Panthers Wide Receiver Depth Chart - OTA Week 2
X-Clown on 1 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Definitely the most excited to see Brown and Funchess on the field in camp and preseason. Funchess looks very fluid when he runs and makes catching look easy. If Brown has really improved as much as it sounds, then he's going to be a massive weapon for us.- 107 replies

In their first 4 years, Cam has about 17k total yards and 115 total TD's. Ryan has about 14.5k total yards and 95 Total TD's. Ryan has had a more complete offense for the majority of his years as well. To me the argument isn't even close. Newton > Ryan.

My personal opinion about Ginn bringing that veteran experience is no, he's does not fill that void. I love the guy and think he's dangerous where ever he is on the field. But in reality, he's still learning how to play WR. He's been in the league for 8 years or so, but he's always been a return man first and a WR project second. Most 30 year WR's have mastered the position enough to teach it to the younger guys, and Ginn certainly has not.
-
Valid point, but honestly I think only DG and RR can answer those questions. How comfortable are they not having a veteran WR on the field during game day? Proehl can't do nearly as much from the sidelines as a vet WR can do in the huddle.

I agree the injuries took its toll, and he gained a spark at the end of the season once he finally started getting healthy. Here's to hoping he returns to 2013 form.

I was under the impression Tolbert had lost some weight this season..........these pics seem to say otherwise. I guess technically looking 1 pound is "some" weight.

If it keeps him from getting hurt, hell I'll do that pose in the stands.

Cotchery is about 90% a lock. He's the only real WR veteran on the team (Ginn doesn't really count in that aspect as he's still learning the position in his own right). It would be down right shocking if Bersin made it over Cotchery.
-
When is the awards ceremony going to be held to present him with his CHPD award?
-
If Bersin makes it, then who doesn't? I think we're only seeing this shift in reps, simply to allow all players a chance to compete. But in the end, I just don't see Bersin fitting into the picture. He's a sure handed possession receiver with limited threat after the catch. Frankly, your team needs one of those guys and we already have that with Cotchery. Speed, explosiveness and YAC is what makes teams deadly in the passing game. We finally have some of that on our roster, and Bersin is none of that.
-
Say goodbye to Wofford, Bersin, because this years camp will be the last time you're there as a Panther.

Question for our resident Seahawk Fan/Mod

Wilson is too ugly to be the face of Orkos Yougurt.....nuff said. -
Or even better, who is going to get over paid more? Wilson or Luck?
-
Well, Jameis has good taste in women....

Escorts are so independent these days. -
I think the only reason we eventually pulled the trigger on him, was because of his ST abilities he brings. I don't think DG will have any problem letting him walk before 53 man cuts, if all he brings is ST and can't contribute as a WR.

Winston's work ethic impressing in OTA's

One of the biggest challenges new rookie QB's face, is how well do they handle adversity when they start losing. Most of these guys have done nothing but win 90% of the time since they were 7 years old. All of the sudden, you've got 20 cameras in your face asking you what happened and why your team has lost 3 in a row. Oddly enough, Winston has probably handled more adversity in the media already, that he may be better prepared for that than any other rookie QB as of recent to enter the league. -
Two receivers really stepped up today.

To be fair, 2 of the DB's were out and if Cam is having a super accurate day....well then I don't envy the DB's that have to try and cover that. -

Let's not forgot that Hill played for the Jets. They were dead last in passing last year. I'd like to think this has more to do with their dysfunctional offense, then it does the caliber of players they had to work with. Hill has had a decent amount of time on the PS to learn the system and our players. I see no reason that he can't return to the form he promised coming out of GT. -
"No debate" these QBs are better than Cam Newton

I agree with this, but I would swap Romo and Big Ben. Ben has the rings and the stone cold playoff record, Romo has the exact opposite but he still puts up numbers during the regular season.
