Because he plead no contest and was already suspended. Hardy chose to wait until after the season and fight it rather than plead guilty at the original trial date in November.

Quotes from Panthers as Phase One of the offseason begins

If I was a reporter in a press conference? Yes and those are the exact same questions that would have been asked if he was at the podium today in addition to getting bombarded about his contract which he hates. -

Because there are no good questions to ask right now. What the hell are you going to ask him about right now that would be interesting to your readers? A question about whether he wants an OL or a WR from the draft? He would give a non answer to that, trusts the GM to make the right choice. Some question about Oher and Martin? He'd say he's looking forward to working with them or something. The one thing the entire fan base wants to know about is what is going on its his contract and it would be asked 10 different ways to try and squeeze some sort of insightful answer about it from him. -

Cam probably just didn't feel like answering 50 questions about his contract which is a decision I can't really blame him for because other than a question about him graduating, how it feels to have Ted Ginn back and maybe how much better it is to be healthy this offseason would be about the only thing he'd be asked. -
Addai? Did he have medical red flags coming out or are you just comparing the names?
-
Not if his knee gives out and he has to retire after 2-3 years.
-
Bad news for Boise St RB Jay Ajayi. Reports his med re-check at the combine on his knee did not go well. He injured it in 2011 and can play immediately but there are serious concerns about the long term durability of it and that he may have an abbreviated career. Several teams red flagged him and likely took him off the board. Probably drops him from 2nd-3rd round range to 5th-undrafted range.

A sub 230 3-4 OLB is also ridiculous. He's a huge bust waiting to happen. At a time when he's supposed to be gaining weight, he lost 10 lbs since he was at 238 at his pro day
-
Should note that it didn't appear to really affect his play that much. His stats were pretty consistent from the 1st half of the year to the 2nd half of the year.
-
Randy Gregory reportedly weighed in at less than 230 on a recent team visit. Good chance that not only is he there at 25 but also at 57. Really hope we don't take him even in the 2nd. He sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Could be smokescreens, but I have yet to hear one positive thing about him or his attitude off the field.

Probably relishes the fact that this isn't a mandatory press conference. -

haha awesome -
I agree his coverage issues are overblown, but no way can he be a single high FS in the NFL. Does not have nearly the range for that. You need 4.4ish speed, very good change of direction and fantastic coverage instincts to do that. There's a reason only a couple in the entire league can do it well.

Preston Smith is a 2nd round guy that could go as high as late 1st or fall to late 2nd. Odighizuwa is another guy that fits the measurables profile DG will like and he could be there at 57 as well though his hip issues scare me. Trey Flowers is a little short but he's a guy I could see in the 3rd or 4th.
-
There is no one I like at all that could be there at 25 but there are some seriously enticing options that could be there at 57 if they fall.

Conley had the same number of catches, 100 less yards but 4 more TDs than Coates in an offense with a very similar run/pass ratio. Same size and Conley put up better numbers at the combine. Conley put up consistent production and Coates flashed in a few games. They are basically the same prospect, but Coates is projected in the 2nd and Conley is projected in the 4th. I think Coates is slightly better but I'll take Conley in the 4th or even the 3rd before I take Coates in the 2nd every single damn time. It's a matter of value and Conley is a far better value pick since you can get him later.

Pro days and all star games sure, but it is not that common for us to host them on a visit or do a private workout with them from my recollection
-
He's pretty much the same size as Shaq so I don't see why he couldn't.
-
I don't think we usually meet with prospects who go in the 3rd or later unless there are some health questions or they are from a small school
-
Well he never had a strange desire to watch The Wire so I call BS!

Brees would have to take a pay cut if he wants Jennings in New Orleans.

Starting to think DGB drops all the way to the 4th or even 5th. Teams pretty much always bring guys in for visits that have serious character issues so they can clear stuff up if there is any intention of drafting them and outside of the Ravens and I think the Chiefs he hasn't any visits that have been reported. That leads me to believe that his DV issues really are scaring teams and he is off almost everyone's draft board.
