  1. Looks like a beautiful day in CLT. Excited by the fact that with 33+ points we can be the #1 offense in the league. THAT would be so Sweet. Shock & Silence all the doubters who respect our D but rag on our our O. Let's do it Panthers! Panthers 37, Atlanta 23.
  2. I wish CAP would be active, but I don't know who else they could deactivate. It's frustrating, but a good problem to have. I just really hope we won't regret the fact that he has so little game time this season. Is Wegher the only player on the roster who hasn't been active all season? Norwood was active 1 game, and Marlowe played last week... Got to get BWegs in at least ONE game Ron...!
  3. Following up on the above comment, it was against Washington in week 11 that Cam moved into the #2 spot behind Peyton Manning for most combined yards in 1st 5 seasons. Here are some of Cam's stats for that game. Hoping today is the day Cam adds another passing & rushing TD combo to tie him with Steve Young for the record. http://blackandbluereview.com/redskins-at-panthers-stats-and-superlatives/
  4. I didn't realize Cam was this close to Peyton's 1st 5 seasons yards record. Let's hope he has a HUGE game today to get him really well within reach! Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 5m5 minutes ago 1,284. Avg of 257/game would get him there RT @Michael_AskewJr: @BlackBlueReview how many yards is Cam from Peyton's first 5 seasons total? I'm trying to find the tweet for when Cam moved into #2, but here are the totals as they stood after week 10. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 2m2 minutes ago Most combined yds rush & pass, 1st 5 seasons: 1. P.Manning - 21,174 2. M.Ryan - 19,457 3. D.Marino - 19,428 4. C.Newton - 19,400 According to Panthers.com, as of today, here are Cam's yardage totals: 16,892 passing 2,998 rushing 19,890 total
  5. We're the only team that can clinch our division and/or a playoff spot today based on our own play - i.e. not needing help from other teams. Sweet. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000592534/article/nfl-playoff-scenarios-for-week-13 I'll also throw in my prediction here: Panthers 35 - Aints 21
  6. Some stats via BBR: Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 57m57 minutes ago Over their past 4 games, the Saints have allowed an average of 38.5 points and 442.8 yards while allowing 16 passing TDs with 1 INT. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 56m56 minutes ago Oh, and 143.75 rushing yards per game. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 53m53 minutes ago The Saints have allowed 21 or more points in all 11 games. The Panthers have scored 20 or more points in all 11 games. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 31m31 minutes ago Here’s one to remember as you watch Cam Newton today: The Panthers have scored 332 points this year. In 2010 they scored 196.
  7. Jeff Darlington ‏@JeffDarlington 14m14 minutes ago Something to watch. I'm hearing Ellerbe is dealing with setback to sports hernia, which could be big for Greg Olsen. Around The NFL @AroundTheNFL .@JeffDarlington reports Dannell Ellerbe isn’t expected to play this afternoon for Saints. 8 retweets 0 likes
  8. Since there's no gameday thread yet (Ahem...!) I'll just post this here.
  9. 4:30 Eastern, 3:30 Central (i.e. 3:30 in New Orleans, 4:30 in CLT)
  10. I'm beginning to wonder what the record number of takeaways is in a season. Also, what's the record for points scored off of takeaways. Our numbers are getting pretty insane. But I've not done any research. I've not heard anyone talking of us getting near a record, so perhaps we're nowhere close, but boy, the points we're scoring off of turnovers is just AMAZING. 107 of our points.
  11. Panthers PR Dept. ‏@PanthersPR 36m36 minutes ago #Panthers 2 pick 6s give them 10 since 2013, tied with Arizona for most in the NFL
  12. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 1m1 minute ago Cowboys 2nd quarter: 1 first down, 9 total yards, 1 passing yard, 2 INTs
  13. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 1m1 minute ago Good stat to keep track of RT @andrew_crawley: @BlackBlueReview Panthers out scoring the NFC East 94 - 35 through two and a half games.
  14. Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 32s32 seconds ago Some missed opps today, but updating this one: C.Newton is 44/66 (67%) for 613 yds w/7 TDs and 0 INTs in the first half of his past 4 games.
  15. So thrilled for Luke to get his first TD as a Panther. Makes it special to have it happen in such a huge game.
  16. 28 takeaways & 107 points scored off turnovers. WOW WOW WOW. Talk about our defense & offense working together. Love it.
  17. Signing off the Huddle for awhile so as to not slow down my gamepass streaming... I've got confidence in our guys. They're hungry for a Thanksgiving feast.
  18. How bizarre! Ok, thanks for letting me know. I'll see if i can figure out what's going on .... but AFTER the game.
  19. I've not changed my avatar. Still TD pounding the keep pounding drum. But you're the second person who's mentioned my avatar is confusing today, so I'm not sure what others are seeing.
  20. Repping the Panthers here in Africa. Upping my predicted score. Panthers 31 - Cowboys 17. Let's go Panthers. Keep Pounding! We got this. Happy Thanksgiving all.
  21. Good article. One minor quibble or perhaps more of a question. You wrote: Yet, we scored TDs on our 1st 2 possessions, so it seemed as if we did have some early success against their D. But yes, after those 1st two drives, we had 4 drives end in punts, and two red-zone attempts end in field goals, before again having a very nice TD-scoring drive in the 4th. What was different with our offense and Titans' defense on drives 1 & 2 when we moved the ball 143 yards and scored two TDs vs. drives 3 through 6 when we gained a net total of 14 yards? Did Tenn make defensive changes in the 2nd quarter? Anyway, I agree very much with your thesis about Shula's successful adaptation in the long-term picture. It's been nice to see.game plans seemingly well-designed for our offensive strengths & weaknesses.
  22. Really nice pix, as always. Appreciated them even more this week as bad internet meant I couldn't get gamepass or even the Panthers radio for most of the game. So, I've not watched yet, but your pix help me get a great feel for the day.
