  1. Hey y'all. I downloaded the Gamebook, and I'm likely going to spring for a PFRef subscription so I can dig into their stats that are now paywalled. What stats are you curious about? Remember, I'm not an Xs & Os gal, so I can't really tell you how many times we played what formation kind of thing. But some of the things that have already caught my eye: Sacks / Pressures Red Zone performance 3rd down conversion (on both sides of the ball) Stopping the run I may also start tracking snaps played by rookies. What types of stats do you want to know more about? Got some work and errands I need to do now, but will be back online this evening to check out the replies and start crunching numbers.
  2. I'm loving the Brown + DaQuan Jones combo.
  3. Yes, it's not only the sack and pressure totals that are exciting, but the number of defensive players who were stepping up and making BIG plays. Shaq, Brown, Burns, Reddick, Haynes, YGM, D-Jack, Hartsfield, Luvu.... so many guys had GREAT days. I didn't actually focus much on Chinn, but he had a bunch of pressures. I'm sure I'm forgetting some names too. Jaycee played fine, DaQuan Jones looks to be a great addition. Carter was solid.... This looks like it could be a pretty complete defense. A shame about Hartsfield's injury with Bouye still out next week. We need some depth at Nickel. Play dropped off when Hartsfield went out, Burris switched and Chandler came in.
  4. I was told I was overreacting when I jumped on Rhule's comments not to worry about Red Zone Offense in preseason since it was only vanilla stuff, no trick plays, etc. But I repeat, it's very VERY concerning if we can only win in the Red Zone with cute trick plays. Love CMC to death, but running him up the middle near the goal line on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 is not often successful.
  5. Did they get new DJ, or was Vinny E. still the guy? I saw a tweet about "we miss Vinny" wast sure what was up with that.
  6. Still don't know why we let Armah go, and / or didn't bring him back after he was cut by Saints. Yeah, I know, with him as FB we had redzone issues, but still think he's better than Ricci. If we're going to use a FB, I want a FB,
  7. Seriously. I honestly wonder if we should be aggressive and take some deep shots on 1st & 10 if we're in the 30s or something... Try to avoid the condensed field problem entirely! I know that's high risk football, but I can dream, can't I?!
  8. All of those deserve recognition for sure. I was also impressed with DJ Moore. Yes, he had one drop, but moved the chains on a CRUCIAL drive. A great steady weapon for Sam. So underrated. Also, thought Donte had an excellent game. In fact it's hard to single out just a few guys on Defense. I mean Burns, Shaq, Reddick, Brown, Haynes, Nixon all were in on sacks. The pressure was pretty solid. Lots of guys making plays. Might have to give Phil Snow a game ball.
  9. So true. Ugh. Glad we're kicking the tires on someone because Elflein looked bad. But it's hard to think this is going to solve our problems.
  10. I always thought that even though he was cheap, he was a cap casualty. Right now we have cap space. I think he'd be a good addition.
  11. I doubt we will succeed if we put in a claim. Lions cut BOTH their kickers and they are above us in the waiver wire order.
  12. Agree. (Obviously I was assuming Tecklenburg makes the PS again...)
  13. It's early yet. Given Fitterer's love of roster churn, things could look different by week 1.
  14. Yeah, amazing how many guys from last 2 draft classes we've kept. Per Darin Gantt: "For starters, it's very young. Of the 18 draft picks from the last two classes, 16 of them are on the roster as presently constructed"
  15. Any chance we can continue to develop Tecklenburg as our next center?
  16. I don't know much about them, but 2 from the Rams look interesting. Also David Mayo was cut by Washington as was Jordan Kunaszyk.
  17. Doesn't seem likely that Ravens kicker Verity will fall to us on waivers. Lions just cut BOTH their kickers and they are above us on the waiver wire.
  18. Doesn't seem likely the Panthers will be able to claim Ravens kicker Verity on waivers. Lions just cut BOTH their kickers and they are above us in the waiver wire order. Bummer.
