And now it’s down to 15M after the trade. -

I never said it didn’t. I just stated that the teaM wasn’t under. And clearly showed how and why. Fact is, unless the league starts playing with 38 players, that number is fictional After 10M for draft picks, are all other playing on minimum contracts. Added to the ones on the list already? The cap is assumed the same for everyone. If you get more, so does everyone’s Believe whatever helps…. -

I don’t think he wants to peacock about anything involving RA. From OTC Even though it was not a one year “prove it” deal the Panthers treated it as such and quickly extended Anderson after the season to a new contract worth $14.75 million a season. This would be a disaster for the team as Anderson only had 519 yards in 2021. Rather than paying the original $8 million salary and then letting him walk after a poor season, the new extension saw the team pay $12.5 million in 2021 and then an additional $12.31 million this year. For that extra $16.31 million in cash and cap the Panthers got 6 additional games, 13 receptions, 206 yards, and a touchdown of production. -

Which number is accurate? If you want to pretend those 15 spots don’t exist, have at it. But the guy from OTC stated the real number -

Agreed. Except throwing away 19M on a backup is the reason they had to restructure any of them this year. -

That’s the total with 38 players. Not 53. So add about 15M for 15 players and you get the real total. -

Then they could have just kept it and rolled it over to this year. They did CMC after the trade. But its spent down to 10M and more coming. Giving RA 16M for these 6 games is why they are in cap hell. 19M to a QB is too. -

The team is 15M over NEXT years cap and is the worst team in the NFL. And he had nothing to do with any of it? There is no way he has no accountability for the contracts and cap mess. Why keep something around who helped put the team in this position to begin with. Hurney ring a bell? -

And that’s an acceptable top of the resume for the guy who is making the decisions that will decide the next 5 years of the franchise? Good luck with that. Those other GMs weren’t going to sign on to be a.yes man to Rhule. Fitterer did Now he should be rewarded for it? -

If he doesn’t, when do you think he gets another GM job? Name one team that would trade their GM for him. I fail to see the logic of going with an unproven(or awful) GM with an owner with tons of money and can do much better. The team is still 15M over next years cap(after RA) and is headed to the top pick. Is that good management? Or was Fitt just locked in his office all day? -

And when those GMs signed up with this teams, they knew they would be judged by the HCs vision. Fitterer chose poorly. -
How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?
Toomers replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
Evidently it does. A great deal. Never heard a troll in any Hurney or Gettleman threads. But now it happens every time. It’s like your hypocritical rant that posters shouldn’t be bashing Rhule, or the FO, before last season. This, after you spent years bashing Rivera/Hurney. That was classic. This is your standard cop out when you spin yourself into a position you can’t explain. -
How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?
Toomers replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sure thing. It’s funny I only became a troll(according to you) when I started disagreeing with you. Like when you falsely accused Hurney of being the main reason Teddy got signed. Or last year when I told everyone how ignorant it was to give Darnold 19M was. You told me Rhule and Fitt knew better and I shouldn’t question them. I was fine when blasting Hurney(with you) for years. Not thinking what you do, or asking for some kind of basis for your thoughts, isn’t being a troll. I know what’s next. I’ve seen the script before. Used on me and others. IDCWPWTTSS -

Toomers replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
Blame it on anyone who makes you feel better. But it’s fact that you have blasted and blamed Rhule and Tepper for everything. But Fitterer just happens to be OK because….reasons? If he was so well thought of, why did he take a job where he’s judged by someone else’s decisions. He signed the contract. He knew the deal. He might as well have been unemployed. Or he is part of a 6-16 team building that is already over next years cap. So it’s either inexperienced, or incompetent. Neither is a quality anyone looks for in reshaping an entire organization. -

I assume that you “liked” those players based on performance. What are we basing his hiring of Fitt on? -

Who picked the GM you want to keep. So how is that a point in his favor? -

Toomers replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. Hurney actually had experience and a track record that could be judged. And they both sacrificed tons of future cap space to build a bottom level team. -
That’s not redoing his contract. That’s every contract. CMC isn’t redoing anything. I didn’t ask for a basic definition of dead money which is all you keep giving. You said he would have to redo his contract. And still haven’t shown any way that’s reasonable or necessary. We can discuss any players deal or teams salary cap anytime you want to prove I don’t know what I’m talking about.
-
What do you think that dead money of 18.3M on 2023 comes from? That’s the bonus money already paid. So once again. What does he have to redo about his contract, in order to be traded. What other dead money do the Panthers have to take on? One of us still doesn’t understand dead money and it sure ain’t me.
-
His contract is a 3 yr/36M to any team acquiring him. None guaranteed. Plus this year is for 575k. That’s where his “value” lies. It’s posted above if you need help. What needs changed? You can’t possibly make him cheaper to acquire when they are already making league minimum base salary? So where is this salary they are eating since it’s not the 18.5M they have to account for no matter what?
