  1. One fan is excited that Oher is on the team
  2. Anyone got further details as to what's up with Bene?
  3. Man. I've loving everything I hear about Peanut Tillman. Check out these comments by Roman Harper. (via BBR) SWEET.
  4. BBR has a one-page complete July 31 Training Camp coverage page: http://blackandbluereview.com/training-camp-july-31/
  5. Mods, can you pin this thread so it doesn't slip down the page? Thanks.
  6. Voth has got a short video with highlights of Cam's Media time: http://blackandbluereview.com/video-best-of-cam-newtons-friday-press-conference/
  7. Jeremy's twitter poetry: NICE! But, it would flow just a bit better (and fit Limerick form) with two more syllables in the 2nd line: There once was a player named Funchess Who caught NEWTON'S touchdowns in bunches... May it be so!
  8. PREACH IT! But I do like their attitude...
  9. While Stephen Hill's situation is bad enough, was just reading about Sheldon Richardson and realizing how much worse things could have been had Hill been equally stupid in resisting arrest. http://nypost.com/2015/07/30/jets-sheldon-richardson-arrested-for-fleeing-cops-at-143-mph/ Thankfully Hill apparently cooperated fully with police...
  10. Are you thinking Ginn shouldn't make the team at all? Or just not play as a WR? I'm assuming Ginn basically makes the team as a specialist for returns, and that he gives us the chance now and again to throw different WR schemes at a defense. But unless someone else is an OBVIOUSLY gifted (and experienced!) punt returner, we NEED Ginn on the team. Our ST cost us games last year. So this is why I'm pretty convinced we keep 6 WRs on the team. Benji, Funchess, Brown, Ginn, and probably Bersin & Cotchery. If Byrd can crack the roster, that would be exciting, but I'm thinking he'll be on the PS.
  11. In case it's helpful, here's a table with all the rookies and the players with < 2 years experience. Players highlighted in bold are Carolina Draft Picks. 12. If it's helpful, the blue band on the Panthers forum home page is the proper Carolina blue, not this baltomorish purple. The purple only seems to be within a given topic thread.
  13. Yes, a purpleish-blue band up top. On the bright side, at least the disruption happened BEFORE camp, not during. I always dread Tuesday nights & automated software updates. Sometimes if there's a Microsoft patch, then there are tons of other programs following with updates. Adobe updates often crash my computer, and Thunderbird updates sometimes mess me up too.
  14. Some here were expressing interest in Jake Long. He's been to visit a few teams this week. Sounds like the Falcons have just passed on him and signed someone quite similar to the two OL guys we just signed - little experienced, bounced around the league a bit: Via the Falcaholics, news that the Falcons have PASSED on Jake Long, but instead have signed Demarcus Love http://www.thefalcoholic.com/2015/7/29/9069443/falcons-sign-offensive-lineman-demarcus-love-pass-on-jake-long I only skimmed the article & comments, but this makes me feel a little better about our signings yesterday. Suggests the OT market really is very thin at the moment.
  15. By the way here's the link to the Darrin Reaves page: http://www.panthers.com/team/roster/Darrin-Reaves/64fdbd29-2dda-441c-8a42-4f24731413f5
  16. I've been thinking he is eligible. He played only 6 games last year (his first year). I'm not sure how many games he was on the active roster, but I *THINK* he had less than an accrued season [Update: it looks like Reaves was only active for the 6 games he played in, so that should mean he is eligible] Here is a simplified version of the rules: from here: http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/8/29/6077941/nfl-practice-squad-rules-eligibility-salary-deadline
  17. I personally am assuming Ward is a likely candidate for the PS.
  18. I'm assuming Stewart, Fozzy & CAP all make the 53 man roster (kind of a no brainer...), and I'm pretty confident Todman might make it too. I think Wegher will make the Practice Squad. I've been thinking for awhile that Reaves might be a casualty as far as the roster. Assuming no other team grabs him, will he still be eligible for the PS after camp now that we've waived him? Is it unusual to carry 4 RBs? Here's how I have the offense shaking out on the 53 man roster at the moment: OffenseQB2 TE3 FB1 RB4 C2 OG3 OT5 WR6 Off Total 26
