DJ putting up the best stats of any Panthers WR since Smitty: Smitty saw this and tweeted out that DJ is his spirt animal (the same comment he made when we drafted DJ, if I recall correctly.

Panthers offense in the 2nd half was so efficient. Had 1 TD drive (9 or 10 plays?) in which they never faced 1st down, and they did a pretty great job of staying ahead of the chains the whole half. TMJ and Dan Arnold did have 2 clutch 3rd & long conversions though when they were needed.

Sam's Next Gen Stats Passing Chart: He seems to be improving on intermediate & deeper throws each week. Love to see it. Sam's deeper passing stats were a new career high: Darnold finished 9/11 for 198 yards on passes traveling 10+ air yards, completing +24.7% of passes over expected according to our completion probability model, a new career-high.

Convert 3rd downs. Stop opponents on 3rd down. A good formula for winning football! (Panthers offense still pretty inconsistent on their own 3rd down conversions, but the defense has been very consistent).

As promised, a bunch of Panthers stats I've seen on Twitter following their week 3 win against Houston. I'm going back to Sept 22 (last Wed) and then going forward.... Makes me sad to revisit some of the great CMC stats from right before the game and the 1st quarter. But hopefully he'll heal up quickly and be back on the field within a few short weeks.

Here's the week 3 player by player breakdown of 3rd down attempts. DJ Moore continues to lead the team in 3rd down conversions. Sam's 2 successful conversions on 3rd & short (including his 1 yard touchdown run) were huge for the team:

I have a bunch of stats tweets to post from the past few days. I'll probably do some of that while MNF is on later. But I do just want to post one of my own stat tweets from just a few minutes ago. Our run defense may not be as "sexy" as our pass defense... but it may be the part of our defense that is "most improved" (along with getting off the field on 3rd down ... the two are related!!)
