6'2 is huge for him. Weight looks good too. Ton of concern over his size. I wouldn't have been surprised if he measured under 6 foot like Kyler. That frame means he's got room to bulk up. Never a bad thing

Only 1? Strictly FA? Corner and for me it isn't close.

Sounds like Jets' 2nd pick is open for business...?
SteveSmithTD89 replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh 100% agree. I can see why he costs more in terms of capital. Only said this would be cheaper and if we're gauging it against the reported value of CMC, Burns AND 3 firsts for Watson, id go this route. Just me and my admittedly personal opinion. -
Steelers Cut Starting CB Steven Nelson

Missing out on Jackson, Fuller and Griffen hurt. This move would go a long way in solidifying the defense. If he'd take a similar deal here I'd welcome him into the fold. -

It would 100% be cheaper than the crazy Watson proposals floated around. Looking back there is some precedence for this. 2016 the Eagles moved up from 8 to 2, for a QB who was considered 2nd best in the draft. If they would take a similar offer to what the Eagles and Browns worked out I would pull the trigger personally even though I dont love the idea. Just for the sake of making it easier to visualize I'm taking the exact terms of that deal in 2016 and applying it to present day picks: Panthers get: 2021 1st - 2 overall 2022 4th Jets get: 2021 1st - 8th overall 2021 3rd 2021 4th 2022 1st 2023 2nd -
JJ but thats it. We may have been negotiating beforehand but that deal wasn't officially done till after FA started i think

I was... underwhelmed. The CGI was noticeable and the whole Falcon chase scene made me dizzy from the shaky cam. I'm extremely interested in the Bucky storyline of his atonement for his sins. My favorite part of the episode was the therapy session. Those camera angles did an excellent job of making it feel uncomfortable. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable heavy handed racial and political overtures that will undoubtedly appear. As long as its not the only defining character arc I'm cool with it just thinks there's so much more potential here. Obviously I'm coming back for more on Friday and ill withhold judgement but to me it gave me the exact feeling that The Boys Season 2 and WandaVision and even the Mandalorian did initially. I was just left with a feeling of "Thats it?" Man I hate we've moved away from binge watching. An underwhelming or slow burn episode works fine when I can immediately watch the next. Waiting a week is a different story.

DJ is the most underrated WR in the league right now. Option A and jt isn't close. If he signed for 18 million Id be ecstatic. I fully expect him to be the highest paid WR in the NFL when his contract is up. Why? Because DJ Moore is still only 23 years old. There are rookie WRs in this draft that are a year younger than DJ. Hell, Golladay is 27. I would never give Curtis Samuel 11-12 a year when we have CMC on the roster. Factor in the monster boom in salary cap were going to see in 2023 and the 100+ million we have available next season and I'm not too worried about his cost

Deshaun Allegations detailed (not good)
SteveSmithTD89 replied to Mills's topic in Carolina Panthers
So looks like there wasn't an actual Texans trainer. He referred to Quincy Avery twice and once was as a "Texans trainer" At least that's what the internet tells me. I'm sure the "Its a Hit by the Texans" heard that bit and ran with it. -

For what its worth. Thats also Trey Lance's personal QB coach Doesn't mean anything one way or another. Just recognized the name from Lance's pro day. -

Worth noting there's is a time jump of about 8 months between the apologies (think that was the first complaint) and the 3rd (assault claim) I'm anxious to see the resolution like everyone else but if he is allegedly continuing to get away with it its not unreasonable that he progressed to this culmination. I still stand by my original stances of if this is true the DA should pick up criminal charges and if it isn't and a massive set up Cal should be forced to sell and see jail time as well. -
Whichever of Slater or Sewell are still on the board. After that I could get behind Pitts, Parsons or Chase but I'd much prefer a trade down and get a future 1st.
-
If we want him we can get him. No moves required, give him big guaranteed money, spread it over life of the deal. 14-15 million will look like a bargain this time 2 years once that cap goes up from the TV deals.

Edited my post to make sure future readers know that its just a rumor and it was prior to the extension. Certainly don't want people quoting you and running with fake news because of the telephone game. -

I dont disagree with anything said. In fact I meant to put at the end of my blurb on Buzzbee that as insufferable he may seem that doesn't make him an incompetent attorney. He has been extremely successful and at one time was elected as a top trial attorney in the country. I certainly don't want to liken this to that of Weinstein, Nassar, Bill Cosby or any other preceeding incidents but because of those very instances I am not going to ignore these claims entirely because of the time that has passed. I cant speak to anyone getting into his inner circle but there was someone in this thread I believe who said the decision to trade Hopkins was because he was a bad influence on Watson when it came to women and it was at Watson's moms behest he was traded. Of course thats 100% a rumor and the poster said as much but that was before the extension I believe. Obviously there's been nothing to substantiate that claim but theres the time old adage "money changes people" or maybe its CTE or maybe someone else did worm their way into his circle but I would agree these allegations don't seem like they came from the same person who donated their first game check to the cafeteria and facility staff of the Texans. Like you I'm hopeful and confident the Justice system works out in this situation. -

The rape allegations aren't a year later, they're 3 months later. Thats my most concerning thing with these allegations is the increase in the severity as time goes on. I think the timing is certainly suspect but these aren't things that materialize overnight. The attorney still needs to at least corroborate the claims before he wastes his time (read his money) on it. Speaking of Buzzbee strikes me as every other personal injury attorney in the world. Wacky commercials, advertisements on city busses and billboards, jingles, absurd over the top personalities, etc. They want to be recognizable to be out there so when you get injured you're the first person they call. Only difference with ole Buzz here is he has that combined with this "Boomer on the internet" mindset making him even more insufferable. All that said, if these allegations are true. I hope the DA picks it up and runs with it for criminal charges and Watson gets jail time. Likewise, if this is a ploy by Easterby, McNair, Tepper or whoever I hope they end up in prison too. Intentionally dragging a man's name through the mud with rape allegations is as scummy as it gets. I have faith in the justice system and hope the truth comes out regardless what it means for the Carolina Panthers. Either way you slice it this is bigger than football. -

Ya know what that's fair. Easy for that to get glossed over between the two threads and all the responses. I'll rescind my snarky comment. -

Unless he's gonna tell you it qualifies as rape it most certainly does and he knows it. -

Yep. Far far safer option at this point. I was iffy on the price for Watson to begin with but this pretty much seals it baring some resolution where this was all made up and a hit job (doubtful). -

Welp, GG. Not touching that with a 10 foot pole. Trey Lance here we come! -
We won't get a comp pick. We've signed more FA then we've lost.
-
Good for him. Wouldn't want him back at that price point with Moores deal on the horizon. Id like to think we'll move in on a CB now and look to the draft for a mid round WR. Tutu Atwell being a personal favorite in the 3rd/4th

He did get absolutely crushed by Greg Hardy when we played them. That was fun.
