Won’t happen because while it’s a weak QB draft it’s a strong OT draft at the top and a high end EDGE in James Pearce will also be available. A WR hasn’t went first overall since the 90’s when Keyshawn went first.

Believe it or not some scouts want him more as a CB because of his size. There simply aren’t guys his size that move the way he does at the corner position. His size and speed at the wide receiver position is uncommon but not as uncommon - see Garrett Wilson. He may not be as good of a corner as he is a WR but I know there’s a few NFL teams out there that would certainly like to try him there because there simply aren’t lockdown 6-1, 185 lb., 4.3 40 corners in the NFL that move the way he does.
-
Unfortunately that won’t happen because scouts can’t make up their mind on where to play him and he won’t play both ways to the extent he does at the college level. The eye test says he should be a receiver but all of the metrics say he should be a corner. It’s an interesting situation.

Think people might be sleeping on USC tonight. Miller Moss looked really good against Louisville in the Holiday Bowl last year and he has some unproven but highly touted receivers to throw the ball to in Branch, Robinson, and Lemon. USC’s issue has always been defense and they handed the reigns over to Anthony Lynn’s son, D’Anton, who completely turned around UCLA’s defense before jumping ship to USC.

Dillon Gabriel’s stat line and the score of that game have me scratching my head in confusion.

Saw this! Man that’s crazy! Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

I’ve been a part of it once when I was a graduate assistant for an FCS school (though technically the terminology was quality control assistant because I don’t believe FCS schools were allowed to have graduate assistants until a new NCAA bylaw in 2018) and we were playing a NCAA D2 team. I’ve never seen it at the FBS level though. You are correct that both coaches have to agree to it. What’s more common is a running clock.

Funny part about it is Alabama A&M leads the TOP 33-11. Auburn has 66 points in 11 minutes.

South Carolina is starting a 3* true freshman at QB… That program is dead.
-
ODU hanging tough with Little Carolina and Georgia Southern is up on Boise State which would shake up the G5 rankings for the CFP in week one. Boise State is currently favored to be the G5 representative followed by Liberty and Memphis.

Night Night Dabo

As a UNC fan, I’m taking credit for Clemson’s demise. The 2022 ACC Championship convinced Dabo that Klubnik was actually good when in fact he’s a mediocre ACC QB.
-
Would have been funny because then Ewers, Arch, Card (Purdue), and Murphy (Duke) would have all been starting. Texas loves to over recruit their QB’s.
-
Wonder if we’ll get to see Arch today. Texas are huge favorites, maybe he’ll get some mop up duty.

-13.5 is back within reach.

Finally UGA is stretching it out, and that’s PI.

Nice pass by Beck, was afraid 11 wasn’t about to turn around.
-
That’s fuging insane lol. Someone help that kid get a job lol.

Holy poo… am I the only one that didn’t know Tyler Shough was the QB of Louisville now in his sixth season of college football? I remember when people were really high on him coming out of HS.
-
Slightly below, average was 8.8. Nix was all the way down at 7.0 which was a knock on him. People like Beck because he was top 5 in off-target rate and first in average time to throw. You are correct that he’s just doing what he’s asked but I really prefer a QB that can stretch the field which is why I liked Stroud and while I really like Jayden Daniels.
-
I actually like Ward lol, I actually thought he was older than he is. Hopefully he has a good season.
-
That’s yards per attempt not air yardage. Yards per attempt includes YAC, air yardage doesn’t. Beck’s air yardage per attempt was 8.0 yards per attempt which was below the national average.
-
Daniels had showed a unique skill set though to go along with a decent senior season. His final year at LSU he just put it all together. I don’t really see a QB like him in this draft other than Sanders. The knock on Penix was always his age and injuries, his numbers were always good. Even at Indiana. He was over drafted though. McCarthy I don’t really have a feel on. I’d have liked to seen him in an offense that challenged the QB more. He can make the throws but Harbaugh made the offense simple for him.
-
Really don’t like this upcoming draft for QB’s, hopefully Bryce works out. A couple G5’s to watch are Joey Aguilar from App State and Kaidon Salter from Liberty. Wish both transferred so it would be easier to evaluate them.

He’s a game manager, nothing wrong with that at the college level; but you have to be able to do more in the NFL.
