watching panther games next season
SteveSmithTD89 replied to MickMixon'sMetaphors's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cost effective? Sail the seven seas. Ethical? For the last two years I've gone the Sunday Ticket route on Youtube TV as an out of town fan and split the costs with my Dad. -
First Superbowl I didnt finish probably since I was in elementary school. What a terribly uninteresting game. Whether it was my disdain for both teams, having to listen to Tom Bradys incompetence or whatever other reason I was incredibly disinterested in the biggest sporting event of the year. As an aside, I just can't get over our game with Philly. Despite the worst run defense in the history of the NFL we were a dropped XL touchdown away from dick slapping the Eagles in their own house. Played the Chiefs close too. The optimist in me will just look at last night as support that we're closer than we think.

BREAKING: Myles Garrett Requests Trade from CLE
SteveSmithTD89 replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
100% worth at least making the call. Just turned 29 at the end of December and has 2 years left on his deal. A deal that we'd be on the hook for less than 3 million total because Cleveland has already paid out his signing bonus. I'm sure the asking price is astronomical but he is a player at a position of need with a contract that is more than reasonable that it'd be absolute professional negligence not to pick up the phone and at least ask. -
If it didn't end so so so poorly with Dionte I'd be all for this. All WRs have a bit of that diva attitude to them, it's just a matter of whether you have the culture to deal with it and if they're good enough to put up with it. Hill checks the later of the two without question but I don't think we have the culture to handle a malcontent like that. Yet.

Want to see back: One of (but preferably both) Brady Christensen/Cade Mays Mike Jackson If the price is right would like them back: Tremble JJ Hekker Sam Franklin David Moore That's about it from the list. Lot of churning at the bottom of the roster.

Week 18 Game Thread: Cats vs Birds

Just 1 more sleep till Evero gets the fug off this staff. -
Add Cooper Rush to the long list of mediocre backup QBs that have slaughtered the Panthers. What an absolute embrassment of a game.

I don't know if I'm more pissed at the product on the field today or in myself for thinking these last 3 weeks were indicative of actual progress and change. Same old Bryce. Same old Panthers.

Has your return to playoffs timeline been adjusted?
SteveSmithTD89 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I said this in another thread but it holds true here as well: If we'd held on and beaten KC, Tampa and Philly (which isn't that big of a stretch) we would currently be tied for first in the division. Assuming Young continues to play and improve like he has the last 5 weeks then we should absolutely be in a threat for the division next year. The South is right there for the taking -
The leaps and bounds of improvement we've seen from Bryce over year 1 -year 2 and within year 2 (post benching) is exactly why I won't write XL off yet. These guys aren't finishing products in the NFL. That said, T-Mac is, and definitely should be in consideration with our 1st pick.

6 weeks ago I would have taken a conditional 7th to never see him on the sideline ever ago. I don't know that he'll ever contend for an MVP or anything but in reality, if we win these last 3 games including today (which he has played more than well enough to do) we are right in the thick of the division race and tied for first with our eyes on playing postseason football. That is insane to say out loud and should be the bare minium for us as soon as next year. Contending for the division.
