One guy who has a good situation is J. Philips. An outside LB/rush end on a good, 3-4 D, will give him many opportunities to rack up sacks which is mainly what awards will be given by. The LB Davis in WAS is in a similar position as Parsons. With a much better DL in front of him. Davis may transition faster simply from his line makes it easier. I’d still take Parsons long term.

I think y’all might want to check in on Paradis and Reddick’s contracts. That’s 13.2M that is the same as dead cap. Kicking it down the road with voidable years is no different.

David Decastro was just released by the Steelers
Toomers replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
And it has been for a very long time. The point was he wasn’t near that level of play last year. I think everyone is well aware of how Pro Bowls haven’t been an accurate barometer of a players ability. -

This has been a “rumored” outcome for DD for most of the off-season. Best I can tell is the Steelers don’t think he will be healthy enough to be good. Not sure how he made the Pro Bowl last year as the injury dropped his level of play dramatically. Add in that Decastro was considering retirement and 9M was too much to gamble on a player with little chance of being worth that much. He may need to sit out this year just to heal. That’s if he even wants to play anymore. That being said, I don’t see Trai Turner being a suitable replacement. Best hope is he buys some time for their 3rd round G to come around. Hope this helps but it’s mostly from speculation and opinions from various writers. -
Thanks for exhibit A. “Please go away and stop talking bad about my team”. And just like you did ITT, you and your homers question me. I just offer up a point of view. One that keeps coming true over and over and over. And the homers object but only can offer up this same cop out of “you’re not a fan” after their lack of knowledge runs dry.

The team signed Teddy, paid KK 13M, signed Boston, Weatherly, Whitehead, Roberts, Apple. I was against every one of these moves. How about you. Want to compare my record to the team. Which naturally would be where you stood on all these moves.
-
Homer it up all you want. But don’t attack any(and every) poster who has a legit question about the team. Just like you are doing now, the issue is dismissed because it’s not “optimistic”. Do you really need this place to tell you everything is wonderful until reality hits in September? How about all of the posters that don’t want anything but positive news and opinions make a list of what we are allowed to say and discuss. So as not to offend their delicate feelings. Would that help?
-
Then don’t have them ask someone to prove their opinion has merit and respond by dismissing it in the name of homerism and nothing else. Any slightly realistic post is just attacked to maintain the illusion. You want to debate anything I post and I’m all for that. Why else come here? Just so clueless homers can agree on how great the team is on their way to another top 10 draft pick. That sounds fun. Call it the “Sunshine and Puppies” forum.
-
Sure. Because they are much more Biased than someone who claims every move a team makes is great while that team continues to suck. You’re the biggest homer on here and know absolutely nothing about football. But we should all listen to you. What a joke. How many examples of our past “debates” you want to look at? I can guarantee if PFF had a good review, it would have been your first post. Like any source, their credibility is based on how nice they say things about the Panthers.
-
It is kind of hard to call a player who gets a rating below 50 on PFF as even average. It takes those bright blue homer glasses to squint that in with the rest of your “the team never makes mistakes” takes.
-
I would think almost any team would give a 5th. Just no downside to it. I would have given a 3rd for him over Darnold.
-
Shanahan. Should have two rings with Matt Ryan and Jimmy G. Nuff said.
-
I’ll believe that when I see it. That’s selling real low if they do something like that. But it’s JAX so maybe he doesn’t like Urban. Which most people don’t.
-
What makes you think that JAX will trade a good backup, with starting experience, and on a rookie deal for a 5th or less?
-
Not absent. Just harder to get to. Think page number and date of discussion/issue/transaction. I got called a troll and was accused of having an anti-SEC bias(AUburn alum)just because I said he sucked. People on here just don’t want their fantasies disturbed. Everything always is a good idea. Which doesn’t really make sense if the team is 3-21 in the 2nd half of the last 3 seasons. Ignoring the possibility of mistakes is what got the Panthers where they are. But you’re one of the very few who realizes that.
-
Exactly. Just a number with no context as to how it came to be that way. OTC is the more consistently accurate of the two. The Matt Kalil contract was a complete mess on Sportrac. But the guy writing for OTC wanted to pay Kalil 7M more so I question his knowledge as well. Now that they have every scenario mapped out, it’s fairly easy to judge any move for yourself.

What we need to see from Sammy D in OTAs
Toomers replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think I’ve been above board at all times with my feelings about the Panthers. I have no reason to dislike them. I was told to make sure I was here when Teddy led the Panthers to the playoffs last year. So I hung around and this seems to upset people as well. “I told you so” goes both ways. I’ve been here 6 years and am now being called a troll by the same people(not you) who agreed with me for the majority of them. Those tender ears and agendas tend to shift quickly. -

Not what I’m discussing. I was told that “basic math could justify picking up his option and guaranteed 19M. Still haven’t seen it. I don’t care either way. Just common sense thinking. -

Not to even mention the potential 100M or more in salary that Darnold will make the next 5 years as opposed to a real rookie QB like Fields. Which makes exercising that 5th year option having no upside and all risk. Any comparison has to assume they play at a similar level. The initial trade was a little much but not too bad. But guaranteeing another 19M for no reason is. It’s Darnold/Horn - Fields/ Moton/Moore new deals. I’m having a hard time using basic math to make on any of that logical financial sense. Maybe you will have better luck -
Whatever helps all crazy eight(or more)of you get through the day. And for the record, I never said Rhule lied. He gave a standard answer that he would have given under many scenarios. All coaches lie. All GMs lie.
-
Not that you would know from being here only a couple weeks(on this alt) but I was one of the very few fans that actually wanted Rhule before he was hired. Unlike 99% of the posters who wanted McDaniels, McCarthey, etc...... The real question is did you, Chuck, create an alt to argue with yourself? Again? Sit down child and get a grip.
-
Why zero reason? There are many different options that could have happened where Rhule lied. If they took Fields, do you really think Rhule would have went out there and said “Tepper made us take him?” Rhule could have had complete control, or Fitt could have. And the statement from Rhule would have been the same. Isn’t the draft about players?
-
And Teddy was signed to be a starter. What’s that mean? But I don’t expect you to understand simple facts or common sense. The Panthers has their franchise QB long ago with Kyle Allen. According to you. You’re almost a mathematical impossibility with how everything you say turns out wrong. I’ll pay for the trip to Vegas if you will just say what you think will happen. Easiest money ever.
