Nope not recently but teams are smart enough in the NFL to at least attempt to build around their star QBs though so it doesn't happen with most franchises.

When I am right and we are struggling to score and it is costing us games and rumors of Cam leaving is being spread by the media I will be back to rub it in your face. I hope I am wrong and getting it rubbed in my face but we shall see. Neither of us know right now but I like my chances.

Any team needing a QB and has the money. Cam is a good QB who has not been given WR help and there is a lot of teams out there who would offer him in a heartbeat compared to what they have now.

If Cam is offered the same money as what we offer by someone else he is going to a team that will build around him which I expect to happen.

When he is on to another team everyone is going to ask why and then we are going to look back at the receiving corp we gave him and then go oh there is the reason.

That is the thing we are not in Cap Hell anymore we have some money to spend.

I see an even worse group and if I am right Cam is gone and people will be calling for Gettleman's job.

My whole life and I have watched Panthers football my whole life. I have seen the game of football go from a running game to more of a passing league. So, excuse me for caring if we actually have talent at that position. I guess anyone without your opinion is only a fan for a few months.

So, pretty much garbage bin material at WR? Where is all those Panthers blind followers now saying how we need to wait and be patient well there is your patience paying off in the form of Jarrett Boykin the greatest of all the lower tier WRs out there. He might be a great person though so at least he can be a role model while Cam gets coverage sacked. There is the big help for that WR corp BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA enjoy watching him get cut like whats his name did this past season. We never get a number two receiver and then everyone blames Cam for nobody being open. That is Panthers offensive football.

I guess that is true but Gettleman just doesn't strike me as that guy. He is good in the draft but free agency I question his ability.

Of course but if we had offered him 7 million a year with same guaranteed money do you think he still goes to San Fran? I say no.

It is not a guarantee though he will. See that is what I never hear about the Panthers they never even pursue free agents most years. With this team you can sell it as being close to a contender but with help needed on offense before that can be the case. Some people will take a little less to play for a team that they feel they can help win a super bowl.

What about 20 Million guaranteed to go to a gutted team or 15 million to go to a team that is near contender level?

Of course but let us say that they have a choice to go to a team that is offering a little less guaranteed but has a good enough core with your addition to win at a super bowl level. It happens a lot in sports. Spitting in my face is a bad idea. I will say that all this talk of spit is making me thirsty.

Relying on drafting a WR to fill a number two spot is a shaky proposal and free agency at WR is over pretty much. Cam will be stuck waiting for receivers to get open after 5 seconds again next season. I smell coverage sacks for everyone.

One million a year more than I said for a WR of Smith's caliber is not a big stretch and of course 10 is too much but 9 million a year on maybe less guaranteed money overall. You are nitpicking about what would have been a great signing for this franchise opposite of Benjamin.
