player in the ACC. Regardless, both can start right away. I just don’t think either is going to be a top 10 QB at anytime in this league. Willis and Strong probably both need to sit for different reasons. Also, Strong very well could have a great career. Eli Manning did and he’s as unathletic as they come. You just have to wonder about Strong’s ability to process a defense with his lack of athleticism to by him time. The game will move much quicker in the NFL than it does in the Mountain West. I think a good example is watching his tape against Kansas State. He had a decent game but the game moved much quicker for him and he doesn’t have the athleticism to make up for it. Then you watch Willis play Virginia Tech and you see that he’s raw and erratic but he’s so athletic that he can make up for it even playing at a high level. Pro’s and cons to both if those guys but both need to sit.

Just don’t see it with Strong. The Nevada offense was perfect for him and he took full advantage. His ability to go through his reads at a much faster pace with no mobility whatsoever is going to be a huge question mark. If you watch majority of Strong’s games you’ll see him go with his first read because: 1. Nevada has a good offensive scheme that is tailored to the short passing game or one on one deep shots on the outside. 2. Strong has a great arm and can make every throw. 3. The level of competition was poor and many times Strong’s first read was open. Strong was sacked 35 times this past year which puts him in the bottom fourth of the NCAA in sacks. Some of that is due to Nevada’s offensive line which is in the middle of pack in the Mountain West, but a lot of times it’s because Strong is holding on to the ball too long when his first quick route isn’t available. Because his mobility is limited it puts him at a pretty big disadvantage. If you want to see what Strong will look like in the NFL then just watch Ben Roethlisberger from this past year. Strong will make some great throws but his athleticism and inability to come off his first read as soon as it’s not there will be a hinderance in the NFL where you only have three seconds to throw the football. You can put on Josh Allen’s college tape and just see the difference in how a top tier QB processes his reads and uses his legs to extend plays so that he can go through all of his reads. If you have to take a QB this year then you take Howell because over the past three years he’s shown he can do everything. It’s more about putting it all together at one time. If you have the luxury of taking a QB and letting him sit (teams like Washington, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Miami, Denver, and Detroit) then you take a risk on Willis because he is the true boom or bust QB in the class.

Charlotte FC Transfer Rumors
MillionDollarCam replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Football Club
Charlotte FC being linked to Paul Arriola. I don’t particularly like this… Arriola has been a solid MLS player but at this point he is what he is… a solid winger that you can build around but he needs to be surrounded by really good players. There’s absolutely no reason to give up a record amount of GAM for him. -
The big red flag with Strong is that he stares down his receivers and holds on to the ball way too long for not being a mobile QB. He reminds me a lot of Jared Goff. Out of all the top QB’s in the draft, he’s probably played the overall weakest schedule so it’ll be interesting to see how he does in the senior bowl.

What is Joe Burrow’s superior trait to Kenny Pickett?
MillionDollarCam replied to FuFuLamePoo's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Think a lot of concerns stem from the level of competition. Burrow put up ridiculous numbers while beating #2 Clemson, #4 Georgia, #6 Florida, #7 Oklahoma, #8 Alabama, #14 Auburn, and #25 Texas while going 15-0 and winning a National Championship… Pickett beat up on a horrible ACC… -
Cardinal fans have to be getting deja vu from the last time they were in the playoffs… a 49-15 ass whooping at the hands of Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly… good times.

Charlotte FC Signs GK Adrián Zendejas
MillionDollarCam replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Football Club
Certainly Kahlina, you don’t often see MLS teams use international slots on goalkeepers. He also has Champions League and Europa League experience. Sisniega will probably be the backup followed by Zendejas. I expect Marks to get loaned out to a USL club. -

That’s actually not correct. He was the passing game coordinator and his main responsibility was talking to Burrow after each series and discussing what both of them saw on the field. The only time Brady called plays was in empty packages.

What a shitty loss.. this is what separates us from being a top 5 seed and a 8 seed.
-
Well… that’s gonna do it.
-
Plumlee comes in and the Hornets cut it to 4… he’s a +10 to lead the Hornets.
-
This is going to be a horrible loss..
-
Believe it or not, the Hornets have played the best when Plumlee is in the game. I’d look at putting him back in the game.
-
Win the quarter, win the game.
-
Figure out how to play some defense and we’ll win this game by 10+… don’t and we might lose.
-
Took a few minutes but we do appear to care about winning this game.

Charlotte FC Transfer Rumors
MillionDollarCam replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Football Club
Christian Ortiz (LW/AM) and Adrian Zendejas (GK) are rumored to be joining the club. -
Soccer, unlike most sports has a lot of leaked rumors and as we saw with the whole Riley McGree debacle from where he was all but sold to Celtic FC before Middlesbrough stepped in, some rumors come true… and some don’t. Here’s a safe space to post Charlotte FC transfer rumors until they are confirmed by the club.

The Magic are severely short staffed… no Bamba, Carter, Fultz, MCW, Isaac, or Moore. No reason not to win this game by double digits.
