Please show the verified structure that has been released. Just because a guy on the internet guessed(poorly) doesn’t make it true. Once again, his cap hit was 12M before yesterday. How is adding 4.5M going to keep it the same? If not, how are the 2022-23 cap hits totaling 25M? Most reporters have no clue how to report on contracts.
-
Explain to me how they tore up his current contract? It was 12M cap hit(8M salary + 4M signing bonus left) Adding 4.5M to it doesn’t just bring it to 12.5M. So what awful takes failed to account for this year like you just did. It’s 3/41.5M even if figured that way. And TM is the reason this isn’t a good idea. If he can move up to WR2, they will know by the end of the year. And do any of these players brought up play with the highest paid RB, ever. Who is a receiving weapon as well. If I’m Moore, I’m not playing a snap until my deal is done. If Robbie doesn’t have to risk it, why should he?

You don’t have to make any big signings. Just adding needed players costs money. If a player goes on IR, he has to be replaced. Or cut. And now those are much more accurate than what you posted before. They had more than that this year. What came of that? Lot of holes to fill with just 42M and no 2nd rounder.
-
It’s still 12.6 dead cap. Whether it’s next year or 2023, it’s gone. So it counts against both years. Affecting all that free cap space. What pick/player is going to make this OL solid. And how much or what pick is going to acquire him. Or a new CB. No 2nd rounder. Likely still need a QB. Plus all the roster filler that ain’t free. A new C, on top of the 9.2M Paradis already counts against it. Name one thing that isn’t accurate. You got anything else? I’ll do salary cap issues all day. I’ve got a much better track record than any Panther FO ever has.
-
Remember that when the Panthers are trying to sign OL this off-season. Putting it on this year, or next year, means it’s gone either way. Doesn’t matter what year it hits. It’s money they don’t have anymore. Just like signing Teddy and his great contract. Or Boston. Or keeping KK. Or Weatherly…etc.. Think those contracts would have been better spent on an OL or two. Not bottom feeders like Erving and Elflien either.

I think that’s the discussion point. Not if he’s worth it. It’s is he worth it to the Panthers with DJ Moore to sign as well.

Guaranteeing Darnold 19M, for no apparent reason, is about as much “coddling” as a team can do for a QB.
-
Especially with an owner who has money to burn. He can get him the top medical care available to any man and still come out way ahead. This is the way to get ahead and around the salary cap some. Smith will make about 3M for 4 years. If he can be an average G, playing at a 5M/year level, that’s 17M in value. So putting 5M into his health care is still a bargain. And doesn’t effect the cap.
-
Are y’all serious? He’s going to want 15M/year at least.
-
Ok. Now that grandson’s tournament is over…. There’s a few to get you started. Plenty more. Seems the same people are correct about a lot of things. And the same optimists hardly ever are. Why is that?
-
So all the Teddy threads, all the “winning culture” instead of not spending 80M for nothing threads? How did that work out? How many people did you call out in those? Or should I just post them. Funny how most of the same “negative” posters were on top of all this too. Imagine that.
-
No. That’s how you want to read it. As I’ve said, specifically, my fandom is not an opinion. It’s used to dismiss any statements. You want to tell me I’m wrong, just tell me why. Pretty simple. But that doesn’t happen. It’s always “but you a Steelers fan” so what you said doesn’t exist. Yet the problems I bring up remain. Bring up anything you want to. Let’s discuss. Just leave your PomPoms at the door.

Who faked being a Panthers fan? I was up front from the beginning I was a fan of Cam. And didn’t even post about him during those 5 years. How do you root for a QB and not want his team to win. I was told to be around for when the team proved last year they would have a winning season. So I stuck around. Still waiting. Anything else you want to make up?
-
Not even close. It’s comical that my fandom is the only reason to disregard my comments. Not the issue, or content. I welcome any and all statements that can show any flaws or anything wrong with my comments. But going straight to my fandom just shows these posters can’t refute what I’m stating with any logic or facts. Then complain daily that people actually give their honest opinions on a message board. Most of this board wants an echo chamber. There’s an entire group of posters that have been labeled as negative when in truth they have predicted nearly everything that’s happened over the last couple years. I’m willing to revisit any thread or topic for proof.

That’s obvious. There’s not enough time in your day to understand your own team. Build a business and retire at 50 and you’ll have plenty of time. Then it will be just your lack of knowledge holding you back. I assume you will be giving the same speech to the Jets and Lions fans currently here. Or is that ok because they are pumping sunshine?
-
And I thought I couldn’t possibly feel any better about my wager. Thanks for the help.
-
That’s fair. But I barely made any posts about that player. Mainly because people on here couldn’t have a civilized conversation about him and I would have made it worse. Never blamed the team for his injuries or the way he was let go. That’s what separates me from these current (and actual) trolls who will disappear by mid season.
-
But those posters are just fine as long as they “tow the company line”. Me being a Steelers fan isn’t the problem. Continuing to be correct that the Panthers regularly make huge mistakes in roster construction, is the only issue. I just assume it’s the point in the conversation where the poster can’t refute anything I’ve said. So the default mode is my fandom instead of the issue.
