I wouldn't call that claim being an incessant homer. I don't think anyone logical can argue about Stewart's skillset. The guy is an animal. The only hang up on his game is the "when healthy" label. I'm fairly certain he's rode more miles on the bike than he has run down the field. Also, fug Favre. And people with no NFL allegiance. They are the Swiss. I was simply responding to the talk of Drew Brees being a selfish prick because he took less money than Sir Cameron Newton.

What the actual fug does that have to do with the player? You think Cam would have went a different route of the Panthers cap room would have been tighter? Thats not his job. Sooner or later, fans everywhere will start realizing these guys love the cities they play in and the fans, but this is a business. They can't worry about anyone but themselves, and frankly, I don't blame them. There's not a single time in all of my years that I've thought, "Wow, this guys a dick for wanting his money." Players know teams will kick them to the curb as soon as they don't perform. Cam was going to st paid regardless. Acting like he's some god because the Panthers have a little cap space the next few years is laughable. It doesn't change the amount he signed for, the guaranteed money he got, or anything of that nature. From the pictures, Jimmy looks like he's doing fine. What does that have to do with the conversation at hand? Just like the "Cam Newtons contract is great for the Panthers, but Russel Wilsons will destroy the Seahawks" argument. It's crazy. You realize trading Jimmy cost us money this year right?

Only on the Huddle is Cam Newton a down to earth, unselfish god for taking his contract and Drew Brees is a selfish, money hungry prick for getting his when Cam signed for more than Drew. You really can't make this poo up. I swear I wonder if some ever actually stop to think how dumb their posts sound.

I'm sure his ankle started feeling better late in the year. The offensive line play helped as well. I'm just not sure why it's so hard to look at the team and say what was the biggest turn around? It was the defense. The defense returned to dominant 2013 form and the Panthers started winning. When the Panthers defense is playing well, it helps that offense. They get shorter fields and more possessions. Cam had one game during the 4 game win streak that really stood out, and that was against the Saints. During the 4 game win streak, they gave up 10.5 points a game, as opposed to the 30+ PPG they were giving up during the losing streak. The highest point total an opponent had during the win streak was 16, and that was Arizona, who didn't have a scoring drive over 40 yards. Turnovers set up their TDs. Im not trying to knock Cam with my assessment. Just looking at things from the outside, the defense was the reason for the turnaround.

The NO game, the Saints scored 13 points. The Miami game, the Phins scored 16 points. Cam didn't play a good game in either. Him scoring the go ahead TD doesn't mean he took over the game. The defense was the reason they won those games. The Phins had a bunch of yards, but only had 13 first downs and 16 points.

Eh. We have different memories. The arguments on both sides have basically flip flopped. I wouldn't care, because I have no dog in the fight. I think Ryan is a better QB. I think they're both pretty close as far as their impact on a team. Cam has the higher ceiling. This is another point I don't agree with. Cam doesn't take over games. It's the reason why the Panthers win when the defense plays well and more often than not, lose when he defense doesn't. The biggest turn around on the Panthers team last year was the defense. When they returned to dominant form, the Panthers won. Thats not a knock on Cam. Every QB needs help.

I disagree with Panthers fans for using this argument. Over the first couple years of Cams career, W-L records didn't matter and it was only statistics. W-L records were a team accomplishment. Cam put up monster numbers, so he was better. The roles have reversed and now the arguments have changed. Any argument made against Ryan can basically be flipped and made against Cam and most QBs.

Ranking the NFC South Quarterbacks
saints4lifeagain replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
1. Brees 2. Ryan 3. Cam 4. Winston Drew is still at the top of this list. I understand Cam winning the poll though. Damn homers. Last year I had Cam at 2 and Ryan at 3. Then Cam played most of the year hurt, almost died, and looked terrible at times. I've stated numerous times I feel like Cam is one of the most physically gifted QBs I've ever seen. If he ever puts it all together, it'll be tough to stop. For now I have Ryan ahead of him, but that's subject to change. Winston is last because he's a rookie and hes a Buc.- 19 replies

Russell "Golden Calf of Bristol" Wilson

We're probably the only two here that find it somewhat ironic reading a bunch of fans of Cam Newton bitch about how much of a douche Russel Wilson is. Hateful comments in 3...2...1...
