Changes to the Panthers behind the scenes staff
gofightwin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh no! "What is going on over there?!?" Some of the 682 employees are leaving! I have had more turnover at my office of 100 this spring. -
CJ Stroud: I’m a football player, not a test taker
gofightwin replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
And sometimes the system makes it easier. The guy has been playing with the best WR core we might have ever seen. He will have played with 3 first round WR in their prime (Olave, Harrison, Egbuka). -
Sure he will be ready for camp but how much weight training is he going to miss? We needed him to continue to put on some muscle weight this offseason but now he will be off his foot for months, and presumably has been off it for some time. Ugh.

This is why Bryce Young undoubtedly is QB1
gofightwin replied to Ivory Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol I never made a Bryce Young Philly Brown analogy. I was just pointing out your dumb post. -

LOL WUT? McCaffery is like 20lbs of muscle heavier than Philly Brown ever was. McCaffery is built like a body builder with tree trunks for legs. I doubt Brown ever tipped the scales > 185. At the combine CMC was 202, Brown 178. -

What makes his mental game better than Stroud? The OSU coaches have said he is one of the best they have ever coached in terms of intelligence. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2022/08/132400/cj-strouds-football-intelligence-mastery-of-ohio-state-offense-impressing-coaches -

Jalen Carter may be dropping after this
gofightwin replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Where is stated that he was tested? Reports I have read says "didn't appear to be drinking" by....Athens police. You don't think the cops knew who he was? Unless they took him to the hospital for a BA or toxicology test, I call BS on this one. He just got to go home after he admitted that he lied to the cops and two people were dead. -
If you hate your boss (but like your job) and feel the only way to be happy is to "quit", you are still going scorched earth when you leave even if it is "your" decision. Pretty sure this applies here. He might have asked for a release but he didn't want to.

Yes but...how hard would it be to find someone younger and way cheaper to fill the same spot? I don't think it would take that much. He led the team in tackles. Big whoop. You could bring in a 2nd rounder and they would probably too. To make that much money, you *should* be a difference maker. I just don't see it. I don't see him as a leader of the defense. I don't see him changing games. Is he bad, heck no. Is he great? Heck no. He is the 20th highest paid LB. Is he anywhere near a top 20 LB? No. 1/2 sack. No Int. No FF. 8 TFL. in 2022 Those rank him dead bottom. He is paid like a difference maker. He had like no difference making plays this year.

Tepper bought Fox’s house so they do have a connection
-
I will give you that. But maybe it’s time to change the logic to something a “normal” business would do. I dunno.
-
Sure it does. You bring in XYZ coach candidate and he says I would like coach xx to be my DC. And then another candidate says the same thing about the same guy. Why not bring in these guys and hear what they are about and see if you think that DC and offensive coach combo works. if you are getting a rookie offensive coach you better be sure they get the right DC.

Could anything make you quit the team?
gofightwin replied to Brooklyn 3.0's topic in Carolina Panthers
Me moving or team moving. If I retire in AZ, I'm probably not getting whatever service NFL ticket is on and would probably just follow the Cardinals or just watch whatever AFC game is on and read about the Panthers. If the team moved away, I might still read about them for a bit, but just watch whatever games the network decides to give me. I have adopted new NFL and NCAA teams since I moved away from PA 25yrs ago. It's not that hard. -
We still do HR interviews but we are a small-ish company. It isn't a "if you don't impress HR, you don't get to interview with the next", but they are in the group that does an interview with everybody if they make it to the actual interview phase. Then everyone collaborates and hires.
-
You ever interview with HR? You think they know one single thing about an IT job they interview for? No. They are just an added layer to help flush our personality traits of how might be a good fit with that interviewees boss, who happens to be her husband. Who gives AF if she does an interview…she isn't asking Xs and Os questions.

Have you ever been to the UK? If they get one 90 degree day in the summer the city melts down. A typical summer day there is mid 70’s for a high. They have very different grass and climate over there. What they grow there will not grow here outside of a few places like San Fran or Seattle.
-
Good luck getting Jerry Jones, Blank and Kronke to tear out a giant holes in their new stadiums so they can roll out a field into his parking lot for sun. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle after these domes were built. You can’t roll in a grass field that doesn’t get sun. It won’t grow. And newly sodded fields are worse as the roots haven’t bonded together yet to make a solid surface.
-
The hybrid type of grass is a cool season grass which grows well in the UK/Europe but not in the south. They haven’t done it with Bermuda which is more than half the grass surfaces.

Scott Fowler Observer column on coaching hire
gofightwin replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fowler just likes to stir the pot so people read/click his "opinion" pieces. He likes to state his opinion as fact. "We know already that Wilks would work out." No, what we know is players will play hard for him and they like him. You don't win playoff games by playing tough. You win with game planning and season long preparation. We don't at all if that would "work out". His record as a head coach is 9-19. The one "playoff" game he had was a total dud (but expected). Im not saying I won't be OK if we hire Wilks....but we don't know it will work out. We know he went 6-6, albeit handicapped a bit, with a completely down division (and NFC in general). If we would have played the NFC east instead of the west this year, we would have had a much different record. -
Its one thing to get in, another to be a finalist. His stats are as good or better than the 3 finalist and should be in the conversation.

Jim Harbaugh has convo with David Tepper
gofightwin replied to Daeavorn's topic in Carolina Panthers
The guy won the division twice, went to two NFC championships, and a Super Bowl...in 4 years...with Kaepernick and Alex Smith. That's as much success as the Panthers have accomplished in the past 20 years. But you hate on him because he can't beat OSU...the second best team in country the past decade (besides destroying them this year)?
