  1. Cam Newton hopes to become the QB Drew Brees has been through his career. A levy breaking reference. If nothing else in life, I know I'll never be the classless tool you are.
  2. I would say something about the women you usually sleep with, but don't want to get into any trouble.
  3. You should tweet him and tell him about the shithole he grew up in.
  4. Personal ties? Not that I know of. I know they were very high on him. He said he'd love to play at home. He grew up in Baton Rouge and his whole family lives there. That's why he chose LSU. I'm sure he was coached what to say.
  5. He would play guard for the Saints. He's said through the whole process he doesn't care where he plays. He'd be the starter at LG almost immediately. The contract would be one thing to look at. Saints pay their guards like tackles though, so you never know.
  6. It certainly didn't sound like it from the Gettleman interview earlier. Sounded pretty sure Oher was the guy. I also don't think any GM in the league is going to pass by the shot of signing a top 15 pick as an UDFA because they don't think he's needed.
  7. Nah. I'll give up. Hopefully we find out something about La'el later this evening.
  8. That's not the discussion we're having. He said, "your worst nightmare". Cam doesn't scare me. The Panthers defense is scary. Cam is not. Aren't stats what Panthers fans throw up any time someone says anything negative about Cam? There a thread on it on page 1 right now. Stats are great unless they don't work in your favor...
  9. I know your game. Cam is MJ. He's the GOAT. He's an unparalleled God. You're not baiting me into getting banned again though. Cam Newton is the least of my worries when we play the Panthers. The last two years, he's averaged about 180 yards passing and 40 yards rushing. He's got 7 total TDs in 4 games and 2 interceptions. In those games, he's about a 50% passer. You're correct. Bell is gone and replaced by someone who has arguably played worse than him the last few years.
  10. Well, playing the Browns, Bucs, Falcons and Saints to end the year definitely helped, whether you care to admit that or not. The Cardinals were a walking IR team going into the playoffs. But I won't pretend Carolina didn't improve on the field as well. Going away from the veterans and moving to what seems like more talented rookies helped. Remmers and Norwell stepped in and really held their own on the line, which really struggled early. Pretty much any resistance was an upgrade. Bene coming back from injury and playing as well as he was before his injury was a help for the secondary, as well as Boston taking over a starting spot. Any time you take Thomas Decoud off the field, good things happen. Josh Norman played at a very high level the last half of the season. I don't want to crown him yet, but he looked very good. The pass rush really picked up towards the end of the season as well. Not sure if that had anything to do with playing teams with horrible olines or not, but it did. I know many are hoping for a bounce back year from Star though. Stewart staying healthy and taking over on offense was a major plus. His numbers were so much better than Williams. Philly Brown getting a little more time on the field as the field stretcher really helped too. Putting some speed out there. Anyway, I know plenty about the team. I don't watch all 16 games, but I watch around 10, I guess. Couple that with being here every day and reading what all of you maroons ( ) are saying and I have a pretty god understanding about the team.
  11. I agree. Stewart staying healthy is always a major factor. Dudes an animal. He would have put up some numbers in his career if he could have stayed healthy. The biggest question mark for me about your team, is all of the rookies that started last year. Naturally, you say they'll all get better, but that's just not how it works. 2 years ago, Vacarro looked like one of the next great safeties in football. Last year, he was nonexistent. Sophomore slumps happen. Young players aren't always what we think they are. Some just don't progress right away. Do Bene and Boston build off of a great start, or take a step back? Same with Norwell and Remmers. Does Oher stay healthy and return to form? Some questions, but as a whole, I think the division takes a step forward this year. We can only hope so, because last year was atrocious.
  12. Assuming a rival fan doesn't know enough about your team is ignorant. I know plenty about the Panthers, and about the improvements made towards the end of the year. At the end of the day, we're a couple of fans 7 win teams hoping that changes made this offseason translate on the field.
  13. Definitely. Brees will retire a Saint. The offense will still produce. I'm anxious to see the defense. Im excited about adding Browner and getting Byrd back. I think we got more athletic at linebacker. I'm highly skeptical that you'll be one of the best teams in the NFC. It's hard for me to believe that, coming off of a 7-8-1 season. Just being real.
  14. To be fair, at 21, I'm not entirely sure how much being a part of a contender is worth. With Brees, for the next 2-3 years, the Saints are just as much of a contender as the Panthers, and I feel like they've made huge strides to protect the future this offseason as well. I definitely think it comes down to Trai vs. staying home. Panthers have a pretty big play piece. So do the Saints. I just hope he's able to make the best out of this situation, honestly. While I would love him in NO, I can't help but feel for the kid if he's innocent. He really got dealt a raw deal.
  15. I fully expect the Saints to be in play when he's cleared. He would have been the pick at 13. We can offer him an immediate starting spot and an opportunity to stay home and play for the team he grew up watching. It will be very interesting to see how it plays out. I think it comes down to the Panthers and the Saints, if both decide to throw their hat in.
  16. Well, they wouldn't allow him to remove himself from the draft and enter the supplemental draft, but I'm not sure how it would work if he didn't show up after being drafted. I'm like you. I don't know enough about the specifics. I would assume they wouldn't allow him to enter next year, being that a team drafted his rights.
  17. I think some teams have him on their boards really late. You can move on from a guy that never suits up for you if you take him in the 5th or 6th round. It's not so easy in the first few. Payton said on PFT earlier that he's still on the Saints board. I just don't think it will be until the late rounds. Then you hope he shows up.
  18. Hunter is a player that you look at in a uniform and think he's going to dominate. He just never did at LSU. His upside is through the roof. But watching him as a Tiger fan was maddening. He should have been a force and just never was.
  19. But I'm having so much fun talking to you! I thought we were friends!?
  20. I'm chillin. Talking on a bunch of boards at the moment. It's draft time. It doesn't always have to be this way.
  21. If La'el really had nothing to do with the whole situation going on, you can't help but feel for him. This has cost him millions.
