  1. If he can continue to bulk up while maintaining speed..smdh. A bullrush paired with that would almost be impossible to contain. To think, I didn't want us to touch him because of Everrette Brown and his 1k spins. I wanted Sweat or Gary at the time iirc...glad I was wrong. Dude has swiftly became my favorite player on this defense since Luke left.
  2. I wouldn't forget about Omar Bayless either. From the articles of camp last year I pretty much figured he was a lock to make the team before his injury. That said, his college production was insane too and at one point dude was #1 in receiving yards and tied for the most touchdowns in the NCAA. Mind you, this is the same year of the Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall show at LSU. Difference in competition but he dominated the Sun-Belt .. yet ... he still went undrafted. Here it's a numbers game. I'm just glad we got the comp & depth. We've come along way from Funchess and Philly Brown. I do think Shi makes it over Micah Simon (who reminds me of Samuel btw). But I think we could stash him on the practice squad.
  3. Serious Question for anybody... Is Moton better than prime-Darryl WIlliams on the right side? I can't even remember how good Williams was before his injury. Opinions anyone?
  4. Yea ..I'd agree. Hell if he didnt happen to come out the same year as Chase Young, one could argue he probably would have been the first DE off the board last year. I honestly thought he was/is better than Chaisson. That lawsuit and Penn State forcing him to play DT at times didn't do him any favors. If Jones and/or Fox can atleast duplicate Kerr's success.. we will be dominant, all things considered.
  5. From what I remember Pride subbed in for Donte as his toe issues lingered. Strictly CB iirc, but with Snow who know's. I wouldn't think the Ha Ha signing had anything to do with Pride. Probably more of a statement towards Burris and Robinson, or the depth after Burris. I do like where this secondary is headed though. I havent been able to honestly say that in a long time.
  6. I always thought it was Ron but when Dave was mentioned I literally pictured him sitting at that press table saying it. Mandela effect. Appreciate the confirmation though.
  7. The more I watch of this kid, the more I'm impressed. I think Brady & Ryan are going to revitalize Darnold. In college I saw anticipation throws, him leading recievers open, accuracy, ball placement, etc. Hopefully the NFL didn't ruin his confidence completely. We just need to jog his memory a bit, protect him inside the pocket, erase the Gase influence and allow him to start fast.
  8. lol....yes, that was Gettleman. Ron had to echo that statement though, it just sounds Rivera-ish.
  9. Ironically, I'd look for Robby in this area. DJ and Marshall are just quiet Moton, CMC are more lead by example types. Anderson would be the talker. And possibly Darnold by training camp.
  10. Mind goes to Byron Bell, or was it Nate Chandler???... "he's left handed so he has to be good". (Paraphrasing but it's basically what he was trying to convey to the public).
  11. Nah, I'll pass...respectfully. Sign me up for a roster addition addressing FS though Asap. P.S.. I think we're set a QB. If Donald needs to sub out that means we'll be in position to pick one up in first next draft.
  12. Christian Miller had 2 sacks in a 24 snap span as a rookie in Rivera's circus scheme lol. I think he makes the team. He's just not very durable (up to this point anyway). Only way he doesn't would be if the numbers forced us to choose between Haynes and Miller. The former whom I have expectations of becoming a breakout star with more PT. He's just a tad undersized but he did break Greg Hardy's record at a smaller size. With tackles becoming faster and more agile each season, it might not be a bad idea to keep our roster topped off with athletic situational pass rushers. Phil Snow must be on cloud 9 right now thinking of all the defensive blitzing combinations. Burns, YGM, Reddick, Shaq, Haynes, Fox, Miller, Perryman.. Not to forget occasionally bringing in Donte and/or Horn n AJ... maybe Chinn. All this with Brown, DaQuan and Daviyon in the middle...smdh It is entirely possible this D could b top 10 or better. Either way whatever im envisioning is going to be a nightmare, esp. for the statue-esque QBs.
  13. Wth????? ...plz tell me he didnt say that
  14. We'd certainly have the money to, if that's what we needed to do next offseason. That is assuming our own FA's don't take a 3rd of the budget to resign/extend.
  15. Fair enough. I didn't realize they started Scott over Daley, I thought he got the nod due to injuries. Christensen could indeed be a beast in time. I'm reluctant to crown him based on the competition he faced at BYU though. Also cant forget that the answer may or may not be on the roster yet. Until after preseason cuts. That interior line though... should have some stiff camp battles. Hopefully Paradis will continue building on his growth last season. And between Erving, Elfein, Brown, Daley, Miller, Moore and Scott, the guard position should be pretty reliable. Really wanna see in particular: Derrick Brown vs Deonte Brown (again) Brian Burns vs Brady Christensen
  16. I honestly think it plays out like this based on what I've seen .. If healthy Daley barely beats out Erving. Erving barely beats out Scott.. The wildcard is Christensen.. If you take away the role players with short arms have played at LT in history then Christensen should be the starter week 1. Idunno, I think Erving and Daley have the advantage with the latter starting "if" he can stay healthy. Then again, Carolina seems to be that one team that drafts/develops players that excel despite whatever limitation is placed on 'em. The only thing I know for certain is, we were graded around the middle of the pack last year ....I think we're improved.
  17. That Interior Dline tho.... We got this. My gut tells me this will be a message sending game for us. Gut also tells me, Week 2 we'll come back to earth.
  18. My expectation for his first year is turbulence as he learns the scheme and speed of the game. If he can keep up with receivers and TE's without too much PI, I could very well see his ceiling as Ramsey during his rookie year. They also in common speed and freakishly long arms for corners. One thing is for certain, he's not Darryl Worley. I expect him to get picked on early and often but his attitude so far tells me he's up for the job. He wants to be great, that's unteachable. Side note: This pick actually upgrades both corner spots. And If Donte has atleast half of the ego I think he does, this should push him also.
  19. Ridley - Jackson or Bouye Pitts - Horn Julio - Chinn Ryan - Burns, Reddick, Brown, Jones Honestly, one could apply that exact question to our Offense and add a healthy Cmc and a QB who can throw further than 35 yards.
  20. We do utilize the 3rd WR... but not as much as other teams because we have McCaffrey who is basically another receiver at any time. Which was/is the reason we didnt resign Samuel. We also picked up David Moore this offseason with slot intentions. Marshall imo is a #2...I think he'll contribute immediately but specifically in the redzone since he's 6'4 and that's a problem area. I say next year because that's when Robby Anderson's (our current #2) contract is up. Playing time, they all have a chance at... minus probably the LS. BUT serious playing time this year if I had to guess: Maybe 5 of the 11 and that's being generous. Horn (obvious reasons) Marshall (redzone)... Christensen (he'll be listed at tackle but may end up playing guard at first) ..He's athletic but his arm length might cause him trouble in practice with all the speed rushers we have. He'll primarily be going up against Burns, Haynes, Reddick, Miller, etc. But if he can come out of camp named starter over Scott then we're good. Or Scott could end up starting with Christensen as depth his first year. Alot of variables. Tremble (rotation with Arnold) And maybe Hubbard, depending on McCaffrey's health. I do think he easily beats Cannon and Rodney Smith. Its also is a strong possibility that Daviyon beats out Bravvion but he still has to beat out Daquan Jones. If your talking 50-60% of snaps and over: 2 of the 11 (Horn and Christensen)
  21. I thought that also until we signed Dan Arnold who is purely a pass catching TE. Our schemes should evolve based on exploitation. Maybe we're planning on rotating both depending on down. Wish we could combine DA's and Tremble's skillset into the other.
  22. 3rd day made me a little more comfortable with the first 2. Horn I'm warming up to. Would have took Slater in the first. And JOK or Moehrig in the 2nd. OR.. even Slater then doubled down with Jenkins or Randunz. I just dont fully get the logic but it's not my job to. Think we could have went down 3-4 spots and still grabbed our db. I think Jaycee is to offset Pitts. And the Marshall Jr pick is namely for 2022, as of now he's probably 4th on the depth chart. I will say this though, it is ALOT of "future" potential in this haul. The fan in me says we may have walked away with 5-6 future starters if they reach that potential. In the real world, we're probably looking at 3.
  23. I see our new OT already taking player spots.... foreshadowing perhaps... Or OT is in the wrong spot... Either way we find out. Lol, how does this happen.
