  1. It's not like Andy fugin Dalton is suddenly going to lead us on a Flacco like resurgence into the playoffs. Were getting the number 1 pick regardless who plays QB. I just want to watch entertaining football again so I can feel anything other than apathy on a Sunday afternoon. Dalton at least means we'd lose 31-24.
  2. Gonna be a long next 3.5 months. At this point I just wonder when I'll have mentally checked out and start doing something else with my Sundays.
  3. Oh yay! We get to see another Bryce Young drive before this nightmare of a half is over. fug this team man.
  4. In what world was that NOT a turnover? Especially when it was called one on the field?
  5. They know it's a rebuild. You just can't say that publicly. Could you imagine if they did? A team with our track record the last 7 years coming out and saying the last 2 rebuilds didn't work so it's time for a rebuild of a rebuild of a rebuild. Man people would quit showing up to games and you'd be able to buy tickets to the games for a dollar apiece. Oh wait.
  6. I actually had the Seahwaks game from 2015 pop up in my recommended on YouTube yesterday and went down a rabbit hole reliving the good ole days. Offensively, the roster now is better. Cam > Bryce Stew > Chuba Ginn < Diontae Cotch < Thielen Philly < XL Olsen > Sanders OL = OL (Oher, Kalil only obvious upgrades but Moton >>>>>> Remmers) Jury is still out on Canales, it's been one game, but I have a hard time believing the offensive playcalling would ever be as stale and conservative as it was under Ron/Shula. All in all, with 2015 Cam on this Roster we're putting up points, and a lot of them. Defensively though, yikes... I don't known that a single person on this defense would start over that 2015 team except maybe Brown over Star, Woods over Harper and Horn over Peanut and those last 2 I'm not 100% on. All in all it probably looks a lot like Cams rookie season. 28+ points a game, setting the world on fire Offensively and breaking records but we can't stop a nose bleed on the other end and lose a bunch of close games 35-31. I'd still watch though and most importantly I'd have hope for the future.
  7. This is not entirely accurate. If Tua is medically cleared to return to football and decides on his own to retire like Luke did then he would give up the 124 million in guaranteed money remaining on his contract. If he is *not* medically cleared to return to football and essentially forced into retirement he then would have a claim to the remaining 124 million in guaranteed money. I would have to imagine given the salary cap implications of option 2 they would probably come to terms on some type of cutom settlement to resolve that.
  8. In all seriousness, I hope Tua is okay. He's had 2 of the 4 scariest concussions I've ever seen on a football field (Luke and Case Keenum being the others) Somethings are bigger than football.
  9. Dolphins, can I interest you in another slightly undersized Alabama QB? Let's call it a 4th and be done with it
  10. The Delhomme 5 int game against Philly takes the cake. Followed the 4 int debacle against AZ in the playoffs. We were supposed to be good, that playoff meltdown was the abnormality. Instead it cemented our windows was nailed shut. That said this was embarrassing. Only 16 more weeks till Bryce Young can get the fug off this roster.
  11. I have been very vocal in my disdain for Plummer from the moment he signed as an UDFA so I get it lol. That said, this year teams are allowed to have a 3rd QB dressed and allowed to play on Sundays who does not need to be on the 53, or even the GameDay active list. League basically wants to avoid situations like when the 9ers played CMC at QB for the 4th quarter against the Eagles because Purdy and Johnson went down. With that I don't think we carry 3 QBs on the active roster but I do hope we bring in one on the PS who is not Plummer.
  12. I don't. Emergency 3rd QB rule in place I doubt we carry one on the 53. If it gets past Bryce and Andy we're fuged anyway.
  13. Honestly bummed about Johnson and Jackson. Thought both had real shots at making the 53... Never say never I guess. See if either/both end up on the Practice Squad.
  14. I think it's pretty evident there were three shifts in the offense. The source mentions changing the offense 3 times but we dont know if that means schemes, playcalling, philosophy/identity or just 3 different iterations. With that said we know there were at least a couple obvious changes to the O last year. 1) The initial Frank Reich offense 2) Thomas Browns itteration of Franks offense when he took over the play calling. While it was still the same playbook the philosophy changed as well as who was making the calls/talking in Bryces ear. 3) The Tabor/Brown collaboration after Reich was axed and was likely heavily influenced by Tepper when reports came out he was wanting to see an offense closer to what Bryce ran at Bama. Last year was a poo show from top to bottom. Hopefully Canales and his staff's unified vision and terminology give Bryce a shot to prove himself. If he doesn't, he'll be on another roster next year and we'll be speculating all winter long what new QB we're going to pick in April.
  15. And only 9 more days till Plummer gets his useless ass off this roster.
  16. Dillon Johnson showed a combination of speed, power and explosiveness we haven't seen at the RB spot since Stew. Never went down on first contact, decisive in his cuts and turned several 2 yard losses into 3-5 yard games. More importantly, he wanted to be out there. Looked like he actually gave a poo and wasn't just going through the motions during garbage time of the 4th quarter. I would not think twice at putting him on the 53 especially if Brooks starts the season on IR.
  17. 0% chance he's on the 53. Maybe PS. When he gets outplayed by Lutton in the 4th again even that's going to be unlikely.
  18. This will be the most enjoyable thread of the year based on the first Mod edit. Corbett concerns me more than Bryce at this point. Dionte Johnson looks like he's going to eat in this offense this year.
  19. Oh no... who could have ever seen this coming.
  20. I'm fine with it preseason week 1. Bryce handing the ball off 3 times and then sitting hardly constitutes "game action" to me. Now, if this continues all preseason it's a problem. Preseason can't "matter" as Canales has said several times and have Bryce and others not suit up as a healthy scratches. I expect at least one game (whichever they deem the regular season warmup) where he plays *at least* a half if not more. That said, it's August 7th, not September 1st. I'm perfectly fine withholding judgement at this time and revisiting after a few more weeks. If the narrative is the same and we don't see Bryce in the preseason I'll grab my pitchforks with the rest of you but seems silly to do so at this juncture for this reason.
  21. This would have some merit... if it wasn't Jack Plummer starting at QB for us. I've been vocal I wanted Stroud over Bryce and dont consider myself a defender of his by any stretch but if you sincerely believe Plummer gives this staff a better opportunity to assess the roster than Bryce does I've got a bridge to sell you. Tomorrow is going to be rough on offense.
  22. As a Louisville fan, let me ease your concerns, he won't.
  23. 5 in the 2 year span you'd originally referenced. The 40+ yarder was part of the ATL fiasco 2 years ago. Last year he made 86% of his FGs and 85% of his XPs. That's good for 22nd and dead last in the NFL respectively. You can say Kicker hasn't been a weakness but it sure as hell hasn't been a strength. Now dude wants to hold out for more money? Good luck on your next venture. Theres a reason he was passed around the league before he landed here.
