  1. You are correct, but the Swarm drafted him in the G-League draft. He’s not technically affiliated with the Hornets as he will only be signing a contract with the Swarm but this keeps him close to the organization and potentially allows him to sign a two-way deal next year or if he completely balls, sign a contract to be a part of the active roster.
  2. Due to a procedural issue, LiAngelo actually had to be drafted… looks like it all worked out anyway.
  3. Tough to say but I suspect that Freddie plays against Toronto and Raanta gets Boston. While Freddie does have a winning record against Boston, he’s lost to them more than any other team he’s played. To my knowledge, Raanta has never faced Boston.
  4. We get to see our old pal Jake Bean tonight along with former long time Hurricanes prospect, Gregory Hoffman. On our end, it appears Rod is going to ride this lineup until they lose (or someone gets injured). Columbus is likely to role with: Patrik Laine - Boone Jenner - Jakub Voracek Gustav Nyquist - Cole Sillinger - Oliver Bjorkstrand Alexandre Texier - Jack Roslovic - Yegor Chinakhov Eric Robinson - Sean Kuraly - Gregory Hoffman Zach Werenski - Jake Bean Vladislav Gavrikov - Adam Boqvist Scott Harrington - Andrew Peeke Joonas Korpisalo Elvis Merzlikins Columbus is off to a strong start but they’ll be without Max Domi tonight who has been placed on IR. They always play tough in their own barn so this should be a good matchup. We need keep eyes on Bjorkstrand who is off to a great start and stay out of the box so we limit Laine’s opportunities. Overall, Columbus doesn’t generate a ton of high danger scoring chances and they are 31st in the league in shots per game. If we get the Freddie we’ve been seeing for the past few games then we should be able to come away with a win.
  5. The big thing for the Hornets is that we have six guys who can put up 20+ points in a game (Ball, Rozier, Hayward, Oubre, Bridges, Washington). If we have at least three of those guys going then we’ll be in every game.
  6. Have to imagine three 7 footers trying to keep with our pace of play isn’t a recipe for success.
  7. If they keep this up we’ll get to see Bouknight and Kai after all.
  8. 100%, Martin is going to have to piss him off for Bouknight to get in the game.
  9. Need LaMelo and Bridges to take over in the fourth.
  10. The fact that our big man leads the team in turnovers is not great, may want to stop handling the ball so much.
  11. Oubre keeping us in this one on another note, not impressed with the officiating at all.
  12. It boggles my mind why we wait to play defense until we are down 20 points.
  13. LaMelo is going to keep us in a lot of games this year.
  14. P.J. saved us last game but overall he’s struggling to start the year. Oubre keeping us in it with a quick 10 off the bench… we also need to stop giving up 30+ point quarters.
  15. Kelly Oubre is hotttt… 8 points in 4 minutes.
  16. Was expecting Valentine to back up Rubio not Pangos, Ish Smith needs to take advantage of that matchup.
  17. Slow start for the defense again, need to run these guys off the three point line.
  18. Cavs going with… No Darius Garland for the Cavs tonight so Rubio will start, their bench consists of Cedi Osman, Isaac Okoro and Kevin Love. I suspect one of Denzel Valentine or Dylan Windler will fill in behind Rubio and Sexton.
  19. Terry is back… let’s get it! If last game is any indication, the bench will consist of Ish Smith, Cody Martin, Kelly Oubre, Jalen McDaniels, and P.J. Washington.
  20. Slow start, was to be expected after that lengthy break.
